One of your most technical video so far!! Super analytical and the part "updating existing contacts" was spot on and really handy!! Thank you Paul and greetings from Greece!
Hey Paul! Thank you so much for creating these videos. I'm a total newbie in Pipedrive and your videos are just clear and detailed down to the smallest feature there is. I like how you explained things and it really helps (and helped) me learn the ropes. Thanks a lot and please continue creating these kind of videos! P.S. I hope the old ones have an updated version as well! +1 subscriber here!
Thanks a lotfor your video! Quick question for you: I'm trying to figure out how to import a bunch of contacts into Pipedrive. The thing is, I've got a list of around 1700 people, and many of them are from the same organization. But every time I try to import them, Pipedrive makes a separate prospect for each person. Any tips on how to import different people linked to the same prospect?
Sorry, what do you mean by prospect? You mean organisation? As long as the org name in your spreadsheet is the same for each contact person, it should import contacts all linked to the same org.
Hey Paul thank u so much for the videos. It gave me clarity on how to upload in CRM. I have a clarification. In my data I have separate comments section can that be uploaded as well and in which section does it show in pipedrive.
It looks like the Label field has moved since you recorded this, correct? At about 2:52, your screen shows the label next to the person's name, but as I'm writing this, I'm seeing it in the Summary section of the contact record.
Informative 👍 I have a question, when leads are importing(through IMPORT CSV ) is there any assign column to assign specific lead to a team member, kindly share the UI of that screen.
Great video thanks, Ihave successfully contacts. Is there a way so specify which pipeline the deals go in to through the import process. I cant use stage as my 2 pipelines have the same stage names and it defaults to the first pipeline only.
Hello! Thank you so much for your videos, they are incredibly helpful!! Question for you: do you know how many rows I can upload at one time off of an Excel spreadsheet?
hi, i have a problem with pipedrive import, i'm trying to upload a database (sheets) but there are some empty fields on some of the columns and pipedrive doesnt load them. is there a way to make it? Thank you
Hi Paul! Thank you very much for this info. Quick question: I can import the information even though I don't have all the info? Ex: I have a Name and email, but not a phone number.
Hi, Im having a hard time mapping. For my data all I have is Company name, address and phone number. That is all I need, because I am calling for ATM placements and merchant services. So I only have 3 columns of data. Pipe drive is categorizing to the wrong fields. I essentially don't have a contact person, because I am just cold calling the businesses. All I have is organization info (address, name, phone number). I am trying to import leads by the way. which if they qualify will be pulled into my pipeline. Should I create a generic person?
You don't need to create a contact person in order to create a deal. Make sure that when you do the import you map to the org fields (not person fields). You can create a deal in the same import step and you should be able to link to the org without the need to create a person (if the field mapping has been done correctly).
I imported my spreadsheet. One of the columns was Deal Title. So I have all these DEALS. But NOTHING in contacts. I assumed the Name, Address, Phone, etc that I mapped to person and org would show up in contacts. But it is blank. Also I'm a bit confused with the contacts, leads, deals. I have a list of properties and most were skip traced that may or may not be 100% accurate. So I import from Excel. Do they become contacts? Am I supposed to make cold calls to my contacts and then if they are valid, turn them into leads. Then if leads are interested in possibly selling, turn them into deals? Or do I look at the contacts to see which ones I'm interested in, turn them into leads and then cold call the leads. Then turn leads that are interested in selling into deals?
I see there's a fair but you're trying to do here. If you can contact us here we can look at helping you with your import over a Zoom call: minorco.com/contact/
Paul, I deal with husband and wife couples who are near retirement. If I were to treat husband and wife as an "Organization", how can I include their separate phone numbers and emails in the Deal? I have this information in an Excel spreadsheet.
@minor-co in fact Pipedrive has a bug there. It doesn't split the commaseperated labels automatically. You have to remove the mapping for the labels if it got mapped automatically. Once you add it again it works.
@@SamHartmannComHey Sam! I’m having the same issue. Can you explain with more detail how you solve it? I’m trying to import almost 400 contacts and I need the labels to be automatically assigned. Were you able to assign multiple labels when importing the data? Or did you have to edit it after? Different contacts have different labels, so I can’t just make a bulk edit after imported
@@sarasalgado554 after uploading the import you see the mapping view where you assign Pipedrive properties to the imported data right? In my case the person labels property got mapped automatically but without seperating the commas. I had to delete the mapping for labels first. Then searched the exact same person label property on the right and mapped it to the exact same import data on the left. This time it split the commas between the labels in the imported cells automatically. Does this help?
Wow, what a great video! Very detailed and easy to understand. By the way, I have a question. If I want to import data to pipedrive, but there are some duplicates with the old data, is it possible to keep the old data on Pipedrive and the new data will not be added to Pipedrive? If it's possible, how can I do that? Thanks for making this video, very helpful!
Just a little note. I've been trying to import leads (person, organization - then leads) with activities into PipeDrive. If you do that in one go, the activity will not be registered to the current lead. When you view the list of leads, it will say "no activity". What you do is: First import person, organization, leads. Then you import activity with the lead title. Then the activity will be correct
That's odd. I've been able to successfully import a person, org and lead with an activity before. I wonder if you've missed a required field or the mapping wasn't done correctly.
@@minor-co If you have somewhere I can send the file to, I would love to do just that. I used one of the templates on the PipeDrive page. And thanks for making these videos! Great knowledge in all of them. Especially for someone who really isn't a sales person...
It's likely an issue with the format of the phone number in your spreadsheet. Make sure you include the country code and map to a phone field in Pipedrive.

You can choose where to upload this. I'd recommend creating a 'Notes' field which you upload to.
It looks like the Label field has moved since you recorded this, correct? At about 2:52, your screen shows the label next to the person's name, but as I'm writing this, I'm seeing it in the Summary section of the contact record.
Correct, there has been an update to the Pipedrive UI.
You've saved me so much time! You're greatly appreciate!!
Glad I could help!
Informative 👍

Yes, make sure your CSV includes a 'Lead Owner' column and you can provide the name of the user you'd like to assign the leads to.
Thanks for the well-detailed video.
You're welcome 😀

You need to use the stage name and then during the mapping step you can choose which pipeline/stage you are referring to.
Great thank you, worked perfectly.@@minor-co

Thanks! I've uploaded hundreds of thousands in the past, no issues. It just may take a while.
Up to 50MB sheet w/ maximum of 50,000 rows (including header)

I'm afraid you can't upload empty cells to custom fields in Pipedrive as the empty cells contain no data.
Hi Paul! Thank you very much for this info. Quick question: I can import the information even though I don't have all the info? Ex: I have a Name and email, but not a phone number.
That's fine, as long as you have at least a name (which is required) you can import a contact person.

I'd suggest creating a separate 'Spouse' custom field using the 'person' type and you can link the second person there.
Can you connect products to a deal on import?
I'm afraid not, this is a frustrating limitation of the import tool.
How do add multiple labels per contact/organization during CSV import?
You should be able to do this by comma separating the labels in your spreadsheet.
@minor-co in fact Pipedrive has a bug there. It doesn't split the commaseperated labels automatically. You have to remove the mapping for the labels if it got mapped automatically. Once you add it again it works.

Thanks. You can't skip the data but you can merge the data. So any data in your spreadsheet will be added to the existing contact.

Hi Paul.
Is how to import list of products to products?
Thanks
You can upload a CSV with columns for product name, ID, price etc.
How can I import the leads generated from my LinkedIn Sales Navigator?
Does LinkedIn Sales Navigator let you download a CSV? If so, you could simply import this as shown in the video.
can you add the code in the comment please?
Sorry, what code?
every-time ido this the phone numbers dont import
It's likely an issue with the format of the phone number in your spreadsheet. Make sure you include the country code and map to a phone field in Pipedrive.
