I've driven ( as in road and my Ford Focus) between Stras and Basel many times and it is wonderful to see the route from a different perspective...Thank you
Another great train cab ride and going through Strasbourg is really great having a very good view on each side of the tracks from the city to the country and with all the beautiful scenery of the huge countryside. Looking at all the buildings and train stations that you stop at picking up the passengers as well as the other trains passing by and every time i watch the train cab rides it feels like I'm actually there and until your next train cab ride Thank You. 🚄🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇲🇫💨
Super vidéo ! Merci.
I put this on background with my noise cancelling earphones every time i work in a cafe. Anyway, 200 vmax?? That's a lot faster than Deutchebahn's regular trains right? (not the ICE or the S-bahn, the medium speed ones)
This is probably the _only_ SNCF service that runs on the right track, not on the left track. It's a legacy of the time when this part of France was part of the old German Empire.
Nicely done, thank you! Looks like you'll eventually be able to stitch together a run of the classic Train 96 and its satellites (Brussels-Luxembourg-Basel) \m/
Encore merci. Céd.
Thank you for another superb video! As I have visited Alsace, and about 15 years ago travelled on this line, I was not surprised by the right-hand running. What astounded me was the fact that the trains on this route are now regular interval and rigidly every 30 minutes. (We passed a train going the other way every 15 minutes!). See European Tail Timetable table 385. This 'taktfahrplan' is not something you expect in France, except on routes around Paris. Note, judging by the crowds on the platforms (even at St Louis), this service is extremely well used. The rest of France should take note.
220 is good enough. Distances between stations are not big. Once you reach top speed you already have to slow down again. +Regional traffic still has to fit into the timetable.
Thank you for an excellent video…a bit faster than I used to travel along this route in the 1960s and 1970s! It was great to be able to view the Vosges mountains in the distance too. Query: Can you explain why French train drivers sound their horns just as they pass a complete train going in the opposite direction? Is it to inform the other train’s staff their train is complete? I think this practice is a French tradition as I don’t think I’ve heard it elsewhere. Many thanks for excellent trip with much incidental information. Regards, from Rob in Bournemouth, Southern England.
As the train runs at a maximum speed of 200 kph, I would like to know if there is any in-cab signalling like LZB or ETCS which are used in Austria and Germany at speeds higher than 160 kph.

Danke
amazing videos. Very defined and see you next time
Jolie vidéo à grande vitesse. Merci pour la visite de l'Alsace. Amicalement.
Bon voyage depuis l'Allemagne !
Great to see some views from the cab in this part of the world. A few local lines out of Strasbourg would be a great watch also.
Agreed :)
Thanks for the ride in the cab!Strasbourg is a beautiful city!
I took this trip in reverse exactly a year ago next week. It’s just a lovely trip, so scenic. Thanks for posting this!
So nice to actually see something! I've taken this train twice and both times windows were so dirty that I couldn't see anything!
Lol

One of the things I always enjoy is seeing the snow. The last recorded snowfall in Sydney OZ was in 1836.
Thanks for the ride and the Country side is nice and green.

Not used to seeing a train in France driving on the 'wrong' side!
This is standard running practice in Alsace, France.

MDR
J'adore les train
The line is so straight, they should rebuild it to a high speed line so they can run TGV's at 300 km/h
TGV’s are able to 220km/h on this line :)
220 is good enough. Distances between stations are not big. Once you reach top speed you already have to slow down again.
+Regional traffic still has to fit into the timetable.
très belle vidéo sincères félicitations J-C ELSDORF LIEGE BELGIQUE
Merci beaucoup.
Merci beaucoup 🙏, L777 pour cet incroyable train 🤩 🚆 vidéo, L777 !!
My favorite 🎉❤
Great video friend, greetings from Brazil.
On openrailwaymap the V200 section starts before Mulhouse Dornach. Maybe it's only for the TGV or a Map mistake?
I have noticed some mistakes in there too, on other lines.

Wonderful video as always😊😊. Is it possible to do a long night run as well in France? I would love to see that

Trams in Switzerland do this too. It's to warn anybody about to cross the line behind a train that a train is approaching on the other track.
The 07:16 movie's real catenary power voltage change has from 15kv to 25kv.
From South Korea 🇰🇷.
No, the voltage is 25 kV 50 Hz from Basel SNCF tracks.
An easy route to drive but must be a hard route to learn as there are few natural markers and the man made bridges and structures seem very similar.
I am amazed at the widespread use of double-slips; something not favoured by UK railways.
As the train runs at a maximum speed of 200 kph, I would like to know if there is any in-cab signalling like LZB or ETCS which are used in Austria and Germany at speeds higher than 160 kph.
The KVB only.

what time did this train leave?
I assume in same time as in yesterday ??? 🥸
Why do they blow the horn after passing an oncoming train?
I am imaging to warn someone trying to cross the tracks on foot after the other train has passed?
I think so, specifically railway workers
