You should restore that barn for weddings. It looks like you could hold the ceremony and the reception in there. My son and his wife recently married in a barn very similar to that, here in England, and it was beautiful, a very natural setting. The bridal party could stay in your chateau.
Yep a guy at my gym is convinced (from robust rumors on the internet) that the vaccine (even though there are multiple versions?) was created by Bill Gates in conjunction with China to convert us to trans-humans, "influence" the world population to create authoritarian control, reduce the impact of climate change and get us to buy more Microsoft products - I think that is the rumor more or less? (I have had to listen to it a few times and changes each time a bit). Phillip and Anna obviously disprove this theory via contradiction though because after the second vaccination he goes back to cutting down trees, painting with the wrong monster truck paint and using pesticides almost immediately and rejecting Chinese made lights. Although the spouse / children spy drone is a little authoritarian.....
Phillip, you are turning into a Grand Master of landscape design. Do not let technical imperfections of silly machinery stand on your way to glory. Beautiful Anna reminds me of Cinderella working hard around the chateau. You both are so funny and adorable. Love watching you guys. Oh, and I can see the musical concerts in your gorgeous barn.
"Philipp that's not true, everybody makes mistakes, we're really impressed how you always find a solution to your problems"...I also want to thank you Philipp how you are always helpful in your suggestions for comments! 😂 Anna and you are so delightful...such a wonderful couple and family! Thank you for sharing so much, take really good care, stay safe! Much love Kathy x
You (including the kids, Nathan, Benoit and cows and badgers) are my highlight on youtube. Soooo goood! If there was an award for best humour, you would definitely be the ones to deserve it.
While you were joking about the pool, I do think that a spa/gym place might be a great addition. As long as your guests stay mostly multiple nights it would surely increase the attractiveness of your chateau
You are going to need the dog house, when Ana hears what you said about the consequences (laughing out loud). Nice job clearing the brush away from the outbuilding! Ana’s paint is so precise!
the object of wood and steel where your wife turned the handle is an old Jack to jack up a heavy object in the building trade. The carpenter I worked as a boy in the Netherlands had one standing in the corner of the shop.
It will cost more to restore the barn than it will ever make from charging for weddings and accomodations. I think churches are far better for weddings and almost always they have facilities for receptions.
You take you life in your hands with your proposal comment! Question to our readers: Who thinks Philip would be a riot at a party??? Especially if he was in charge of the weed, I mean wheat! Anna, the patience of a saint!
Anna you paint like a true professional, which you are stunning creature. Can’t get enough of your vlogs, so amusing, delightful and beautifully filmed.
Well, to the most important question of the day - An Aston Martin or a Lamborghini? Philipp, how is this even a question? The Lamborghini is an Italian brand that is owned by Audi, a German company. Basically it’s an Italian that speaks German, it may actually be related to you. Although I AM a bit worried about the Bull, last seen munching foliage on the edge of a road, Anna will want the Aston so you need to make your move now. Because of this channel, the funniest and most clever RUclips content I receive in a large herd of RUclips subscriptions, a stampede of other Chateau renovation channels by the Brits has now appeared at my digital door.
I wonder if there’s a way of making those Art Deco lights into pendants? I’m not an electrician so I have no clue what that would require on the wiring part but that would look great with the tall ceilings… plus then they would have a little something in common with Philip’s choice
I enjoy watching these vlogs as much as I would enjoy going to a movie. In fact more because most movies now are insanely violent and dark. Anna and Phillip and their sweet, funny antics. Their relationship so precious. It makes me happy to watch them renovate their Chateau. I look forward to Sundays so I can watch the latest episode in their saga. Thank you so much for lifting the viewers up. 💖
Wouldn't it be great to be able to be able to travel back in time to see these buildings when they were first built. A big thank you from the U.S. for this completely enjoyable tour through this beautiful old building Philip and Anna.

That was a really good "smart joke" Phillip. lol That's a really cool barn now that you can see it. LOVE the "spy cam" lol OMG........the interaction between Nathan and Phillip is priceless. lol Enjoyed seeing all the items in barns. @@goldenineke bill gates, founder of microsoft pumped a load of $ into the vaccine program in the US, conspiracy theorists out there believe he had a hidden agenda like he had some tech in the vaccine to control our minds or something (or buy his products as Phillip jokes).
Such a wonderful trip down memory lane for me! We 4 heirs own an early 18th century homestead, our Grandparents farm near Berlin, Germany. We are keeping it as a family retreat. The outbuildings are built the same way. However it was former Eastern Germany so unfortunately there were no materials to secure them. But the old farm implements are still in the barn. The machine to separate the wheat from the chaff. My Opa used the Schleifstein to sharpen his scythes and Omi’s kitchen knifes for butchering the hog. The butcher came every fall, killed the animal. Us kids were right there marveling in the gruesome thrill! And watching Omi and the aunts turning it all into incredibly delicious foods. Nothing was wasted. Blutwurst, Sülze and all the delights of the whole hog! Thank you for the memories!
Watching these videos as a bilingual english/german speaker always cracks me up, the sighs when we can't come up with the exact word we have in mind is very relatable!
As this is our Independence Day I thought it only fitting to thank the nation of France for their support and assistance in making that happen. Vive La France”!!!
I agree with you about sycamore trees Philip - we nicknamed them 'stickamores' as they would always leave that horrible sap all over our cars when we parked underneath one.
The fact that you have painted the chateau by hand with steady hands and focus is astounding. Room after room. I love your story and keeping up with your updates 💛
It’s a threshing machine I think, separates the wheat from the chaff. When traction engines came in powered by steam they put an end to these. The engine would tour farms.
Agreed! You could make it a beautiful hall/wedding venue. If budget permits you could have the unexplored other side as a separate kitchen/catering zone, with an upstairs atelier for Anna. The space is HUGE. It’s all loaded with great potential- including a pool house or maybe one day a space for an Aston Martin.
It will cost more to restore the barn than it will ever make from charging for weddings and accomodations. I think churches are far better for weddings and almost always they have facilities for receptions.
Philip's joke about an incontrollable urge to buy a Microsoft product after getting the 2nd Covid vaccine cracked me up! The wide angle lens and filming your beautiful Anna made me wonder if we could see some of your previous film work, Phillip?
My my Phillip you are becoming quite a artisan lol You and Anna have cheered me uo know end after visiting my poor dad in hospital. You make me forget all my worries Merci to you both you a breathe of fresh air . Love watching and of course the French lesson lol

I know, because my dad worked at a big museum for agriculture. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotationsworfelmaschine
Your Chateau Restoration is my favorite to watch. Truly you make it a joy to watch. I can so relate to clearing land , painting, repairing things. Even handling livestock. I was glad the bull was gentle...stubborn yet gentle.
Yeah it’s Sunday night and it’s giggle time with Philip! As usual you didn’t disappoint, really interesting about the out building. The bovine watch and stubborn 🐮 shows Phillips true farming skills ….. not! 🤣🤣🤣🙄🙄 keep up the clever filming skills, clearly not wasted as a day job 🤣🤣🤣
I so love your personalities ❤❤❤. All three of you! Not only everything is beautiful, but the entire episodes are funny and hilarious. I think I can picture how much fun the girls have with Philip and so love how you listen to him and the expressions on your face! Music is also a perfect background. Awesome job! 👍😊❤
Anna, the shade of green paint in hallway is gorgeous 😍. Hope you were feeling better soonest🦬 Philip🙏..your footage is amusing and intriguing 😄thankyou 😊
As a recently graduadet architecture student with a flair for old wooden structures I would LOVE to visit the chateau and make some plans for the renovation of the old barn! 😍
I was fortunate enough to fly the 50th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy back in 1994. (US Army helicopter pilot) I absolutely fell in love with Normandy. Love your videos!
As an American, when I hear Chateau, I think GLAM! Therefore IMO, all ceiling lighting should be crystal chandeliers 😍 On the tree section, I kept thinking to save the largest ends of the trees for your fireplaces! And “little Anna” in Philip’s head made me laugh out loud! 😆😂🤣😅
Enjoyed the whole video!!! Phillip you and your family are so talented, the property outside, the lawns, the inside Anna is gorgeousssss!!! The cows had me laughing, I am so thankful you all are on RUclips!!!
I love the spaciousness of your barn! think of all that you could do with that great space! Yoga retreats, country dancing with a live band, a rainy day spot for farm to table dining. Weddings!!
Regarding the antique 'whetstone' (blade sharpener), my folks used one of these stones as a base for a garden fountain... it was laid on a circle of pebbles and the water comes up through the middle of the stone and flows to the edge. You can also use that stone as an art piece for the Chateau... Love that!!
First I want ro say, “Philip, I think you’re very funny and I love your sense of humor. You make me laugh in your videos but you do it with a dry face and such a sincere voice that I don’t always catch that you’re being funny instead of serious!!!”😊 My next comment is to your wife: when you guys were in the barn exploring and she was against that one wall peeking in regarding how to get into the next section which was the wheat drying area and you had pulled the camera shot way back, for a moment I thought there was a child peeping in to the barn area and it took me a moment before I realized it was your wife with the long hair and the screenshot had beeb changed!! Too funny!! It was amazing all the things you guys were finding in this barn and that’s only what you found on the surface. That is one of my favorite things to do when I work for an auction seller & we would be hired to go to these farms and list everything that was for sale and cleaned it all up before the sale. Many times whatever was in the barn was to be listed but they didn’t have any idea what was in there! It is our job to find it and clean it up and one cell in particular we found some of the oldest items EVER (US), Which dated back before the first Worlds Fair… There were these pristine metal toys, all in working order, made to scale size, duplicate Toys of Ferris wheels and mini other riding toys at the fair and they were all in working order when you crank them up. They weren’t even rusty because of being stored in the straw increase in the back corner of the barn. Some of the most amazing signs and what was even more amazing is what they sold for. The sister was in charge of the estate and she would not let her brother have any of his thing, not even his baseball glove or baseball cards which include the original first card of Mickey Mantle and all the big named first World Series baseball heroes… And they also sold for a Near fortune❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ before you start throwing things away, you need to have somebody who appraisers items come into those barns and buildings and tell you the value of what you have before you decide it’s just junk. Many museums and historical places would love to have some of those items not to mention having an auction where are you can sell these items. I am a collector and I could hardly contain myself when I saw what you had not to mention that amazing barn architecture…. You are very right that you have two periods historically and it where the plaster has come out that all can be replaced because it looks to me like structurally your barn is very much intact. That barn could be restored and you could use it for many outings such as weddings and dances in the community or other community events… You’re going to become very famous, VERY QUICKLY the MORE YOU RENOVATE YOUR BUILDINGS!!! As well as more visitors come and can prove how lovely it is to be dining there or staying there!! I’m very excited just to be allowed to visit through your videos. I think you two are a wonderful couple; I think you are very intelligent and talented and clearly, you’re not afraid of hard work!!!!!!! I do have one question and that is, who watches your children when you’re busy working? Does anyone or are they just so well-behaved they never interfere with your work? Either way I think you have beautiful children and I also understand that you do not want to show them to the public very much!!!!! My daughter and son-in-law are very careful about that as well and they’re also very careful about not putting your pictures out on the Internet because I don’t trust people that way either sad but you have to think about child predators even if you don’t want to. And like you guys, my daughter has two gorgeous little girls she does not intend for the world to know about. They very easily could be models or photograph for any number of things, But they do not want that life for them. They are more interested in their education and family interaction than what the world wants! Can’t wait for your Next video!!!I think you both were very calm on your last day before your Guests showed up… probably would’ve been rushing around like a mad woman wanting everything perfect but you guys oh much wiser and much calmer. I admire you both for that!!!! PS~ I’m sure somebody has commented about this already fill up but the only way you can make a cow move is to rope it and drag it to where you wanted to go. Bonine animals are the worst about getting out and even more terrible about going back in. “To be fair, you didn’t have a chance Against the Bull!!”
Another absolutely great vlog! Just the right balance of humor, restoration, gardening and miscellaneous segments. The electronic surveillance is one of my favorites and of course the French lessons w/Nathan. You are both so talented and interesting to watch. Your channel and Escape to Rural France (Dan the gardener) are, by far, the best out there. Maine USA
Love the mulching error... I'm so delighted to see that I'm not the only one who's also done something like this. A sharp mind can't be bothered with details like making sure the machine is ready to use. LOL... I do stuff like this all the time! I get excited that one thing works and then forget to ensure the other things are ready.... very reassuring, this. LOL...
The barn is amazing and having the picture is great. Phillip- Anna is the voice of reason, whether in your head or in front of you. 😀 The hallway light may not be perfect but the price is right 😊. Love your videos.
You two continue to amaze and entertain me. Your humour, your ability to do so many things is just great! I find myself smiling pretty much the whole time I'm being entertained. Love you guys!
Beautiful barn! My suggestion, make it a venue for weddings or music events or meetings . That Art Deco table deserves restauración 👍🏼 Ana great job with your hall and good choice with the lamps ! I Love those hydrangeas! Excellent film angles !!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Lovely, and funny as always, great to see Nathan and his French lesson. Can't wait to see what you will do with those beautifull outbuildings, in the future. Thanks for another great vlog.
That "mechanism" you found is for the shutters! It's a huge find. It's how they used to open and close all the shutters without having to do it one by one.
I like the light fixtures you are going to use... It looks good to have all these trees cut, you can not see the old barn. Love the old buildings! That chipper really cleans up foliage quickly!!! And, it is very useful on your property ... So interesting to see what is in the beautiful old barn ... That is a great old piece of equipment! I love that old door beside you. That stone wall is so beautiful! This was most interesting. Thank you for sharing!!!
I think the big machine in the barn is a combine before they drove on the fields. Then they collected the harvest and drove it to the farm and threshed when it dried. Very nice vlogs. Thanks for them. Greetings Marianne
Wow! Phillip would have no finance issues if he could restore his "weed" store! Out buildings are fascinating to me. They hold the old discarded treasures.
I think the building would be a great place to host bigger events like weddings or something like that in the future, there is certainly enough space for a big dance floor there
Planting some clover 🍀 I think would be a great addition or good option for your grass lawn, grass Lawn is practically green concrete as it does nothing for the bees and insects. Clover is great for encouraging biodiversity and making bees 🐝 happy Also, it looks great and you down have to cut it to keep it up 🌸🌻💕
You can get metal paint and paint the cheap looking aluminum base of the ceiling lights you don't like. You could also mount it on a base, maybe with a crown moulding surround to match the moulding you're using on the walls, and paint the whole base metal and all the same colour as the ceiling/moulding. it would probably look like something from the 20s in keeping with the old lights you're putting back! They are lovely, by the way, I'm glad you're going to reuse them.
Philippe, that's not true, everyone makes mistakes, we're really impressed how you always find a solution to your problems!...You guys are doing a wonderful job. Wonderful looking barn! So glad to see that Nathan is still working with you! Nice paint job Anna!
I think using antique lights as long as it’s wired safely are very attractive! You go Phillip and uncovering the barn. My husband has a red shredder and loves using his too! At least you wear your safety gear!
You should restore that barn for weddings. It looks like you could hold the ceremony and the reception in there. My son and his wife recently married in a barn very similar to that, here in England, and it was beautiful, a very natural setting. The bridal party could stay in your chateau.

I thought the same thing. I agree. Great idea.
Was thinking the same thing!
Good $ in that as well. Venues are so expensive nowadays.
and there is still gonna be some space for a atelier, as far as I can estimate the barn ;)
Nathan's guest appearances are always FABULOUS.
I find myself repeating the French lessons aloud with them. C'est trés bon.
@@thornyback Lol. As do I.
"I have a strong urge to buy a Microsoft product." Phillip is killing it with the dad jokes.

My next comment is to your wife: when you guys were in the barn exploring and she was against that one wall peeking in regarding how to get into the next section which was the wheat drying area and you had pulled the camera shot way back, for a moment I thought there was a child peeping in to the barn area and it took me a moment before I realized it was your wife with the long hair and the screenshot had beeb changed!!
Kids are at school during the week!
Maine USA
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOL...
Good to know I'm not alone 😂
I love the tours of the out buildings. Like a treasure hunt!
OMG that barn is an absolute treasure trove!
Love the tour and history. You are the best at providing vlogs with wonderful regularity.
The little Anna in my head was right!! Ha. Love it.
You’re my hero Philip.
That's very flattering.
LOVE the "surveillance" videos!
Lovely, and funny as always, great to see Nathan and his French lesson. Can't wait to see what you will do with those beautifull outbuildings, in the future. Thanks for another great vlog.
“The little Anna in my head”! That made me laugh!! Great fun video. Mary
Satisfaction level is high when I watch those trees being cut and shreded!!
That "mechanism" you found is for the shutters! It's a huge find. It's how they used to open and close all the shutters without having to do it one by one.
Thanks for the tip, do you know how that would work?
I like the light fixtures you are going to use... It looks good to have all these trees cut, you can not see the old barn. Love the old buildings! That chipper really cleans up foliage quickly!!! And,
it is very useful on your property ...
Greetings
Marianne
thank you Marianne!
Oh good lord, carpet in my editing room! I'm from Wisconsin, I feel your pain! Love this one!!!
Wow! Phillip would have no finance issues if he could restore his "weed" store! Out buildings are fascinating to me. They hold the old discarded treasures.
I wish your vlogs were longer .they are so interesting and informative.
I think the building would be a great place to host bigger events like weddings or something like that in the future, there is certainly enough space for a big dance floor there
OMG , the backdoors, the style is full of history!!! Just wonderful !!! Have a great week!!!
Wow what outbuildings you have. They look wonderful. You are both a great team. One sensible and one hilarious . 👏👏
Planting some clover 🍀 I think would be a great addition or good option for your grass lawn, grass Lawn is practically green concrete as it does nothing for the bees and insects.
Clover is great for encouraging biodiversity and making bees 🐝 happy
Also, it looks great and you down have to cut it to keep it up
🌸🌻💕
You can get metal paint and paint the cheap looking aluminum base of the ceiling lights you don't like. You could also mount it on a base, maybe with a crown moulding surround to match the moulding you're using on the walls, and paint the whole base metal and all the same colour as the ceiling/moulding. it would probably look like something from the 20s in keeping with the old lights you're putting back! They are lovely, by the way, I'm glad you're going to reuse them.
I like the lights for the hallway!! Great to reuse things that were in the Château to begin with! Plus, it saves money!!!!
Philippe, that's not true, everyone makes mistakes, we're really impressed how you always find a solution to your problems!...You guys are doing a wonderful job. Wonderful looking barn! So glad to see that Nathan is still working with you! Nice paint job Anna!
So nice of you
Love the blog and always Philip is comical 😂😂
Love watching you work on your beautiful chateau 💖
I loved this one ....who am I kidding, I love them all!!
The barn outbuilding was fantastic. Look forward to seeing more.
Take care !! 🥰
I think using antique lights as long as it’s wired safely are very attractive! You go Phillip and uncovering the barn. My husband has a red shredder and loves using his too! At least you wear your safety gear!
I love your humor 😂👍🏽 especially when you talk about asking Anna to marry you 🤣🤣👍🏽😆 good one 😉
Good to watch again lovely Jubley.
Nathan and Phillip are so funny 😁 the outbuilding is beautiful..
I love you two! But phillip is my favorite. He is so quick witted and funny.
