  • Success! Everyone recommends the purple panda lavalier mic. An omnidirectional microphone is the best for motovlogging. Works when connected to GoPro and to the Zoom H1n. The sound in this video is raw with no clean up in post.

Would be possible on the Zoom H1n to record both from the lav mic and the zoom h1n internal mic simultaneously ..for instance i would like tor record my voice and engine noise at the same time ..would that be possible ? or what can i do to achieve that ?

Sorry no, only one audio source, external or internal for h1n. The main issue with the GoPro is it requires an omnidirectional mic. Most lavalier mics are not omnidirectional and start cracking under high wind, and even my Sony mic is just stereo. I didn’t know that and started using the zoom. I like to dedicate one camera and mic to my helmet which I can do now. The zoom h1n is optional, see my “engine noise only” vid where I cram it into my backpack for exhaust noise. This would be a great compliment to helmet audio. You can also get a lav mic for it and walk away from your camera which is handy.

@@CPUspeed I will definitely be getting a Zoom recorder , I plan to get a gopro mic adapter for the purple panda for my voice ..and just record a separate channel using the zoom for the engine sound.
