Totally enjoyed your vid and especially the end. I’m just gathering parts around my place to put a hammer together. Thank you for the reference material and the great entertainment. More power to ya, from Wyoming, USA
First off, thanks for the shout out, your a gentleman and a scholar. Secondly, you made that look way too easy. Jealous beyond belief! What a champion! I read the title and expected a power cord hanging out of a claw hammer! 🔨 I'll be sure to return the favour in tomorrows video. Amazing work. And song too!
Ha ha I cut my RR track anvil with my power hack saw with a regular hand hacksaw blade I. It... it didn’t take long but it was such a crooked cut I had to re cut it and grind it with the angle grinder!! Lol
By the way congrats on reaching 200 subscribers, and Happy Australia Day! I was gonna do a video of driving my valiant around, snacking on Tim Tams and listening to ACDC and then mirror the film in editing so it looked like the wheel is on the other side of the car. But unfortunately a freeze plug popped out of it in those single digit temps a couple weeks back and I just found out about it today, let it be known that StopLeak is not a sufficient anti freeze substitute.
Should have filled the top and bottom tubing with wet sand, it takes a lot of the ringing noise and impact shock out of the hammer. Cool hammer, cool guitar playing..!!
Loved your vid loved your humour. I can relate to so much as I’m always fabricating something, comments like a flat garage floor, looking for steel “ah some 30mm reo “ !! I like making blades axes and knives so to have a go at forging would be a buzz. Your plucking sounded ok to.
When you disengage the motor, will the hammer come to rest wide open? If not, maybe a piece of elastic cord hooked on so when the motor disengages, it pulls the hammer to full open.
I just wanted to say I liked your video and give me some good ideas for my own build. Also I had a comment off subject of your video I really like that car in the back it reminds me of my grandfather’s recent build did you build that one
Yeah looks like it, and all the material was free, how good is that. Gee you'll be able to knock out some good stuff now, heaps of tongs maybe some more hammers etc. Cheers Len.
Good mate, would like to have a go at a hammer but like you don't have any of the tools they use, I know you made that one and used tong handles as fullers, man that was good ol Aussie ingenuity. Would be easy to make one of the drifts I reckon.
Brother this is the best vid I've watched on making a power hammer, but pro's and con's Pro's: Great vid Welding in shorts, need sandals though Scrapping from old shit Pit bull in the back ground, a big plus!! Great design Functionable Your accent, it seems Australian but hey I'm from Tennessee everyone has an accent besides us:} Tattoos Music Scrapping, uh I've said that already Cons: Not enough tattoos Not enough old school punk music No dimensions, at least I've not found them yet Great video , just need some kind of dimensions and at least on your sound track, if you are from Down Under, some Lime Spiders. Thanks brother
Man it was just a random old 1/4hp 240volt electric motor I had kicking about. You could use whatever you can find. An old washing machine motor would do the trick. Thanks for watching 🤟🏻
@@oldskoolonly Thanks for the reply bro! I've been building plans for my own power hammer, and I just don't know dick about motors lol. To be specific I'm trying to create a power hammer that can be completely modular. Hammer weight, workpiece overhead, and speed... I've gotten the whole thing worked up BUT the motor. For some reason like no one says what motor they use
@@oldskoolonly I definitely could make one for myself easily enough. But I'd like to offer these plans to the community for free when I'm done. Imagine having a power hammer that can be a 50 lb tuned for doing detail work, and in 10 minutes switching it to a 200lb deadblow for super large projects. All for under 500$ of material.
Yep mate I just read it anyway.. the stuff you asked in the description.... #Does anybody even read this stuff ?# very nice project by the way. You may not have a bazillion in shiny new equipment, you weld with extremely minimal protective clothing, there's dust and shit lying around, just like in my "workshop", but blimey mate you get the job done, and entertain us along the way. Inspiring stuff! On a weather note, while you were 'enjoying' the middle of summer, we in lovely Sweden have many degrees minus Celcius, my garden's got piles of ploughed up snow lying around, and I'm definitely not up for welding bare armed!
For f*cks sake dude check your volume levels. Couldn't here a word because tools and music blasted my ears off. THX for the content though. Exactly what I was looking for. THX again.
I feel sorry for all who did not watch to the very end
Haha glad you did!! Cheers, thanks for watching 🍻

Mate!!! Everything about this video makes me happy. Love the ending. Thanks for the shout out!
Bloody awesome mate! Southdown is right, you made that look too easy! Best tyre hammer build vid I've seen... two weeks later... 👍
Good idea. Now I'm going to have to give it a go. Thanks

Paul's Garage and Forge how long do you reckon it took?
God bless your patience. Liked and subscribed just because you didnt go ballistic waiting for that track to be cut
Ha ha I cut my RR track anvil with my power hack saw with a regular hand hacksaw blade I. It... it didn’t take long but it was such a crooked cut I had to re cut it and grind it with the angle grinder!! Lol
Putting my design together now as I scrounge for materials - thanks for sharing your build! Cheers!
Playing your guitar with the hammer rhythm section sealed the deal for me..Awesome!
Haha cheers man, thanks. That was a fun video to make 🍻
very good build, i will make this one
Thanks a million for the shoutout Paul, I really appreciate it!

Nice hammer build. I can't wait to see what you make with it.
thanks for project..i'm from Brazil..
Can u say what's the power of the motor and rpm?
Nice build sir.
When you disengage the motor, will the hammer come to rest wide open? If not, maybe a piece of elastic cord hooked on so when the motor disengages, it pulls the hammer to full open.
awesome vid and project, maybe just make it so that the hammer is pulled up when standing still so you can easily insert your pieces for forging?
Super Awesome!! Actually a power hammer is on my 2018 List too😂👍👍
The never ending rail sawing earned a subscribe XD
Hi Paul ! Nice work! 👍 👍 👍
Hey, that thing has good rhythm! Hahaha it's nice to see a smith that can weld. I have yet to see a smith on Forged In Fire that can actually weld.
Haha Cheers man, thanks for watching 🍻
great job
What size motor you use
1/4hp
What's the HP on the little motor?
That's what I'm looking for!

Will Lothridge great. She's no monster powerhammer but does what I need it to do 👌🏻
That's a pretty awesome death machine you got there.

Fantastic, subbed mate 👍
Where to buy the spring? Thanks!
This looks good I'm simple
Can I get some of the measurements for the stand I want to build one
I wanna make one too how has this held up so far
Cypress pine which has nothing to do with this project. That was so funny I spit my chew out
😂😂
Might have been faster to cut the track with a torch
Good teacher
I made a power hammer just like this over the summer. The only difference was mine weighed about 1200 pounds when I finished!
do you know the Ram weight?
no probs
Great video man
Paul's Garage and Forge your welcome man keep the good videos coming
Great man
very nice non-adjustable metronome...

Power hammer by day metronome by night

Is it a Hagström?
1966 Kay Speed Demon
@@oldskoolonly Ok I didn't see the whole guitar, I myself have a bass Hagström Concord from 1968. Greetings from Sweden.
I wish your mic was as loud as the music
Yes!! This kinda shit gets me so hyped! Thank you.

Yea yea, I see tha tattoo. Hahaha, but yea if I ever had one it would be like this - colors and plants, no skulls and bones and devils
at first run i thought: it´s making music. i can see, that at the end i wasn´t only person, who noticed :D

Haha actually took ages. Was a while ago but from memory it was a few hours
Best way to avoid burning holes in your pants while you're welding is wearing shorts
