Nice job on the repair. Unfortunately the safe is a POS. It is a nice lock box to keep friends and family out and such, but a thief with a small pry bar would get that open in no time. The best thing you can do is SECURELY bolt it down, preferably to concrete with something strong like Wedge Bolts. It's much harder to force the safe open in the upright position, and it makes it impossible for a thief to take the entire safe with him.

I wish I could do it more. Most stores policy is to throw it away immediately.

You could also get a good amount more protection by upgrading the lock. The lock you have on there is some imported combo lock that does not operate like standard locks and does not have the security features. You can however install a standard Group 2 combination lock or digital lock in that safe pretty easily.

Yes within reason. I am a safe and vault technician and there are safes I would say are not going to be able to be broken into by most criminals. Something like a TRTL30x6 would take me a few days to get into knowing what to do. I don't think a criminal would be able to get in at all. Of course we are talking about a $20k safe that weighs 5000lbs. I think for what you paid you have something that will protect you for what you specified.

Yeah, I know they're nothing special. I just bought it to keep the kids safe. It keeps the stuff safe for a smash and grab. These safe guys all bash each others brands of safes saying how easily their competitors safes are broken into ( even $1000+ safes). Any ambitious thief will get into almost any safe.

Mine is the Stack on Y092KE000558 model. The lock looks the same. Its more then fit my needs would you by chance have a manual on how to change the combination? Thank You.

You won't find a manual on adjusting the combo. If you take of the inside panel you'll notice the discs that rotate with the combo dial. Spin the dial a few times and you'll see how they work. You can take these plates off and restack them on in any order. So if your combo was 10-50-70 you should be able to make it any combination of those ie: 50-10-70, 50-70-10, 70-10-50, 70-50-10, 10-70-50. You could make it any other numbers but you would need to grind/weld on the plates.
