My schools arts literally have nearly no budgeting, it’s awful. Our stage doesn’t even have fly space, back stage, costume closets, dressing rooms, wings, or curtains that touch the floor. But despite the budgeting flaws our productions are still very good. Budgeting is no excuse for a production this bad.

My school is only slightly better off with budgets than yours and yet the actors put on amazing shows every year because they are so passionate about it.
I mean, AVPM had a budget of, like, $500 and they spent half of it on a giant chocolate bar, yet that musical is still so amazing just because you can tell how much the actors love their roles and how much effort went into it.
It takes heart, not bucks.
This... to be honest it feels like they're doing a rehearsal. Like, the first rehearsal where they don't pause at mistakes sort of thing. Honestly, I think they needed another month or two at least
We don't even have a stage!!
My school had almost no budget one year especially. We did in the heights because there were only two sets (it’s someone on RUclips). The set looked like it belonged off broadway. We worked with what we had. It was good (for a high school show)
We don't really have a budget, we can only really use what we already have ( which is mostly just costume stuff)... We have a big stage though (without curtains). And we have really passionate teachers, so they even buy some things themselves. The only money we can use is the money we make with the show itself (only like 15$ if we are lucky). Our school has at least one play every Year, and I've seen really bad stuff- but most things were REALLY good! And some are just written by students! I learned that Money doesn't make a good show, work and passion do!

And Peggy I actually have to disagree there. She has gotten a lot of compliments in the comment section and looks absolutely amazing especially next to the other actors. I know what you mean but it could just as easily work out the other way if you think about it though I cannot see any of the other 'actors' getting an acting career in the future.

If you'd like to, go on Heather C's tumblr (arissaflores) and read about the bts! I don't hate illegal heathers that much anymore... They had to cut so many things and it was really low budgeted and for the 90% of the cast, this was their first musical experience
Honestly, I'm all for following your dreams and that there's a first time for everything, but there's that and THEN there's purposefully embarassing yourself in front of the entire internet. If you wanna make a fucking musical, either chose one you can use as it is and not cut 50% of it because ohmegerd swearing and oh shit we don't have enough actors for two of the main characters?! or leave it be. Also, I think you're supposed to bring SINGERS and ACTORS to the stage and not some soggy pieces of cardboard!

Shanoodlez This whole production was student led and according to Arissa (Heather C) 90% of the cast was doing their first theater production. The school sort of screwed up because I think they were the ones that cut everything up in a massacre. Anyways Arissa said on her tumblr that she’ll never forget this production and even though it sucked badly, she had a great learning experience.
I don't know why, but the part I find most hysterical is the end of Dead Girl Walking. "That works for me." Then they fall and everything goes black. Ok bye 😂😂😂😂
