    You need the part number for the leaky coolant hose? Cummins had a fix for it, just a little silicone piece hahaha

    There isn't any lag...although if you lift off the throttle and then accelerate all the way down (same gear, no downshift) you still have to wait for the boost to build up in order to really accelerate. Am I saying anything wrong here?

    • @krey8171
      @krey8171  5 лет назад

      What you just described is pretty much the definition of lag. Waiting on boost/ turbo to spool. There is always “lag” in any turbo charged engine. When people say “no lag” they are commonly referring to the vehicle spooling just like or close to how it did with the stock turbo.

      @@krey8171 So a car with compund turbos can't react as a naturally aspirated engine...for example. I thought it would have absolute instant boost and instant acceleration...pretty much like an electric car.
      I have got a bmw 335d and eventhough everybody is saying there is instant power and so on...i still have to wait for the turbos to spool up...for half a second or so...it isn't absloute instant full power.

      Vlad ZSX what you’re talking about now, is boost threshold. It’s kinda like all squares are rectangles but all rectangles aren’t squares. So, boost threshold is the minimum lb/min of exhaust gas flow needed to produce boost (minimum usable boost). Lag is basically the time needed to produce boost that you can feel. Like feeling the acceleration at 15 psi on a 160ci engine....I hope you understood what I’m trynna say xD

      martin1234512345 I never floored it in this video. Only got it to waste gate pressure on the stock charge which is roughly 30psi. WOT I’d see 60-62psi

    I have 244,000 on my hub bearings but have been thru 2 sets of free not axle is joints(ok the first set was from pulling ng out a tree). I am dying for compounds. I upgraded my 351 with a 63.5 compressor and 76 exhaust with a 11cm turbine. It's good with throttle but low rpm cruising acceleration sux. In your opinion would a 475 or smaller would help my beasty

    • @krey8171
      @krey8171  5 лет назад

      A 475 for a compound setup or for a single? 6.7 or 5.9? The 63.5 turbo should spool just fine. A 475 single will be hard to spool, and as a compound it will spool the same as now but have more top end performance.

    Looking at putting compounds on my cummins. How much louder would you say it is than just the single turbo while towing?

    • @DasMoose9001
      @DasMoose9001 Год назад

      It's noticeable but not crazy, I wouldn't change it with how much benefit it gives.
      Get a proper dyno tune and leave it alone, decent MPG's and lower EGT's are possible.

      @@krey8171 is it needed for compounds on stock fuel

    • @krey8171
      @krey8171  5 лет назад +2

      I had my compounds on stock fuel initially and it would make 53psi max. It’s a risk you play with if you don’t. Some get away without doing it, and others don’t. You run the risk of floating a valve or bending a pushrod...then you’re doing an engine rebuild. I’d rather spend the money up front to prevent those things than 2-3x that amount fixing broken parts.

    • @krey8171

      That setup had a FASS 150, Fleece Power Flo 750 and Exergy 60% injectors. S475 over stock compounds. I actually have a big single now. Makes more power than the twins I had for less money and it’s easier on the bottom end because it doesn’t make boost down low.
