Hi! Bruce! This is Javier from Puerto Rico in the Caribbean. Whenever you encounter a surging engine, you will need to address the low jet side of the carb. 90% for this problem is related to this part of the carburator. You will need to remove the carburator and clean throughly this components. There is one small jet with a tiny tyny hole that when it plugs, the engine will start to surge. And there is some thru holes that need to be cleaned also that goes to the back of the carb inside the tunnel. Hope this will help you in your next recurring surging engine problems! Have a nice week end!
HONDA eu3000i is a wonderful generator. I have one it is very quiet and efficient. I only use non ethanol gas in it and never leave any gas in it for more than a month.
I hadn't really thought about testing a spark plug till watching this. So I did a little search and learned a couple of things. 1. If the part number has an R in it that means there is a resistor in the plug and it should read between 5-10 ohms, if not 1-5 ohms from the tip of the electrode to the connector, and of course it should read as an open between the connector and any other part.
You nailed that one Bruce! Nice job. Those subtle surging symptoms can be troublesome to find. I wish I had a third hand too! But we must watch what we wish for...a fiddle fairy with three hands will make three times the problem.
Hello there Bruce. Another nice fix. Tricky trying to get in at the carb but you prevailed and the results speak for themselves!! Nice work and take care!!
Great video Bruce , but i have sugesstion use a spaceheater to load the genny insted of a drill or a cutter. Drill use very little power while running emptey but a spaceheater use alot of power al the time it's heating the space.
Good tip! That second unit was a hand held heaterthat draws 14 amps at full load. I am still looking for a load box like James Condon has. Thanks for the informed comment.
Another awesome video, Bruce. I've been meaning to ask you a question. I'm looking to purchase a lift table similar to yours. Did this have the 500lb capacity or the 1,000lb capacity? Sorry for the Imperial measurement. I've never converted to metric. 😊 Also, is that 3/4" plywood on the tabletop? Thanks in advance.
Mine is an older 600lb. I bought it at a Candain Srore called Princess Auto. Here is a video of the unit. (older video) ruclips.net/video/yv7FtFWRHaU/видео.html

You are smart. Once in a while I have a machine around here i forget about. (my generator)

Well The R means a readinG in the Thousands of 5000 to 1000 Ohms if there is no R the readin will be close to 0 ohms. The R adds resistance.
You nailed that one Bruce! Nice job.

Great job, those small generators are a bugger to work on,but still nice to have around. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks Mike

Thanks 👍
Wish my generator was that size. Mine is three times the size and twenty times louder, it’s diesel! Nice easy fix👍
Yes My own Genset is a John Deere (Made by Coleman). It is a hard to start 8hp flathead and HEAVY LOL
But this one is only 120 volts.
No blade to sharpen? No oil to change? I’m lost! LOL. Quick fixes are always appreciated.
Great point!
Nice machine to have when the power goes out! need small hands to work on it!
You and me both!
Nice work bruce sir despite the small space to work through that generator runs good sir 🔧
Thanks 👍

Way to go Bruce. I thought you might end up having to remove the carb so you could clean the idle circuit. Excellent.
Thanks 👍
Honda generator are awesome I like them a lot Thank you for the video
Yes they are!
Looks like a good gen, sound ok for first run. 😮
Thank you
A clogged spark arrestor can cause running issues as well.
They sure can. Thank you
Nothing you can't fix but your jokes need work lol brilliant mr Bruce
I know

@@BrucesShopPA is similar to HF in the US, though the PA I’ve been to have more items and things never seen in HF.
What size did you take that carburetor jet to? Thanks in advance.
Not sure. This is an older video. So---What I do is find a mini drill bit that just fits then go up one size carefully of course.
It won't be doing the surging for long as you Mr Pender will get it fixed and running again
Thanks so much. It isn't just another surging engine to a guy who has a 3000 ie Generator.
@@BrucesShop cool beans 🫘 there Mr Pender 😎👍
4:15 do you do heart surgery? I did 45 weeks ago. Coming up on 1 year.
Yes I know. I hope i ddn't upset you.
@@BrucesShop no, I laughed at that too. I would have had you do my heart surgery if I knew you did them.
Hemostat STAT @@haneyoakie14
@@BrucesShop we’re going in!
Can u fix the main board???

OK Thanks
Stuff is hard to get to on that one. You might as well be working on a car.
So correct!!!! Thanks a lot.
Just remove the fuel line and take the carb off....
Thanks
Is there no sound??
OK I wouls restart. otheres seem to be OK.
