    Some of the finest guitar playing ever. The other guy with Mark Knopfler being Sonny Landreth is also world class. I love when you do Mark Knopfler reactions.

    So happy you added this piece to your MK and DS catalogue. MK is lauded for his guitar playing, justifiably so, but he’s equally distinguished for musicality and composition, which this piece highlights.

    This has a very different intro to the studio version. I like it. Mark has a new album coming out in April, for those who might be interested. The first single is already on You Tube. I can’t remember what it’s called off hand but will be easy to find if you search his name.

      Album is “One Deep River.” Single is “Ahead of the Game.”
      (I think).

    There are a few songs on Sonny Landreth's albums that feature Mark. Shooting For The Moon and Blue Tarp Blues are both great collaborations between the two. Love your reactions.

    Such a great fun song, everyone is enjoying it on stage, the intro is so cool too, although it is not like that on the album. Sonny Landreth is playing the sweet slide guitar too. Mark surrounded himself with the finest players from Nashville for his 1st solo album which this is from, and many are still in his band today. Keep reacting to more from this concert, it's brilliant stuff from Mark.

    This song looks inspired by Cajun music (New Orleans)...

  • @alchemy-oi8xf
    @alchemy-oi8xf 8 месяцев назад +2

    The song has a Cajun-style sound. Cajuns, originally, were French-Canadian refugees who came to Louisiana in the mid 1700's. They brought with them their wonderful music, (usually featuring accordian and fiddle), and the delicious, spicy cuisine that Louisiana is known for. Mark's lyrics reflect things related to Louisiana, such as hurricanes. As always, I loved your heartfelt enjoyment of the music. :)

    • @denroy3

      Zydeco...the sound you are referring, and that is exactly what they are going for here.

    • @alchemy-oi8xf
      @alchemy-oi8xf 8 месяцев назад +1

      Actually, the reason I called it Cajun is because that's the music of the Cajuns, (French-Canadians from Acadia, now Nova Scotia), as oppose to Zydeco music which is what the Louisiana African/Creoles played.
      They're quite similar, as Zydeco is based off of Cajun music, but, as I understand it, Zydeco has less fiddle, and more of a blues/jazz/r&b influence, though I'm no expert. @@denroy3

    The whole " Golden Heart " album is a masterpiece with brilliant storytelling ,such as this one with a father reassuring his son and explaining life to him. It's so clever, and it just makes you tap your feet and smile.

    The next one should be Je suis desolee from the same TV show ( interesting fact: during 96 tour MK joined that song with Calling Elvis so the outro was fluently transforming into the beginning of Calling Elvis)

      Cannibal is not plural... meaning many.
      The reason, is obvious.... not oblique...or oblong.

    Creo que todos los artistas,al menos si han conseguido bastante éxito, tienen su ego pero el puede tener Knopfler no es por su imagen,ni por su voz,ni por su presencia en el escenario,ni por ser un gran guitarrista, para él,lo que importa es la canción que ha creado y conseguir transmitir lo que quiere transmitir y, para eso,necesita a grandes músicos para ayudarle a sacar lo mejor de la canción y,en directo, para transmitirlo al público, por eso se rodea con músicos con esa actitud en el escenario,el resto de la banda disfruta porque Knopfler hace lo que tiene que hacer,nada más,el resto del show,que es mucho,lo hacen ellos,no son eclipsados
