Facts. I’ve went back and watched plenty of MJ games. Players games were far more simple, far worse PG play, not a lot of 3 point shooters, and whole game virtually played within arc. Much different game.

KD is a great player and i actually think he's underrated. But this isn't even debatable, prime Bird was special, Bird is considered by most to be a top 5 player all time. Bird's 3 year stretch from 84-87 was some of the best basketball ever played and he did it on 50/40/90 splits.
Bird gets cooked by most elite wingers in today's league. KD before the injury with golden state was a better defender than bird. KD is a more versatile scorer. I'm sure the guys in the league would rather guard a prime Larry versus a prime KD. Larry was great but individually I'm taking KD. Didn't Luka and Jokic just proved that even with subpar athleticism they can still ball. Bird wouldn't have any problem in today's game. People forget Bird is legit 6'9 with a shot release way above his head. His shot is harder to defend than Luka's stepback.
KD is a great player. Maybe the best of this era. Bird is maybe the best overall player of all time. He did everything well. 4 times led the league in Defensive Win Shares. Best passer I ever saw. He scored in more ways than anyone I've ever seen. Great shooter from every distance. Best free throw shooter ever. Best 3-point shooter of his era. On the pass and off the dribble. Great rebounder.
