It’s a complete oversimplification to call 90’s “fat dudes” players that were successful were the guys that played to the rules of the era. In the 90’s there’s hand checking there’s no defensive 3 seconds - teams needed bigs. It wasn’t uncommon for teams to have 3 big men on the floor at once. It’s just how the game was played. It doesn’t make it better/worse it’s just different. The 80’s?? Forget needing bigs - most people felt you could only build a championship squad around big men. Things are different these days obviously - but that all began with rule changes. Rules opening up the game. When there’s no defensive 3 seconds no hand checking so there’s now space everywhere a 3 & D guy is more valuable to a team than someone like a Charles Oakley someone like that. It’s the rules that changed that

Who else ya have to match with David Robinson, Ewing , mutumbo, mourning, sabonis ,Smits , and Daugherty lol
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443 ya ur a little off reaching a bit with Giannis honestly this is the weakest era possibly at center position I can think of but 60s was strong with wilt, russell, Thurmond, reed, Bellamy, 70s unseld, Gilmore, Lanier, Kareem, McAdoo, Walton, Willis reed fell in here as well, Dave cowens 80s a lot of centers were coming in the league now young guns that would play into the 90s but Moses, the chief, Ewing, Hakeem, Kareem, Eaton. 90s shaq, Robinson, Hakeem, Ewing, mutombo, smits, mourning, 2000s starts to fall off a bit 1 reason shaq became a god but the NBA moved to very strong PF but we got shaq, Dwight, Yao, Wallace, 2010s we really start to move more position less basketball many of the centers second as PF now it’s important to note many of these players cross over into other decades. But this list is meant more for a food for thought kinda set up.
1960-early 70s
Wilt 🐐, Cowens, Lovelette, Reed, Embry, Thurmond, Bellamy, Beatty, Kareem, Russell, Gilmore, Unseld, Kerr, Lanier and Lucas. Every one of those guys went to the hall of fame
90's forward and centers were jacked and in super form.Naturaly!!!!Best big Guy Era of all time!!!this guy is crazzzyyy!!!🤦🤦🤦
"by a shooting guard" lol he makes it seems like Kerry Kittles dominated the 90s
Kerry kittles could play tho before the knee injuries dude was a problem
@@johndavis9321 duh. When did I say he couldn't? Kittles ain't close to MJ. That's the point
No, he’s saying how could you call it the “BIG MAN ERA” if none of the big men won a thing because of Jordan. By that logic alone, it would be considered the Jordan era.
@@farrellcityking1 because Jordan is an outlier. The vast majority of the best players back then were bigs.

That 90's Knicks team is the most overrated team of all time - purely to prop up MJ
Why nobody asked him who are the players that’s out of shape in the 90s??
Just because the best player in the league(arguably the greatest player ever) happened to be the best in the league doesn’t make the fact that it was a big man era false, they can both be true. Given that many of the best players in the league:Barkely, Robinson, Hakeem, and Malone were the guys who won MVPs every year that Jordan didn’t win one. What is this logic?

This just gave me a migraine for real
This dude has zero ability to reason and be objective. How is he in the panel?
Larry bird called MJ God in sneakers. The pistons with their big men tried to kill MJ every time he came through the lane, You can’t call an era weak because a guy dominated the era that had to beat big men, that’s like saying Ja only dominates because the big men are trash, which to a degree the big men now aren’t as good as the 90’s but Ja is just better than most bigs today.
I can’t even watch this nonsense
Never bring this dude on the panel ever again
Man yall need to be revamp this whole show
What’s the qualifications for being on here?
Similar to the bozos we see on tv. It appears that maybe one of the qualifications is the lack of basketball knowledge.
.
it was a big man era. The big guys would have all the rings if the bulls didnt exist
Without the Bulls you have the following outcomes....
1992 Blazers win with Duckworth and Buck Williams
1993 suns win with PF Barkley
94 and 95 hakeem/ewing/oneal
96 sonics win with PF/C Kemp
97 and 98 jazz win with PF Malone
99 spurs win with Robinson/Duncan
Yes it was an expansion era but it wasnt trash foh FYF is trolling
When you think about top 30 players of all time. 10 of those guys played in the 90s and had a good shot at winning. Magic, Shaq, Hakeem, Pippen, Barkley, Malone, Robinson, Drexler, Zeke, Ewing, Duncan. So how can it be a trash era?
The Bulls didn`t face any elite centers. Ewing and Malone were chokers. Sonics had no size and the Suns had zero defense. Jordan didn`t want to face Hakeem in the finals. Bulls had rodman who was important against the magic and Magic were without Grant in 1996.
It was boring. The top 10 players of the 2000 clears the the top 10 of the 90s
name yo top 10 2000 and ill name my top 10 90s and i guarantee they not clearing
I can understand why he's saying that the 90s big men were out of shape. I've heard a lot of players didn't take their health seriously which is a big reason why MJ is Goated. Dude took basketball more seriously than anyone and protected his health because of it. Now calling the 90s trash is a stretch but let's be honest, MJ made that era one of the best of all time.
What does that have to do with anything? You’re basically saying because of one person the big men were trash? That’s a silly argument.
That era would have been great without MJ, but with him it's the best era of basketball.
Well you are an 1d1ot then cause those players played 82 games
The centers in the 90s was better than the centers from 00's to present
DAVID ROBINSON must've not existed

Embarrassing
It wasn’t a big man era it was a strong, an era of the strongest Jordan was the strongest. He was not shooting 3’s he was dunking on them
Isn’t an out of shape big man dominating our league right now??
Talking about the other gys running through the top while using MJ to make his point. Good job 🙃
Have you ever considered that a guard dominated a big man era because he was the greatest player that ever lived?😂

KG, Sheed, CWebb played in the 90s too. They weren’t out of shape. Kevin Willis, Horace Grant, Harvey Grant, Rodman, AC Green, Grant Long, Dale Davis, Anthony Davis weren’t out of shape either.
I think of only 3 players that were 4s or 5s that were out of shape. Oliver Miller, Terry Mills, and post lockout Shawn Kemp.
And Oliver Miller was a starter for those early 90s Utah jazz I believed
@t.r.o.y.therighteousobeysy8358 he started a significant amount of games for only two years and those two years were 5 years apart.
Let's see the "stud" centers Jordan faced the Finals (Vlade Divac, Kevin Duckworth, Oliver Miller, Irvin Johnson and Greg Ostertag. You see his point? It’s the rules that changed that
Horace grant, Anthony mason was a point forward himself.
