It’s NICE to see people giving an actual honest fuckin review and not bullshit marketing talking points!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥💯
These guys review on this bike is very fun to watch. Their honesty does comes across making it pretty easy to trust what they are saying. I would trust them on a date with my daughters.
That purple/black is sick!!
Enjoyed the commentary-I really appreciate the honesty! Hope you review the Trek Madone and Emonda.
Madone review is being edited right now. The emonda is really great but I haven’t owned one in a while so I’m not sure we’ll make a video about it at this point
Nice honest review! I’m surprised by the handling comments, if the geometry did not change from your previous sl7, what do you think makes the difference in handling? Or do you think SL7 didn’t handle well either?
To clarify I think Trey is talking about that in relation to other bikes. He never had an sl7 to complete it to.
@@bicyclestationwhatever Trey! Trek is heavy!
Great bike but the Rapide CL2 wheelset is a bit of an anchor. I debated on getting the CLX2’s but they are only 70-80g lighter and cost significantly more. For the riding I do (loads of hills) I reckon I need lighter and more responsive wheels. Perhaps I need the Alpinists as well and swapout the wheels depending on the ride course. The Rapide’s are probably over hyped…..OR I need those new special team issue ultra bling Rapides 🤷♂️
I have a SL8 and like the ride and how the bike handles. Disagree that the ride is harsh. Tire pressure makes a big difference. I ride tubeless and with the 26mm tires and tire pressure in the 70s. Yes, you can feel the road at the front end but not terribly. That connection with the road makes the bike excel in descents. Meanwhile, the rear end is smooth and comfortable in the saddle.
In my opinion, he doesn’t like the tarmac. This is the first review that compares both bikes. Other reviewers has good review on sl8. I'm not buying their review.
Check out the new Canyon Aeroad with adjustable handle bars. Looks neat to me
I can’t afford to buy a nice bike every year, I get the best I can and stretch it out for a hot minute. Im still rocking my 2018 S-Works SL6 ultralight Rim brakes 😮💨 il wait for an SL10 lol
Preorder now lol
@@bicyclestation Not a bad idea 🤣
Curious to see a comparison to the Madone since that’s ultimately what I went with after considering the SL8 Pro ( I went with the gen 7 Madone SL7 due to price)
Should be the next upload on the channel
You chose well, I'll probably go Madone too if I can't cop an old disc Venge Vias
All the negative sayers to the sl8, try tours magazine review which one is the best bike?
Question for you guys and your sizing. I'm 6'0" tall with a 30" inseam. I seem to be right in between a 56 and 58 and could probably make either one work. I've had a proper fit done before on a Venge Vias and I was on 56. Also have a 56 last gen Venge. I had a bike shop put me on a 58 for an SL7. I'm trying to decide the optimal size for the SL8. I've reviewed the geometry charts but thought I'd check and see what you recommend. On the SL7, I think I was running 10mm of spacers. Seems like some subtle geometry changes between SL7 and SL8 but overall very similar. But looks to be a 56 with 25 spacers and 110 stem or a 58 with 10mm spacers and a 100mm stem.
Can you stand over the 58 comfortably?
@@bicyclestation Ya no issues. Don't have the SL7 anymore but didn't have any issues with stand over.
If you liked the 58 sl7 I think you’d like the 58 sl8
If you want comfort, double wrap your bars, watch your line and keep it pushing
We're supposed to be road cycling, there's no crying in road cycling
Comfort's the most overused word in race bikes as of late, just go get yourself a fitness bike already, but for me and my household it's the Venge all day
Would you say better climbing feel than the Aethos?
Great bike. Have either of you road it with Shimano?
So cool to see Cannondale employees going undercover to do a “bike review” of the SL8. They should end the review by saying please check out the SuperSix Evo 2024! 😂😂
Man Cannondales been bought and sold so many times it’s hard to even think of as the same brand anymore. I feel like it’s kinda lost it’s identity
You're so right..after 40miles on my 2022 s-works tarmac sl7 i would feel so beat up..i was going to upgrade to the SL8 but i didnt like the look of it..they also claimed it was more comfortable than the SL7..i recently started looking at the trek madone SLR gen7 for comfort and speed..whats your take on the trek madone SLR?? Is it as fast as the SL7 tarmac..???
It beats the tarmac in both categories. But stay tuned for an upcoming video to learn the details on that.
@bicyclestation ok thanks..I just called my bike shop and told them to order me the all black madone SLR frame..ill carry my ultegra 12 speed di2 drive train and wheels over to the new frame..I love the Tarmac but it secretly beats me..i would feel it hours after the ride..when im comfortable I tend to ride longer and put out more power which makes me faster .the tarmac is the "quickest" bike I've ever owned but I think the "madone" is faster and smoother..I've asked over 20 people that own the new madone and they love it.(comfort, speed, less aggressive too)..
I just got the Madone SL gen 7 (detailed review in the works) and it’s an absolute rocket and comfy I imagine the SLR would be even better
@@UltimateTuner10 niiiiice
@@LOGICAL-JAYI sold my sl7 n got the Madone SLR.. never look back since 😊. Comfy wise. It is way more comfy than my SL7.
when is the comparison with the trek madone slr coming?
Its being edited right now. We did some real world timed testing that took a while to film.
The bike only looks ok with the Rapide cockpit. Otherwise it’s a pig
Not only are the headset spacers ugly but the whole “headtube extends past the fork” makes it look like a fan guy with his big belly hanging over his skinny waist. The System Six has the same ugly look
Good stuff
What will Trey going buy instead of sl8? Trek?
You should pick
@@bicyclestationreckon dogma F handles better?
Coming from a Pinarello Paris to an SL8.... I couldn't disagree more about stiffness. The SL8, compared to the Paris rides like a cloud.
Compared to the SL7, Emonda and Madone the SL8 is the stiffest bike of the ones ive ridden.
I liked your vid :-) THX for sharing your opinions :-)
so aerodynamic's wise, SL8 is not the best.. Thanks for honest opinion
No problem. It’s not like terrible but I don’t think its the best bike for aero.
Sl8 is not a pure aero bike. It's trying to compromise every aspect of racing bike. Not the best aero, not the best when it comes to comfort but the Roubaix prioritises that category. It's a better bike in it's category. I have the Roubaix and I will not give that up but add sl8 for racing ride.
what is currently the fastest overall bike then?
Probably the Madone or s5
which madone and s5, can you be more specific please. thanks.
Scott Foil RC Pro
😮she’s niceee
Sleep Cycles T 🔥 🔥 🔥
Specialized and its stores have to make some money somewhere ?
No one get excited for the Tarmacs anymore. People are giddy when reviewing SL2 - 4. Now it’s expensive junk.
We’re gonna do sl8 vs sl6. I think the sl8 is definitely better but I think it will make an interesting video. Realistically I think the problem is that people want the venge and they are being forced to pick the tarmac if they wanna stick with specialized.
What's the frame size
Trey rides a 58. Jesse had a 56
@@bicyclestationCould you name me the body height of both with the inner leg length?
lower the seat 6 inch for comfort
Good call
Boring bike. Long live the Venge
