I don't really care about line distributions, but this is very difficult to ignore. Like, really, you can't tell me that nobody in charge of creating the song didn't realize. Rosé and JiSoo could have better hairstyles, outfits and more lines, but well. The song is great, but that's my opinion.

Jisoo's vocals are really underrated. I found her part memorable in this song though it was really short. And she's improved her English. Hope she gets to shine.
The pre-chorus and chorus almost sounds the same that's why many people go "that's the chorus?" Or "I didn't realize that was the chorus" it's pretty underwhelming honestly. The structure of the song didn't really have climax and the lyrics don't have depth in it just repetitive and stagnant for the sake of being "catchy".
ikr its so catchy and it creates this cool atmoshpere which has such a great contrast with Jennie's and Jisoo's warm voices and Lisa's lower register raps. It's really a great attempt for Blackpink to do an American pop song, I think what they bring to the genre is really unique. Not to mention this a really dope collab between the west and the east, both sides really blended well together and isn't just phoning in with each other.
Not all youtubers hate it, so many people love it and just that u didnt like it doesn't mean that everyone should hate it, I mean I myself loved the song I don't know...

Overall, I don't like the song : yeah it's catchy at first but it falls flat pretty quickly except for some parts like Rosé pre-chorus(?) Lisa's Rap and Jennie Ari-like lines. The beat is too simple, the chorus is non-existent and very forgetable. Also yeah, everyone pointed it already but line distribution was shitty, especially for Jisoo :'( So ofc I'll support the girls as I always did but for me this title track is weak af :/
The catchiness really lasted for me though, the song created such a cool atmosphere that Rosé and Selena did so well capturing all the while having a nice contrast to Jennie's and Jisoo's warm voices. Not to mention Lisa was just on a whole nother level confidence. Overall, I think the song is a really great attempt for Blackpink in making an American Pop song, and the collaboration between the West and the East looks so genuine it made everything all so natural.

Thank you so much for paying attention to Jisoo, I am an OT4 stan, but I do feel upset about this song line distribution too. Jisoo stans have been crazy because of this unfairness, I cant blame them. I just wish YG will be more consider about this problem, so our fandom can be united. Ok I'm not a blink nor a real fan I just listen to their songs sometimes and this song was so disappointing. I only listened to it twice and my opinion could change but like all blackpink songs you can't listen to it more than a couple of times. First of all I'm not really a fan of the song in general. Like the sounds are just annoying for me. Then this little part of actual lyrics is so cringe for me like 30 sec just of "ice cream chillin". The song is 20% actual lyrics, maybe 30% annoying sounds and 50% just a loop of a few words. No creativity. It literally sounds like they spend 30 min on lyrics and then decided that they are finished and only repeated everything. Plus the line distribution is shit but apparently Jisoo and Rosé will sing Selena's part when the perform live in SK. And maybe I'm the only one but I couldn't really detect which voice belonged to which member. Like Jisoo was singing and I couldn't recognize it. At the second listen it was easier but their voices don't stand out so much. So that was my honest opinion and before some angry blinks come at me: Get over it and get a life. Isn't that hard.

Actually I don't think selena is the kinda person to release a song named 'ice cream'. Plus, her voice is so heavily autotuned in this one. Selena is trying go for more of that nasal and sharp vocal nowadays the way she did for her 'rare' album. This song is not on either side and that's just so messed up. Edit: After seeing the barrage of petty remarks and complaints (not to mention the ridiculous spam comments on the MV) and hateful comments people have been directing at the members for the line distribution, I'm not even disappointed by Jisoo lacks of lines anymore. I'm more disappointed by the response from so called "fans." The girls worked hard and are very proud of this release...let's not take away from that and just be thankful for their hard work and the amazing song and MV they managed to put out despite not being able to meet Selena in person to film it. This is just a pre-release single off of their upcoming album and it is such a GREAT song! And we can't expect equal line distribution for every B-side song in the album. It's just not realistic. ----------------- Tbh after the chorus when it was Selena's verse again, and then Rosè's, I was like "oh no, oh no..." when it became glaringly obvious that Jisoo would barely get a line, if any. Hoping that Jisoo will be able to shine more and compensate for the lack of lines in this collab in The Album. Ice Cream is a good song and a very well done collab. Congrats to BP and Selena... this song surely will blow up! Also, I really love the chorus especially when I first heard Rosé sing it + Selena's lines and delivery was great too! Jenlisa did amazing and Jisoo was gorgeous and adorable I also liked her verse... This song is not it. People keep saying they expected more but this is their 15th song? And the last 4 have been underwhelming. I think people have this bp in their head that doesn't actually exist in their content. They got so big off so little and we haven't gotten to see range or the real extent of their talent whatever it may be so we build them up so much that they can't possibly live up to that expectation. Artists are allowed to have songs that aren't "cultural resets" or "bangers" or "sotys"--most do. But when you have so little and everyone is waiting on it--you have less room to deliver something that isn't epic. And this just isn't epic. You are a really honest person. A different song, according to my opinion, is the same thing, the clothes and the song's color, which is good, new on Blackpink, and finally something in color. But the arrangement of the vocals is not missing, most of which are the singing of Silina, Lisa and Jenny, which made the song boring despite the ice cream and the summer atmosphere, but it does not express summer, and if filming in the open air with changing the song’s ritual and arranging the singers and wearing summer clothes more comfortable than that would be wonderful

The pre-chorus and chorus almost sounds the same that's why many people go "that's the chorus?" Or "I didn't realize that was the chorus" it's pretty underwhelming honestly. The structure of the song didn't really have climax and the lyrics don't have depth in it just repetitive and stagnant for the sake of being "catchy".
ikr its so catchy and it creates this cool atmoshpere which has such a great contrast with Jennie's and Jisoo's warm voices and Lisa's lower register raps. It's really a great attempt for Blackpink to do an American pop song, I think what they bring to the genre is really unique. Not to mention this a really dope collab between the west and the east, both sides really blended well together and isn't just phoning in with each other.

Overall, I don't like the song : yeah it's catchy at first but it falls flat pretty quickly except for some parts like Rosé pre-chorus(?) Lisa's Rap and Jennie Ari-like lines. The beat is too simple, the chorus is non-existent and very forgetable. Also yeah, everyone pointed it already but line distribution was shitty, especially for Jisoo :'( So ofc I'll support the girls as I always did but for me this title track is weak af :/

The catchiness really lasted for me though, the song created such a cool atmosphere that Rosé and Selena did so well capturing all the while having a nice contrast to Jennie's and Jisoo's warm voices. Not to mention Lisa was just on a whole nother level confidence. Overall, I think the song is a really great attempt for Blackpink in making an American Pop song, and the collaboration between the West and the East looks so genuine it made everything all so natural.

Ok I'm not a blink nor a real fan I just listen to their songs sometimes and this song was so disappointing. I only listened to it twice and my opinion could change but like all blackpink songs you can't listen to it more than a couple of times. First of all I'm not really a fan of the song in general. Like the sounds are just annoying for me. Then this little part of actual lyrics is so cringe for me like 30 sec just of "ice cream chillin". The song is 20% actual lyrics, maybe 30% annoying sounds and 50% just a loop of a few words. No creativity. It literally sounds like they spend 30 min on lyrics and then decided that they are finished and only repeated everything. Plus the line distribution is shit but apparently Jisoo and Rosé will sing Selena's part when the perform live in SK. And maybe I'm the only one but I couldn't really detect which voice belonged to which member. Like Jisoo was singing and I couldn't recognize it. At the second listen it was easier but their voices don't stand out so much.
So that was my honest opinion and before some angry blinks come at me: Get over it and get a life. Isn't that hard.

Edit: After seeing the barrage of petty remarks and complaints (not to mention the ridiculous spam comments on the MV) and hateful comments people have been directing at the members for the line distribution, I'm not even disappointed by Jisoo lacks of lines anymore. I'm more disappointed by the response from so called "fans." The girls worked hard and are very proud of this release...let's not take away from that and just be thankful for their hard work and the amazing song and MV they managed to put out despite not being able to meet Selena in person to film it. Tbh after the chorus when it was Selena's verse again, and then Rosè's, I was like "oh no, oh no..." when it became glaringly obvious that Jisoo would barely get a line, if any. She did get a short verse, but I don't understand why they couldn't give her another verse, even if it would have been in korean... I am quite disappointed about that... Hoping that Jisoo will be able to shine more and compensate for the lack of lines in this collab in The Album. Ice Cream is a good song and a very well done collab. Congrats to BP and Selena... this song surely will blow up! Also, I really love the chorus especially when I first heard Rosé sing it + Selena's lines and delivery was great too! Jenlisa did amazing and Jisoo was gorgeous and adorable I also liked her verse... This song is not it. People keep saying they expected more but this is their 15th song? And the last 4 have been underwhelming. I think people have this bp in their head that doesn't actually exist in their content. They got so big off so little and we haven't gotten to see range or the real extent of their talent whatever it may be so we build them up so much that they can't possibly live up to that expectation. Artists are allowed to have songs that aren't "cultural resets" or "bangers" or "sotys"--most do. But when you have so little and everyone is waiting on it--you have less room to deliver something that isn't epic. And this just isn't epic. Idk...they're the "biggest gg" right now according to the numbers--I feel like they should be according to the content then too...but I just don't see it time and time again.

As much as I love Blackpink, this song was extremely disappointing to me. I feel like it was just released to BE released ; the line distribution is very bad, the choruses are lame and it’s overall basic. For me, it really is another basic American summer song. I did not found that "Blackpink spirit" at all. (Again I LOVE THE GIRLS AND I AM NOT HATING ON THEM THIS IS CALLED AN OPINION !)

I will literally never get it. Like aside from aesthetics, I just don’t understand what people are stanning. Maybe people really like aggressive repetitive edm with weird off tone verses?? Maybe it’s literally just the look? Lisa’s rap is unique and cool I guess (tho I always feel like she’s trying to do an accent and that’s not cool). But in all their songs, you never really get to hear their voices long enough to know if they can really sing, their choreography is always simple, they don’t write or compose-genuinely, what are you stanning?

i came really late, but the fact that Ariana, her producers, Selena's producers, and YG producers touched this song, is obviously a disaster, if it was only Teddy or YG producers, it would've been a little better, but when you put 10 different people into making one song, it all comes down into a flaming pile of ice cream.
