If you're thinking about Jisoo as her own person while watching this you'll realize that the song actually fits her very well. Given her personality. Calm, refreshing and elegant. Blackpink as blackpink is a savage and cool girl group. While she's a member, all of them have their own style as individual artists. No hate, just love. :))
I personally loved the visuals jisoo is of course looking as gorgeous as ever and the sets, wardrobe and cinematography were on point. Regarding the song i feel like it’s very Jisoo if that makes sense, and by that i mean that it’s a song only she can do because it represents her so much. I felt like it was a very refreshing and original song that we don’t hear often these days.
Flower is very unusual sound in kpop. And jisoo killed it🔥🔥🔥 Edit- it's vibe is not same as solo as some saying, solo gives confident vibes, and flower gives trappy but elegant vibes.

This mv was shot with 35mm flim. From what I've read that's what contributes to the slightly grainy texture and provides "pop" to certain colors such as red an yellow. The outdoor scenes were filmed at a Hollywood film lot, Universal Studios, in LA. This is exactly what I was looking for, something slow, sensual, elegant, mixed with a catchy melody and topped off with Jisoo's amazing voiced and charm.
I don't know what others are dissatisfied about, if this song is like any other K-pop songs, they'd be like, nothing new and proceed to complain about copying other K-pop songs, or it's another recycled song, now they're being served with something that's actually so unique and screams of Jisoo, still unhappy. I love this song so much and it's stuck in my head since I listened to it, been humming this on loop. She did an amazing job here, definitely ate and left no crumbs!

Same here! At first I had the same opinion as others that the song was nothing special, but after I listened to it a couple of times now this song is stuck in my head. I think this song is mainly for the Korean music market because if you notice she’s singing 95% of the song is in Korean and written in a poetic way.

I like Jisoo's song. It's very subtle and catchy at the same time. It's quite a complicated song and it suits her very well. The video gives a noble and quiet vibe. It's what you expect from Jisoo.
The Song is like the ones back in the day , when in korea their songs would be like a poem. she's doing the same but adding moderate songs or vibes now to it, that"s why i think this is different and unique . And If you notice her outfits describe a different flower and she had this song out on a special day in korea for couples. If you don't understand the song, you won't get the video. If you understand the song, and more importantly understand Jisoo, you will think it's a masterpiece.
I honestly think people have such a closed concept of kpop at this point that it's almost irreversible. Apparently everything has to be one way, that's why I love Flower, because it shows that kpop doesn't have a single identity. It reminds me of DALsooobin's song Katchup and I love it, because Katchup is an unknown gem, but Flower by Jisoo's hand can be heard and loved by millions of people.

This was filmed on film camera that makes the video so stylistic/cinematic which also makes the bright colors really pop out like making the red stands out so much. That's the detail I love so much about the MV cause it's like watching a short film because Jisoo is also giving us her acting chops conveying so much emotions with her face

Most people watched the video with a BlackPink mindset, but it’s not about BlackPink, it’s about Jisoo. All the members solos were chosen based on what suited their own style, not what the fans wants them to do. Jisoo’s style is elegant and simple. If you came to watch this expecting something far out her zone, then you’re going to get disappointed. I think this suited her so well. The music video is also a masterpiece if you piece together the visuals and lyrics, together they are telling a story which I feel most people looked over.

Wow Aaron, the first few seconds in and you noticed how nice the car was immediately… but I didn’t I hear one comment on Jisoo(beauty?vocals?dance?fits?the fact that she’s finally got her solo after all these year?)throughout the entire reaction. Which is a huge point considering this track was right up Jisoo’s alley. Blackpink is Blackpink but each of the Pinks are their own person and their solos reflect their personalities including Jisoo. Jisoo had creative input into her music and video and it suits her. It’s all good for those who don’t care for the song. They are entitled to their opinion. Exactly!!! We all have our faves but that doesn't mean we are going to like everything they put out. Heck, my faves have released songs that I didn't add to my playlist or would listen to again. That's ok. I've seen comments saying he should stop reacting to BP or their solos since he doesn't like them. I've actually seen some of his reactions where he did like the song and or mv. I don't stan BP but as they put out new songs I will still give them a chance and check them out. Who knows, I may end up liking something at the end. Personally this is my type of song which is near traditional. This fits Jisoo so well due to her voice. Only a warm and slow song can catch her beauty and voice. Her beauty is also traditional. She has those traditional features. The music behind was great and especially lyrics which are musically poetic because I wouldn't like it in another language. I guess you expected something else... I have to say as a Korean, parts of the song give a hint of Korean older music vibe mixed in to it. Not super traditional, more of 70-80s Korean music or the poem, I can't put the finger on it, but it is very Korean, which describes Jisoo so well and it's probably why it's so different from other BP members' solos. I think the RUclips channel DJ차돌 explained about this pretty well. It's hard to know unless you know Korea's retro music.

I think the M/V has a good story tho but i think a lot of people don’t get it or distracted with the visuals. I interpreted the chapter 1 : NEXT DAY chapter 2: SAME TIME 3 : SAME PLACE as different Jisoos like a multiverse but all the jisoos has same experiences in love . The first scene in the hotel you could see her anxious when someone knocked on her door and she’s avoiding eye contact with the house keeper and she’s glaring or side eyed the elevator boy giving off a vibe that she’s pissed . She’s trapped at the hotel [ hotel for me is like the relationship and hotel is where you stay temporarily]And notice how all of her scenes in the hotel she always has some necklace , choker and white string ribbon on her neck i think it symbolizes some sort of a leash and at the end she breaks her necklace and took off her choker symbolizes that she’s free or leaving . And the chapter 1 NEXT DAY the scene where she’s in the car means she left the hotel . Chapter 2 SAME TIME now she’s dancing and or rejoicing her freedom . Chapter 3 SAME PLACE you could see her walking on the street and she noticed the pearl necklace and she’s sort of reminiscing. And the end she’s happy that she left .. the last scene where she takes off the choker was really good . 😊

The song is leaning toward traditional Korean. Koreans who reacted to this said that the lyricism is reminiscent of old Korean songs (from the 60s and 70s) so perhaps that's why it does not resonate a lot to foreigners or to usual kpop fans in general. It might be a grower to some.
For me this solo is so good , i love when we couldn't expect the music , like we all thought it would be the typical type of songs Blackpink always give which got so freaking boring, like literally i can make music for bp blindly . 'Flower' has a pluck,caribbean feel to it. It's calm,it's pretty and it's her feeling free like a butterfly. Other kpop stans are trying to make others hate Jisoo's solo simply because they don't like it. The genre in the chorus part is actually trot music- a very unique and representation of Korean emotions. You may want to study this musical genre more and you may like it more. This is really really original and genuine Korean music. I envision a good future with this music genre.
Frankly speaking , I rather love her visual more than the song itself , I think this song doesn't make Jisoo shine and present her talent as should be. I really love her voice in latest Bornpink album especially "The Happiest Girl" that so stunning when I first hearing her voice but I dont feel it with this solo song.

For someone who streamed (for 16 hrs after released) and still streaming this video after 48hrs on multiple devices ( with volumes on). A song is bound to make you feel sick after playing it several times no matter how hard you stan an idol. This song didn't do that tho. I think it's soft tone helps. It's a song that is easy to the ears and will grow on you as you listen to it several times and it's catchy on top of that. Just my random two cents.

Jisoo seems more comfortable with performing with the girls. It was very brave of her too do this solo song even though she really didn't know what she wanted to do in her solo but she had to quickly make a decision but her choreography was really good with the dancers she should pat her self in the back for that she did well. she seems nervous performing on her own especially on tour like every time she performed she got stronger but she still looks a little uncomfortable . But i think for some of camilla cabellio it was hard for her cause she never did a Spanish style English song and it was out of her comfort zone she has never done any song like that before. But i am impressed though on how many views she has on her new song . Also alot of people are obsessed with her because of brands she promotes so its a really big boost for her.

This mv was shot with 35mm flim. From what I've read that's what contributes to the slightly grainy texture and provides "pop" to certain colors such as red an yellow. The outdoor scenes were filmed at a Hollywood film lot, Universal Studios, in LA. This is exactly what I was looking for, something slow, sensual, elegant, mixed with a catchy melody and topped off with Jisoo's amazing voiced and charm.
Jisoo was stunning and quite glamorous, like a real queen. ❤ She deserves more recognition for her agency.

I don't know what others are dissatisfied about, if this song is like any other K-pop songs, they'd be like, nothing new and proceed to complain about copying other K-pop songs, or it's another recycled song, now they're being served with something that's actually so unique and screams of Jisoo, still unhappy. Most people watched the video with a BlackPink mindset, but it’s not about BlackPink, it’s about Jisoo. All the members solos were chosen based on what suited their own style, not what the fans wants them to do. Jisoo’s style is elegant and simple. If you came to watch this expecting something far out her zone, then you’re going to get disappointed. I think this suited her so well. The music video is also a masterpiece if you piece together the visuals and lyrics, together they are telling a story which I feel most people looked over.

Exactly!!! We all have our faves but that doesn't mean we are going to like everything they put out. Heck, my faves have released songs that I didn't add to my playlist or would listen to again. Personally this is my type of song which is near traditional. This fits Jisoo so well due to her voice. Only a warm and slow song can catch her beauty and voice. Her beauty is also traditional. I have to say as a Korean, parts of the song give a hint of Korean older music vibe mixed in to it. Not super traditional, more of 70-80s Korean music or the poem, I can't put the finger on it, but it is very Korean, which describes Jisoo so well and it's probably why it's so different from other BP members' solos. I think the RUclips channel DJ차돌 explained about this pretty well. It's hard to know unless you know Korea's retro music.

I think the M/V has a good story tho but i think a lot of people don’t get it or distracted with the visuals. I interpreted the chapter 1 : NEXT DAY chapter 2: SAME TIME 3 : SAME PLACE as different Jisoos like a multiverse but all the jisoos has same experiences in love . The first scene in the hotel you could see her anxious when someone knocked on her door and she’s avoiding eye contact with the house keeper and she’s glaring or side eyed the elevator boy giving off a vibe that she’s pissed . She’s trapped at the hotel [ hotel for me is like the relationship and hotel is where you stay temporarily]And notice how all of her scenes in the hotel she always has some necklace , choker and white string ribbon on her neck i think it symbolizes some sort of a leash and at the end she breaks her necklace and took off her choker symbolizes that she’s free or leaving . And the chapter 1 NEXT DAY the scene where she’s in the car means she left the hotel . Chapter 2 SAME TIME now she’s dancing and or rejoicing her freedom . Chapter 3 SAME PLACE you could see her walking on the street and she noticed the pearl necklace and she’s sort of reminiscing. And the end she’s happy that she left .. the last scene where she takes off the choker was really good . 😊

The song is leaning toward traditional Korean. Koreans who reacted to this said that the lyricism is reminiscent of old Korean songs (from the 60s and 70s) so perhaps that's why it does not resonate a lot to foreigners or to usual kpop fans in general. It might be a grower to some.

For someone who streamed (for 16 hrs after released) and still streaming this video after 48hrs on multiple devices ( with volumes on). A song is bound to make you feel sick after playing it several times no matter how hard you stan an idol. This song didn't do that tho. I think it's soft tone helps. It's a song that is easy to the ears and will grow on you as you listen to it several times and it's catchy on top of that. Just my random two cents.

Jisoo seems more comfortable with performing with the girls. It was very brave of her too do this solo song even though she really didn't know what she wanted to do in her solo but she had to quickly make a decision but her choreography was really good with the dancers she should pat her self in the back for that she did well. she seems nervous performing on her own especially on tour like every time she performed she got stronger but she still looks a little uncomfortable . But i think for some of camilla cabellio it was hard for her cause she never did a Spanish style English song and it was out of her comfort zone she has never done any song like that before. But i am impressed though on how many views she has on her new song . Also alot of people are obsessed with her because of brands she promotes so its a really big boost for her.

appreciate the honesty aaron ofc the jisoo stans are gonna call this song a masterpiece but everyone has a different opinion for my taste i think yg did a lazy job when it comes to the creative aspect of this project i will not be suprised if jisoo didnt have alot to do with the creation of the song and story i wish that the song had something personal that could really identify with jisoo but i guess if yg planned the song beforehand then it definitely fits jisoo the most amongst the group.

Of course he will post videos to these because people ask for them and it's his job.
