I am soooo glad that you offered a quicker way to present when making banana pudding and, especially, the part about the pudding being instant and the bananas being ripe and sweet while removing overly ripened areas. It tends to disturb me a little when people, constantly, put in the crude "end" parts of the banana and "overly" ripened areas. Thanks for being down to earth without compromising taste!

Once again Chris you showed another version of making an a traditional dish Ive never seen it made with maringe it probably gives it a nice airy texture. I usally top that last layer with whip cream also mix a lil in the pudding mix and I sprinkle crumble wafers as the topping for a apperance . Thanks for sharing!

Ms. C.....I've had bp both ways and I prefer scratch....Anyways got a tip 4 u ....2 prevent bananas from browning ..slice them and add 1 tsp. or 2 tsp (depending on amount ) of fresh lemon juice and stir coating bananas. ....they will not oxidize!....same with apples for apple pie

To keep a bunch of bananas fresh for longer, wrap the stems in some plastic wrap. Re-cover the bananas with the wrap after removing one. This method prevents ethylene gas, produced naturally in the ripening process, from reaching other parts of the fruit and prematurely ripening it.

Quick tip for making homemade custard. Whisk up ingredients except any butter and vanilla then microwave 2 minutes...whisk, 2 more minutes...whisk, 1 minute...whisk, and then 1 more minute if needed till thick enough. Usually about 6 minutes is enough. Add in butter and flavorings after. Can make meringue while microwave is doing the other work. No standing over stove stirring. It really works and time is based on power of microwave. I understand ease of instant pudding mixes but we need to watch our sodium here so do the scratch microwave method instead. But the microwave is a game changer for me for puddings. Works for a chocolate custard type pie as well. Your pudding looks good and I do enjoy your channel.

I find it hard to find french vanilla at my store do I just add vanilla extract to my mix. Also I just tried the cream cheese and condensed milk with cool whip for the first time with the pudding and it was amazing. Chris you should try this one. It's really easy and so good. I love to watch you cook. You remind me if my mom and dad's cooking, that real southern style. I miss my mom so much.

Ms. Chris I make this the old fashion way and this way too... I like both! This is quicker esp. when people ask me to make it for them or a special occasion. I put lemon juice on my bananas so they will not turn brown...I'll try mine with the half n half next time to see the difference it makes. Thanks for sharing !

Yes this is on the order of how I make it only I used Condensed Milk too and Heavy Cream in it, Plus half n half. Because I have an egg allergy and it's so difficult to make custards without eggs, even ice creams. So I have to make Ice cream w/o eggs too. Then.i make a Stabilized Whip Cream out of Heavy Cream and gelatin to put on top. ( have allergy to Cool Whip too) This is a Fine representation. This Made Me want some. Gonna Make This Today! Thank You, Hon. Much Love and Appreciation ♡♡♡

I make one of my versions just like this. The only exception is I add whip cream in the layers of pudding. I normally let it sit overnight so the cookies can get kind of soft. But people should definitely try this version because it's less work than making your own custard and it's tasty.

Hi Ms.Chris, I love watching your videos. I make Banana Pudding all the time but I make an instant one. It's always a hit whenever I make it. I too use the French Vanilla and Banana flavored instant puddings. However, I don't make a meringue.... I use Cool Whip on the top. I also pour my pudding in right away to prevent it from setting as I too want to make sure all of the cookies are covered. You have definitely given me another way to try my recipe. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks Miss Chris for the new twist with (French Vanilla & banana creme) pudding mix. I'm from the south and my mama taught me how to make banana pudding when I was in my teens. I've always made my pudding fresh but since I've gotten older (now 65) & arthritis has gotten in my hands I will try your new short cut & see if my kids & grandchildren can tell the difference, lol 😁. I promise to let you know the results 🤣🤣🤣. Love your channel & I can't wait to start baking again.

I love banana pudding and was really scared to try the recipe, because I do not like banana cream to well. I tell you this banana pudding is really good! And taste like homemade.

I hope the Nilla Water makers are watching this video. Nilla Wafers cost too much money for Ms. Chris AND us not to have a perfect box of cookies.

So true, in all the years I've bought Nilla wafers I've never seen a boxes like that. You're exactly right the Baker didn't allow the cookies to cool properly before packaging. 🤔🤔🤔 why???

Paulette Liggett and others... it was probably a malfunctioning part on the assembly machine.. where packaged!!!

99 cent store ones taste just fine to me. I crumble up broken ones to sprinkle on top also.
