- Two big guns from the Mickey Thompson camp battle it out!! Not really. We just compare these two great tyres in the studio. Both of these tyres are built for fun on and off the road but what are the differences and there are a few! Check out the video, leave your comments below and make sure if you have put some km's on these bad boys, to leave a review!

As always,
Thanks for watching! - Авто/Мото
Baja boss AT owner here, 2 years and 60k miles later absolutely the best choice on the market for me. Lots of daily driving highway with and without loads. Never have been slowed down by rain, ice or snow, drive right past everyone else without a slip. Will
Buy again and again and again
I have the EXP.
It's slightly more comfortable onroad and quieter than a muddy.
But make no mistake, they are much more hard-core than a typical AT.
I been buying Mickey Thompson tires over 25 years i have a set of 5 baja boss m/t on my yota fj cruiser , a set of 5 mickey Thompson mtz on my 05 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon a set of 5 Mickey Thompson legend on my 07 land rover lr3 , i think all i mention works great looks great it makes me feel that when people who bought other brands of tires wished they bought Mickey Thompson tires for me this what i roll with i love it when they introduce new tires 😊
No one has done a good proper 3 peak comparison review. I would love to see you all do one sometime.
Now there's an idea. I like that 👍
Have noted it down for further research. Thanks!
Yesssss
Thanks for showing the comparison. I'm going to be in the market in the near future
I got 37s exp legend done my first rotation love the tire pretty quiet done pretty well in the snow and the rain I have no complaints about the tire
Thank u for this video. I have a jk and looking to get tires. I off-road once a month but nothing too crazy so I’m debating between the two
A comparison of all available 3pmsf tires would be awesome!
Great review thanks.
This guy is great, funny. Good video brother lol
This is funny, great video bro
Haha well you had me at the nose tread depth test, then topped it off with the swipe about looking fantastic at the shopping mall. So I’m assuming the legends will have better on road manners?
My Kenda Klever AT2's outperformed KO2 off road. I'd be interested in seeing it compared.
The Baja Boss looks great. I can’t wait to compare them against the ATZs I currently have. They might hurt the sales of the KO2s a bit purely because how they look with those nice big side binders.
Yeah, they're going to be hard to beat. My experience with them was pretty great - I've got a long term video dropping today, hopefully!
hi im interested in the long term road test on the baja legend exp ?
Please help me. Maxxis RAZR AT's vs Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. Is the price difference worth it
I was in Angel Fire New Mexico recently running the Baja Boss AT they are the best tires I’ve run in snow hands down
Thank you! That's actually incredibly useful to me. I have been leaning towards Baja Boss AT's because I just started traveling to the Enchanted Circle and will be doing so regularly from now on!
@@garymcdonnell i agree with him i went away from baja boss to at3 falken and nitto ridge grappler and toyo open country i live in washington crazy snow ice muddy trails rain and i just reordered baja boss today 😅 because thats by far the best tire i had
At 2.05 into your presentation you claim, "the Baja Boss is assymetric, *which means you can only run it one direction*"... when what we think you really mean is that the tyres are marked one side "OUTSIDE" and must be mounted on each wheel thusly. Two of the tyres, then will be running in the "opposite" direction when mounted and going down the road...
Otherwise, can't fault your great videos (save for the unusual "nose" tread block siping test) and we thank you for your efforts. This new Baja Boss seems a great tyre.
Dud how can i get ahold of one of those nose gages ???
How do the legends do in the rain? I heard the boss does amazing in the rain.
Good info!
Which is heavier? Baja boss at or falken At3w?
Can you please give us some feedback on the Legend EXP on the Toyota 300 please that would be kindly appreciated.
What’s everyone’s feedback on both these tyres would love to hear.
Sipes are not full depth though? My wildpeaks have sipes after 58,000 miles on my f-250
I’ve got the Baja Legends on my Ranger and I love them. They’re quiet on the bitumen and really aggressive off road and in the mud. I’ve had BFG KO2 AT’s and Maxxis Bighorn MT’s in the past. The Legend EXP’s outperform the Maxxis in the mud, and stick to the bitumen better than the KO2’s
What the hell is a bitumen?

So 1 year later what are your thoughts? I’ve had my Baja Boss AT for 2 years and 22k miles (35,400km) and they’re already shot. On a Chevy 2500 Duramax.
I’m debating on giving them another try or going with the Legend EXP.
Looking at the MT Legend exps now and will be buying them today. Changing from the KO2s so hoping its great on and offroad. I also run falken at3w on my other rig so will get to compare
I'm really keen to hear what you think about the difference between the two when you've had them strapped on for a bit 🤘
so what you think after 8 months
What you think mate?
Another request for an update
Sorry for the 1 year reply hahaha! Its a great tire and definitely holds its own against the KO2. So far I feel its both better on and offroad than the KO2. Its also larger than the KO2 and has thicker tread depth. Noise level is around the same when new but the Mickeys seem quieter after 10,000 kms vs the KO2. Its also comfier than the KO2 on road, not as harsh and thats considering my KO2 is a C load and the legend exp is an E load. Grip on-road in the wet is around the same, maybe the legend EXPs are marginally better. Seems to wear better as well. Overall I am very happy with the Mickeys as they are also slightly cheaper than KO2s. Versus the Falken wildpeaks, I'd say the legend EXP is better offroad but the Wildpeak is better on-road and grippier, comfier. @@TyreReviewVideos
Hello, how are you, greetings from Tijuana,,, you have good videos,,,, I have a question ❓ which is better fgoodrif k02 in 31x10.5R15. or Baja legend exp,,,,,,, which one is better,,,,, I want it for a Frontier 2002 crew cab
I have the AT’s and I had to buy rims because they were bumping my UCAs when the same size KO2 were not. I will likely never buy KO2s again though. The Baja boss ATs kill them in the snow and in any off-road, especially in loose over hard terrain. The KO2s do have better road manners though. 2017 tacoma.
That’s good feedback. I do like my KO2’s but not closed off to other options. The increased weight & impact to mileage along with any increased road noise would be drawbacks for me.
Baja boss at or Maxxis razr at811??
Well my Baja boss tires have outside stamped on them. I don’t see the problem with rotating them from one side to the other as long as both tires stay together from one side to the other
They’re not directional like he states. They’re asymmetrical which as you state has an outside vs inside, but once it’s on the wheel you can do 4 or 5 tire rotations like normal.
Appreciate the nose test 😂😂
I agree. I like the white letters out. Always have. Wish the Baja boss a/t had that option. They both look like great tires. The EXP looks kinda like the pattern with the old Dick Cepek fun country. I think Dick Cepek was taken over by Mickey Thompson and then by Goodyear. I live in the US in Pa. We get snow mostly wet or sloppy. I'd guess the a/t would be a better choice but but I've had the older bfg all terrain t/a. It was Jack of all trades. Master of none. Had general grabber a/t also. Not impressive on the highway. Would be looking forward to trying one of the Mickey Thompson tires.
Here comes the real question. How does the legend exp compared to the boss AT SUV? NOT AT, AT SUV.
What are they made out of? EXP
...rubber? Silica? Definitely some metal, too.
The Baja Legend EXP come in 265/70/18 nice for LC300 on standard 300 wheels
Very good point! We have them on a 300 right now in 285/65R17 (I think, the car isn't outside for me to check) and they look awesome. After market wheels, though. We'll have a long term on those in the next month or two 👍
Can we get this long term review?
Which is better in the rain
We don't have direct comparisons, but I'd suggest the BBAT would be better in the rain due to its heavier siping than the EXP.
I wish the EXP was 3peak rated😢
I wish the boss had more sizes available…I really don’t want to buy new wheels 😑
I think there's more sizes coming. They'd be mad not to!
Nose test... LMAO
Ko2 are 3 peak rated and they are awful in snow rain, i bet these are better
Legend Looks like a direct copy of the Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP. I believe Mickey owns Dick Cepek though.
DC was discontinued by cooper/goodyear. The fact that they kept the trail country exp, IMO, and put it in the premium mickey thompson range must mean its a really good tire
Yep, correct. I just had a look at the vendor who brought DC into Australia, and it's no longer on their website, so it's no longer.
Very good point @4xFortuner!
@@TyreReviewVideos There are actually 2 main important differences between the Legend EXP and Trail Country EXP when they updated this product. Tread depth, and rubber compound formula.
@@robjohnson8208 that's good info, thanks! Nobody locally could give me this info 🤘
So, more tread depth? Any idea what the change to the compound was?
@@TyreReviewVideos please provide an email and will contact you asap to discuss.
Not surprising the less capable of the two are on a 300 🤣
Baja legends are heavier than the boss actually
That's interesting, it might depend on the size. In my usual reference 265/65R17LT the BBATs are 57lb, while the EXP are 50lb 👍
Baja boss will not get my money until they offer a proper White letters.
Have a set of 33/12.50 r15 baja legends coming on a new set of mickey thompson side biter 2 15/10 for my 3inch raised 03 jeep TJ . Cant wait to see that 12.50 with that deep neg 48 off set.
