Served my Mormon mission in the Philippines. 2 years of the best time of my life. I miss that place! And the food!!! Bikol express was my favorite. Gotta make a trip back one day!
You can also get an additional extension at NAIA Manila airport at immigration satellite office inside 3rd level, Terminal 3 before you leave. It started in 2022.
I think the time limit without a Visa for a US citizen is 30 days... which is what I did on my last two trips. To stay connected, I went with a SMART Bro which is a mobile hot spot that gets the SIM card. I think a 30 day plan with the device was under 3000 pesos when I picked one up in 2022 and worked well even in some rural areas in Mindanao. I usually take the Philippine Airlines flight from LAX that gets me there around 6:30pm, add that I can't sleep on a plane, I end up going to bed around 9pm exhausted and when I wake up in the morning I am fully adjusted. Great tips all around. I would add that you can pack pretty light when it comes to clothes as laundry service is always available anywhere you go. I have stayed for 3-4 weeks and only brought a carry on suit case and a backpack to keep myself as mobile as possible. Also, the baggage weight limits are usually strictly enforced in the Philippines (really mostly everywhere outside of North America) so bring a little luggage scale and maybe some clothes that you can sacrifice to make weight if you picked up a souvenir or two.
Another very nice video sharing of your "15 Things to Know for FIRST-TIMERS Traveling to The Philippines 🇵🇭"! Very interesting indeed. Full support & Best of luck po/Ned👏🎉👏
I will stay for 42 days and will get this "visa on arrival" for 30 days - but somewhere I read that they want to see my fly-back-ticket within (!) those 30 days, but ofc I have my ticket at the 42th day, so will it work? I hope so 😁 Chat GPT said that it will work if I tell them I will prolong my visa for another 30 days.
Nothing, you just need to fill out the form before you arrive 3-4 days in advance (it won't let you do it sooner), and then you show the QR code when you arrive, they scan it and that's it. I print PDF out as a backup if my phone wouldn't work, but I scanned it twice now on mobile directly with no problems.
Very helpful PHILIPPINES travel information! Thank you Jaycation for your video! You’re the best!🥰
Salamat
Thank you. Very informational! 🎉
I appreciate it!
Love the tips! Planning a BGC trip in April. Will we really need insect repellent even in the city?!! Will we need katol?

As a filipina... So happy to find a Filipino person doing this video 😅😅
Salamat Jaycation. Great advice. OK, if someone from SD is warning me about insects, I'm heeding that warning 😂
Get that insect repellant ready!
I would even use it while in Manila as the mosquitos went to town around my ankles there on my first trip.
It's been over 2 decades since I was in the Philippines, these are good tips!
When are you going to go back?
@@Jaycation Not sure, maybe next year. I have no trips planned to Asia yet.
