Tatya Tope shone like a real Maratha, always betrayed by the other northerners. He was so handsome a warrior, the English women cried in grief when he was hanged, and they collected his hair lobes as souvenier a reminder of his unparalleled valor and bravery .

Good Documentary! But did we learn any lesson from our history? Widespread Corruption in our country suggest otherwise.

Even today India is not a nation in a sense of National Pride and all inclusiveness. An American who returned to USA after spending 20 years in India was asked by a friend if he met many Indians and he responded," No I did not meet any Indians but met many Punjabi, Gujrati, Marathi, Tamils and so forth." Only place you see a united India is in the Armed Forces and on the Cricket fields. In the 1875 uprising, it is the Indians who saved British East India Company rules, partly because ordinary citizens were happy with good governance and native prince were busy fighting with each other over who gets how many cannon salutes. Watch Satyajit Ray's Chess Players (Shatranj ke khiladi) movie. Scindia of Gwaler the largest free principality, hated Holkars of Indor who were the main supporters,. Scindia did not take part but sent 20 thousand troops to fight for East India Company. Maharaja Ranjit Singh did the same and of course the slave of British, the Nepali King sent Gurkhas to relive Luknow. British Historian Norman wrote, India was captured by British, manpower supplied by the Indians.

Mnagal Pande messed up, he got out of control under the influence of drink and started firing aimlessly in the night instead of early morning and alerted the British. He is on our postal stamp?
