Excellent video! I am looking at Mills right now and this one in particular, so this is very helpful. Thank you!
Excellent review John. I’ve just acquired the G0759 and about to start setting it up. Your review has helped me feel confident thispurchase was a good one. Thank you for taking the time.
I've had my G0704 for 2 or 3 years now and love mine.
I have a Grizzly G0759 which is the same machine as the G0704 but with a DRO. To date, the best modification I made to the machine is the X axis power feed from Grizzly. Saves a lot of hand cranking and it allows variable feed speed.
i just built a wood bench(2x6s and 2x4s) with 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood glued together to make the top, and made it 6" taller . it turned out much more solid then the stand! (also bolted to a wall) and the 6" added to the height saves on the leaning over! (my back loves it)
I have the twin to your mill from Precision Matthew's and have found it to be a capable mill too. I may have to look into the Grizley power assist for the head. One thing I did was to make a wooden platform out of 2x6s and 3/4 inch plywood. It has made a world of difference in comfort while using the mill
Enjoyed the video John.
The gear is about $11. I ate two of them running a 2.5" face mill on old railroad track. Got through the job and didn't wreck the mill, so I think it's a safety measure that works pretty well.
