Brooooo, how can I thank you ?
My (legion 5i 2022 RTX 3060) was my best investment in my whole life. It was PERFECT down to the last minute detail. But after only 6 months of use, it started to stutter, and the performance was the worst at all. I ever started questioning myself, "If I just wasted my money" after trying everything to solve my problem. BUT yesterday, after I lost my hope and was playing on the lowest setting in all mankind, RUclips suggested your video for the whole day and was telling myself that this is the 97245 false video and no need to trying to solve anything. Before sleeping, I finally insisted on watching it, as if it was a voice from paradise. And everything changed at that moment. Never thought that I would comment on a RUclips problem-solving video like this. Thank you veeeeeery much, my friend. THE SECOND SOLLUTION IS WORKING! 🎉

I usually don't write comments but this guy deserves BIG PROPS for saving my life. I was having constant FPS drops, lags and problems with Counter Strike 2(playing on laptop Lenovo Legion 5 Pro - RTX 3070 Ryzen 7 5800H + Benq 240hz Monitor) and after watching this video my game is running so smooth, there are some drops from time to time but considering that the game is still not finished yet this is UNBELIEVABLE. Brooooooooo 2024 on a Lenovo Legion Slim 5i with RTX 4060 + Intel 13700H got the exact same problem and you solved it. But I think have some hardware problem because the cpu is keeping 100 degrees during gaming sessions and stutters from time to time but this time is way smoother than before. I don’t usually type comments but this time I want to say BIG THANKS BROOOOOO!!! For sure that video is not another fake one! Hello new comment on the case, I narrowed down that problem and it occurs to me when hybrid mode is off and you perform Nvidia GPU updates(clean installation). It basically messes around with the windows display drivers when it's switching it on and off while you might notice some strange screen flicker too during the process that in some manner which I can't explain causing that eventual performance drop couple updates in. Best solution for a solid performance is to follow the instructions provided here after each individual Nvidia update if you notice massive FPS drops.

Get your drivers from Lenovo website.
      It's a safer way.

Download only the official compatible drivers with your device from Lenovo website.

      No need to panic.
Latest Nvidia graphic drivers are meant to be working with the latest GPUs released.
Lenovo drivers are just stable ones which are fitting the devices they are recommended for.
Enter the serial number on the back of your laptop on Lenovo website and download the Nvidia graphics driver from there.

Thank you, disconnecting the battery for a while did the trick. I have Lenovo Plus or prime.. and they decided to change my fans and keyboard 4 months ago, and I had same issue happening again on a 1 and a half year old laptop. But I have had Lenovo send me new fans and a technician came to my home to change it and the keyboard... for free
I cleaned the new fans, all updates you name it I'm a technician my self. and I was considering some driver issues as my fans never went up to aircraft engine DB but would jump around max fps, fans went up and fps down . . and that dance would repeat more frequently.
I remember that I always disconnected the fan physically when I vacuumed my fans but last few times I skipped that as it's all in safe enclosure.. still that is the issue. . . . .
I start to consider to rewire the cam switch and make it in to a battery switch, since I don't use my cam anyway.

Some questions here, i noticed this particular issue occurs right after a BIOS update, seldom so with windows updates and possibly local power outages, if you have narrowed down the cause please tell. So if I do the following process you explained, should I turn conservation mode off before hand or it doesn't matter? Is the disabling of the battery from the BIOS mandatory? Also alternatively I noticed for the same issue what fixed it for me is simply after a full charge I turned on conservation mode after I unplugged my computer and let the battery drain down to 80% . Then I turned off the system exactly for 10 seconds, replugged it, turned it on and boom all was back to normal again. Was that a bad temporary fix unlike yours or that works too?

    • @Mightnare69
      @Mightnare69  Год назад +1

Generally speaking, the idea is to stop the power from going into the battery and let it be distributed evenly on other components.
So, draining the battery until it's empty works too.
Actually someone here in the comments, asked me what to do and he had the same issue but with another brand.
I simply told him to unplug his charger, drain the battery to 0%, press on the power button for like 60 seconds to remove any remaining static electricity in the motherboard, re-plug the charger again and turn on the laptop.
The principal is the same, but in Lenovo's case, we have the option to perform a power reset in the bios.

@@Mightnare69 One last thing, is having fast sync on a good idea in your opinion in the Nvidia global settings or no? I believe it's a bit risky to perform that 60 second power cycle reset or drain down the battery to 0% (unless of course there are evident battery problems). So I'm basically sticking to what Lenovo offers us. Was my method in my initial comment alright or should I do the BIOS disabling too to certify stability? Thanks again and sorry for the question storm.

      It's half correct.
I myself keep conservation mode on all the time but on 50~60%
That is the ideal battery power that saves its life.
So drain your battery to 60%, enable conservation mode and you can enjoy gaming while your charger is constantly plugged in.

Bios has nothing to do with this problem.
I think you are facing a thermal issue. As if we were in summer, this temperature range would be normal. Because the ambient air temperature is relatively high so the laptop's temperature will slightly go up. And if it's still under 90°C, your device is fine.
But we're now in winter, temperature should be 80-85°C max. You're having a slightly higher temperature than normal.
When you experience a sudden FPS drop, one of the possible reasons is your device reduces the power delivered to the GPU to prevent thermal overload that might cause permanent hardware damage.
So you may see FPS drops because of that.
Again... That is a possible reason for that.
Try for now to use an external fan and make a gap between the laptop's bottom and your desk. See if that fixes the problem or not.

Problem on my legion5 2022' is while playing RDR2 with approx 60 fps however it feels stuttered Looking forward to try disable build-in battery though i have a question does this mean build-in battery won't work any more and it has to connect to power cable all the time?

      No, it's a simple reset.
The battery works again the moment you plug in your charger.
