He also agrees with Mario and almost everything Mario promotes such as Why training to be an athlete and training to be a bodybuilder are so different etc. he actually agrees with Mario on almost everything. The difference is Greg only called out Mario cause Mario called out him and stated a bunch of stuff about Greg that wasn’t true. When Mario call out Greg he probably just looked at him and assumed he’s like a king pen level threat promoting steroids even though Greg from my knowledge has prevented much more people from the steroid life style then Mario has so it’s kind off annoying when you see a video of someone making accusations that aren’t even true and then playing the victim when someone calls him out instead.

Me personally I never understood the hate of crossfit and I still don't (don't really know enough to make a decisive judgement on it) but watching your vids made me realize how much our standards for "aesthetics" in the fitness world come from bodybuilding.

I have to be honest... I love your message. I'm glad that I found influencers like Gregory Crochet, Max Echidna and Sean NellyWALL-E-stich when I first began, they genuinely did encourage me to start working out but I realized a few months into training that it makes NO SENSE being in the gym everyday when you have no athleticism or physical competence to show for it. Everybody has different goals but being strapped head to toe in equipment and strapping yourself into machines which have 0 stability demands throws half of the benefits you get from training out the window. I was weight training as a soccer player, I didn't know enough and was training like a body builder, after watching your stuff my explosiveness has improved and agility. But hasn't put on muscle because soccer is a cardio-heavy sport. thank you for helping me get better at my sport

bro i've been doing all compound workouts these days and most of my workouts are now being done standing up.. my core has been trained literally with every workout now. of course i still have to do core workouts but now it feels like i unconsciously target them every single workout and its just amazing. 1. Cardio is and always will be better for fat loss both long and short term. Do cardio every day. Its not like you have to stop doing cardio. I think calisthenics are a great way to train functionally too and build an aesthetic physique while doing the hard exercises that push you through your mental limits. Gonna try and cut sitting down out of every exercise I can in the coming weeks. I have already transitioned from leg press to squats and I have stopped sitting down when I workout my forearms and biceps. I'm glad I discovered you in my first few months of lifting when my core strength and stability is still proportional to the rest of my body and not a few years from now when I need a belt for every exercise and I'm not aesthetic or athletic. Im kinda new to the gym (started last august). I used to train in a bodybuilding fashion. Since seeing your videos i have been doing my excercises standing and avoiding thoose dumb machines. I havent had crazy gains yet but hope i will be the next Leon Edwards and I hope i will get my aesthetic planet in the solar system.
Hey Coach, I want to clarify my thinking when watching this video. This is how I processed it: Cardio is not as sustainable as prioritizing weight lifting when trying to lose weight hence why you use the terms long and short term. This is because high intensity cardio tricks your mind into panicking to restore the calories you just burned, therefore causing you to eat far more than you need and completely wipe away your progress. But since high intensity weight lifting burns tiny portions of calories you get the best of both worlds because you’re building muscle while also burning calories but not at such an intense rate that you’ll go on a food binge after the fact. The only downside is that it’ll take longer to lose weight because you’re working at a more steady pace to do so rather than with high intensity cardio where you’re essentially trying to lose weight by taking an extreme nose dive. The airplane analogy, steady descent vs a rapid nose dive.
To be honest i truly believe bodybuilders are mentally ill. Obsessed with building muscle. More and more developing bodydysmorphia. And when they start using steroids, mental stability goes down even further. Steroid use can cause heavily depression. So Mario is right.

If you're sitting and doing shoulder presses, it doesn't mean you're lazy, Coach Mario. The key is what you're focusing on and what your priority is in order for a bodybuilder to maximize their shoulder workout in that set. They will sit and put their entire focus on their shoulders, rather than standing and keeping their core and other body parts tense, as that will tire them out and hinder their shoulder work. It's evident that you're quite inexperienced and illiterate when it comes to exercising, ex-bodybuilder TikTok kid.

I have to be honest... I love your message. I'm glad that I found influencers like Gregory Crochet, Max Echidna and Sean NellyWALL-E-stich when I first began, they genuinely did encourage me to start working out but I realized a few months into training that it makes NO SENSE being in the gym everyday when you have no athleticism or physical competence to show for it.
Everybody has different goals but being strapped head to toe in equipment and strapping yourself into machines which have 0 stability demands throws half of the benefits you get from training out the window. Keep spreading your message bro

1. Cardio is and always will be better for fat loss both long and short term. Do cardio every day. Its not like you have to stop doing cardio. Its both a long and ahort term solution and is far superior than weight training.
2. You're complaing about coach Greg taking you out of context which is completely LAUGHABLE. You do the same exact thing to everyone else, so maybe learn to not be a hypocrite, because its either cool with you or is not cool with you. You do not get to choose when and when it is not cool to make yourself look better.
3. Not everyone wants to train like an athlete. Taking stability out of certain exercises is more "functional" for the purpose of building muscle.
4. You apparently have no clue what gym equipment such as wrist wraps and elbow sleeves are used for. I'd like to see you bench as much as the tren twins without them.
5. Bodybuilders are scientifically more asthetic than athletes, Leon Edwards has a bodybuilding physique while being able to train like an athlete because of steroids and his own freak genetics, you do not hence why you and many other athletes don't look "asthetic" but can perform for a specific sport (said principle) People who train like an athlete will become athletic not asthetic, few will become asthetic because of genetics but its not because of the training. Futhermore you preach training astheticly in certain ways, which is bodybuilding, not athletic training.
6. Bodybuilding never was, and currently isn't unhealthy, taking steroids and not doing cardio is. Building muscle on specific muscle groups again is bodybuilding, not athletic training or as you like to call it "athletic bodybuilding".
Bodybuilding = building muscle to look more asthetic
Athletic training = improving performance for a sport.
So Mario, if you in any way shape or form lift weights for the purpose of improving aesthetics, thats actually bodybuilding bro. Sorry its the flat out truth no need to reinvent the wheel you're not coming up with anything new bro.
6. There is no "lazy way" to put on muscle. Sorry, you HAVE TO train very very hard to build substantial muscle, you HAVE TO get close to or even beyond failure at a certain point. It is physically impossible to hurt your health as a natural bodybuilder by putting on more muscle naturally. There is no study ever anywhere stating building muscle is unhealthy or hurting your health. Doesn't exist man.
7. You're calling Greg out for getting "offended" when in this whole video you're being defensive and offended the entire time. You're upset he called you uneducated and "took you out of context" when you've been saying the same exact thing about bodybuilders this entire time you've grown here on youtube. Hey Coach, I want to clarify my thinking when watching this video. This is how I processed it:
Cardio is not as sustainable as prioritizing weight lifting when trying to lose weight hence why you use the terms long and short term. This is because high intensity cardio tricks your mind into panicking to restore the calories you just burned, therefore causing you to eat far more than you need and completely wipe away your progress. But since high intensity weight lifting burns tiny portions of calories you get the best of both worlds because you’re building muscle while also burning calories but not at such an intense rate that you’ll go on a food binge after the fact. The only downside is that it’ll take longer to lose weight because you’re working at a more steady pace to do so rather than with high intensity cardio where you’re essentially trying to lose weight by taking an extreme nose dive. The airplane analogy, steady descent vs a rapid nose dive.

If you're sitting and doing shoulder presses, it doesn't mean you're lazy, Coach Mario. The key is what you're focusing on and what your priority is in order for a bodybuilder to maximize their shoulder workout in that set. They will sit and put their entire focus on their shoulders, rather than standing and keeping their core and other body parts tense, as that will tire them out and hinder their shoulder work. I actually like Coach Greg, hes much more Heath focused that most other bodybuilders but I agree that being an athlete is preferable to being a bodybuilder, and its up to everyone to decide whats good for them regardless, also cardio is everything for an athlete, it builds character and disapline IMO
