Having been in a gym (and own my own personal training studio) for a while now, I can confirm 95% of gym goers (myself included for the first 2-3 years) have no idea what a genuinely hard set looks like. So the BB guy does have a valid point. 4. This person is right in that steroid using bodybuilders can get away with 20 HARD sets in a workout and natural people can’t. Our bodies just can’t recover from 15-20 hard sets with only 4-5 days of rest. Most people don’t know that so they’re doing 4-6 sets of 8-12 reps for a single body part…wayyyyyy too much volume 5. The lower fibers of the pecs can in fact extend the shoulders when they're in a flexed position (like in a pullover) it's just that the lats, long head of the triceps or the rear delts have a way better leverage to do so (especially if you have transversal abduction together with extension, in that case the pecs dont do shit)

I’ve been a CPT for well over a decade and my wife is a DPT.
1. Why is he only talking about the clavicular and Sternocostal heads? Why not the abdominal head? Cuz it does infact assist with extension. It’s primary function is not extension, but it does assist. So the BB guy is not technically wrong.
2. (Like this dude) I didn’t have good genetics 134lbs @ 6’2. With education and training im now 205 in off season and 180 during competition / photo shoots.
Most people don’t know that so they’re doing 4-6 sets of 8-12 reps for a single body part…wayyyyyy too much volume
5. I like that this guy uses “it’s a short” as justification for insulting people and leaving out key qualifying information
