Everyone kept saying do "The Prayer", so I finally checked it out. Barry, they are right. IT will be your favorite. OMG, it was the best version I've ever heard. You are going to be floored. It resonates throughout your whole body. Beautiful!

Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper. I thought this was incredible. But, Scott and Kirstin took it to another level. Of course Kevin, Matt, and the angel Mitch made this song greater than it was originally. Loved it. Thanks Mr. Barry.
Kirstie’s vocals have become another level over the last 2 years. She also seem so much more confident. Just love this group.

Barry your ears are not deceiving you. Shallow is the Academy Award winning song written by Lady Gaga (and others) for the movie "A Star Is Born." Bradley Cooper stars as a broken down country singer who discovers the Lady Gaga character and makes her a star. There are a bunch of good songs on the soundtrack from that movie. But here, Kirstin knocks it out of the part in a great duet with Scott. The b/w with gold is perfect.
Two ppl finding each other. Beautiful song. She has a range we don't often notice, awesome, but Mitch put it together with his ohs and ahs. First time hearing them do this and they nailed it.
I never cared for the movie version of the song so I avoided this for a long time but its absolutely gorgeous the way they preform it.

I wasn't going to watch it, because I hate the original. I saw your comment and thought, "Okay, let's give it a go." Five seconds in, I had to turn it off. I just hate the song, no matter who sings it, I guess, even if it is one of my favorite groups.

I love the Kirstie show in this one. She sounds utterly amazing. Scott as well. But Kirstie stole the show for me.
I haven't listened to this for quite some time and had forgotten how powerful Kirsten's voice is in this song. She is such a talented lady!

Wow! Kirsten and Scott were pure perfection in this and Kirsten singing in a lower register was so so good!!! Once again, Pentatonix have made it better than the original!
This is one of the most ravishingly beautiful performances they have put on. Everyone matched the tender, sensitive tone of Kevin's cello, with amazing results. I'm always mesmerized by it and wish it were longer. As noted down-thread, this was written for the film A Star Is Born and was originally performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

I also cast my vote for The Prayer, but would also love to see you do some more cheerful stuff. It was wonderful seeing you smiling and singing along to the 90s Dance Medly.

Written by Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson for the remake of “A Star is Born”, which starred Lady Gaga (her feature film debut-and she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role) and Bradley Cooper (he had the lead, and it was his directorial debut!). Listen to the original. Hard to believe Bradley Cooper had never really sung before that movie-Gaga was ADAMANT that he learn to sing, and all the musical numbers were recorded LIVE. This is a stunning cover, and really shows what a great song this really is!

I’ve given a comment you left a like on my new video but not a heart yet because of my Super thanks rule, it’s the one about the train under Madison square garden. That’s how I’d always arrive into Manhattan, I’d get the air train to Jamaica station and then the Long Island railroad to Penn station it’s so much faster than getting a taxi or private car 🫥 Your comment brought back a lovely memory so thank you.

I understand the Super thanks rule, no explanation needed. I didn't realize you came into NY thru Penn station. Now I understand how that's a fast and easy way to get from JFK to the city. Train travel is great and fast. I love your description of coming up from the train station.... paints a picture as you say! I love to travel by train. The company that developed the software we used at work is headquartered in Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. Can't tell you how many times I traveled there for training or conferences. Originally I would drive, but that got tiring real fast. Hated the traffic, accidents, road construction, crazy drivers. Started taking the train and would arrive relaxed and safe. The Washington metro was right there at the train station, making it so easy to get anywhere. When my niece got married in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I took the train (Amtrak) as close as I could get, and then rented a car to drive the two hours to the North Carolina coast. Much better than driving the whole way.
I'm doing fine. Still sleeping on the sofa. They're picking up the mattress and box spring on Monday. Finally I'll be able to get a bed not made for a giant.
So how are things going with your office/studio? I haven't been writing you because I figured you were busy setting things up.
Yes I’m a train fan, I’ve used them to go to Galway from Dublin a few times but I’d love to go on a luxury sleeper train and travel across huge distances. I’ve watched a lot of travel shows about it. I wish I could go on a coach trip across the United States, I researched one before that was a month long trip. You get the coach from Manhattan to Washington enjoy seeing the sights and stay a night in a hotel (included in the price) then after breakfast you get back on the coach and travel to the next state, go sight seeing with a guide and stay the night again in another hotel. Some of the stops would be a three day stay and others just the one. I thought it sounded like such an adventure so I did a little test run here by getting the coach to county Mayo and had severe motion sickness 🤢 so bad that I had to lay down for hours, so unfortunately my American coach adventure wasn’t to be.
Yes you had the right idea, get the train for the majority of the distance and then drive, much better idea plus North Carolina coast just sounds lovely without knowing absolutely anything about it.
That’s good that you’ll be getting your skyscraper mattress collected and can get a human sized one soon. I know they say you should try out the mattress in the show room but I’d find that very awkward and wouldn’t be able to Judge its comfort, so all I’ve ever done is press my hand on it a couple of times and said… yeah I’ll take this one… then it gets delivered and I’m sleeping on an expensive bag of rocks 🙄
I’ve deliberately not been saying hi, because I thought it could be intrusive, I figured if my Anne wants to chat she’ll jump on and say hi but I stopped myself so many times.
I’ve cleared out the room and have to order a skip to take away all the heavy stuff, I then have to get all the equipment out of the attic and set that up. On screen I’m sure it will look fine but I’m hoping the lighting looks okay because sometimes I look bad in artificial light, that’s why most of the time I just sit facing a window. What ever way it turns out at least I’ll be able to get stuff done.
My call for help was a result of an email, I got from my management in response to my last few monthly tube reports and basically the message was, "its time to give up on this venture, it’s not working out and isn’t sustainable" I knew it was bad but I didn’t realise it was that bad, but it is. We’ll see what happens. I won’t stop my channel but I may need to stop using my management as part of my channel… we’ll see.

Great to hear about your progress with your studio. I do prefer natural light also, but you don't look bad in artificial light. Get that idea out of your head!
The train trip across the country with overnight stops sounds great. Sorry to hear you got so sick on the train. I've never had motion sickness. Trains, planes, buses, boats, cars... nothing bothers me. I have heard from people who get sea sick that it's awful. My older brother used to get sea sick when he was young. Then he joined the Navy and served in the submarines of all things 🤪. Somehow he overcame his sea sickness, probably out of sheer will. He loved the ocean and fishing, always had his own boat. I've always wanted to take a train trip through the Canadian Rockies. But I don't think that will ever happen for me.

Oh I can see how my comment was confusing, I’m fine on trains but I was talking about a coach I think I’ve heard people call them "getting a greyhound bus" in America, it’s a big bus that travels long distances and I get “car sick" in them. I just took it for granted that a coach was a universal term for them, the other “coaches” I’ve heard are on a sports team and another term for travelling economy by plane. That term irritates me, because it can still cost thousands to fly long distances from Ireland to America or other countries THOUSANDS what’s "economy" about that?

@@thomashernandez8700 It should have been capitalized. The song is The Prayer, covered a lot but I think Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli version is most known. I never cared for the song but PTX did an awesome job on it, as per their usual.

Thanks for another great reaction Barry. Most of PTXs songs grab me by the heart strings. They are absolutely amazing and I think their rendition is so much BETTER than the original. It seems that this song was sung with much more emotion and passion than the original.

Hi Barry. It’s your Boston Barry-babe. (One of them at least), before I watch this reaction to one of their best covers, I must strongly suggest or beg you to, as immediately as humanly possible, to please react to their new cover of The Prayer. It’s, in my learned, yet humble opinion, it’s one of their top 3 covers of all time. Ok, on any given day the list of their best can change but today this may be #1 but definitely in their top 3. The Prayer. It’s on their new Christmas album Evergreen but it’s not really a Christmas song. At least not a traditional Christmas song. It’s a cover of the duet from Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. Hard to beat the original but you know they do. It’s stunning and you must see it . Maybe I was too subtle 🤔 😉 nah, I think we’re ok. Now I’m off to watch this reaction to Shallow. ✌️💚

That was beautiful and the first time I've heard them use an instrument, but it was perfect. Her voice was gorgeous but all of them sang well in the background.
