There are so many fantastic singers that one may hear today, but to have so many of them in one group who know each other so well and can work together flawlessly is what makes PTX so special. And, as others have observed, they are improving as they become more mature. Not just the voices, but the way they know how to wring the most out of everything they do. And props to the supporting folks who make them sound and look like they do.
I completely agree, Frederic! Thank you for watching 😊🙌
Their reimagination of the classic 'O' Come All Ye Faithful' is my favorite. It will be yours to if you give it a listen.
I agree. It makes me smile!
So many people have mentioned it to me in this thread. I must hear it! Thank you so much for watching and recommending it!
Love it!!💚❤️💚
she was certainly 'feelin' it!
Pentatonix is really a phenomenal group. I love their Bohemian Rhapsody, but this The Prayer is absolutely gorgeous.
I have to recommend "oh come all ye faithful" for my favorite Christmas cover. They changed it in the most incredible way. ❤️❤️
Hands down, this one is my favorite!!
This is their best one to date!!!!
God bless you all, and God loves you all! Have a blessed day everyone!
For PTX Christmas my top favorite is still "Mary, Did You Know?" and "The Little Drummer Boy" is number two, however, each time I hear "The Prayer" it inches up the charts so who knows...
Simply ALL OF EM!!
Love Came On Christmas, Oh Come All Ye Faithful
Kevin Ousuola and Matt Sallee making the background sounds and bass.
Always love when a reactor gives us the 'stank' face; especially one who knows what they're doing. My fave Christmas song by them is 'O Come All Ye Faithful'; a totally unexpected vibe.
Haha, I couldn't help it! This was 'stank' face certified! 😅 Thanks for watching, Richard. I can't wait to hear 'O Come All Ye Faithful'
Mary do you know. First song I heard by them.. Captured my heart
This is what i call a good reaction.
That means a lot, Alejandra. Thank you!! 💛
I am a Mitch fan.
He makes it looks so easy.
🥰🎙🎵
"Mary did you know?" is still my favourite Pentatonix Christmas cover.
Favorite Christmas by PTX. Well I’m a Pentaholic so, Mary Did you know, Silent Night, O come all ye faithful, 12 Days of Christmas , the river, I could go on but
It’s like picking my favorite child. I love them
There are so many of them.. the sound of silence, somebody to love. Good to react too
12 days of christmas is my favourite cover of them
Thank you for reacting to this incredible Pentatonix video. Glad that you liked it. They are amazing.
They are! Thank you for watching!
little drummer boy.. my favourite.
All their stuff is top notch but amazing grace still hits me hard
My favo christmas cover by PTX is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. I believe it won a grammy
This one hands down!!!'
Their version of The Little Drummer Boy redeemed a song for me that I'd grown tired of long before I was out of grade school!
Good reaction. Please speak to spirit that they have in this rendition.
Favorite: Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
Mary Do You Know has to be my favorite Pentatonix Christmas Song. Brings me to tears every time!
Can't wait to hear it! 🤗
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen was always my mom's favorite....she would have love there version of the song, but for me l love them all
truly amazing
I love your reaction to this. The beauty, the power, the skill, all of that was recognized. While I love seeing reactors that are stunned into silence, it’s also nice that you have knowledge of them and the skill they’re using to create such a stunning arrangement.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment!
I love your energy.
Hello, beautiful LizaQuin!Great song!Amazing voices!Thank you, dear!Great reaction!(You are very beautiful!)🌹🥰🇷🇺
Thank you so much, Pavel! You're always so kind! 💛
My favourite is: We Need A Little Christmas.
my favorite pix Christmas cover is their rendition of Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy tied directly with You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch!
Pentatonix and home free are great harmony groups but A few years ago there was ( and still is ) a 4 male crossover harmony group from South Korea called “Forestella”. When they performed their first song “ Bohemian Rhapsody” (by Freddy Mercury and gang ) it catapulted them to international stardom and they now have millions of followers worldwide. Like pentatonix one of the Korean vocalists has a very deep bass/baritone voice. Another, a high operatic voice, and the other two group members (who are also solo performers) together perform it in a confluence of total passion and performed live on stage in front of thousands of their fans. Some of their other songs I recommend are Simon & Garfunkel classic “The Sound Of Silence”, an incredible performance of “je suis Malade” popularized by Lara Fabian, Guardian “ Angel” that will lift your spirits and transport you to another world-especially during these troubled covid times.
But I save the best and most hauntingly beautiful song for last. Titled “ hijo de la luna” and i believe it’s their newest and has quickly become one of my all time-favorites. Magical and angelic.
All love to all,
Al
All love from Miami Beach , Florida,
Al
I think we have been....
Mitch Slapped
Scott Shocked
Kirstie Clapped
KO'd by KO
Mesmerized by Matt
All at once.
At about 2:50 in the video they hit that huge chord and they sound like an organ. I am not sure any language can truly describe what they do when they are this good.
Love your energy, your analysis and your pizzazz!!!!!⭐⭐⭐ I'm a 'late bloomer' (aspiring singer-songwriter) who's finally realised that their voice is better than they think it is, and is finally doing something about it!!😊 Recently started singing lessons for the first time, doing short courses to catch up on my theory - and subscribing to awesome channels like yours, to help me get better at analysing songs and everything that goes into them!!! So thank you.🙏😊
Watching the expressions on your face, and your movements as you watch, is fascinating! Enjoyed learning from your technical analysis as well! Thanks for a great reaction video!
Haha, glad you enjoyed!
love it!!!! Amazing !!! 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎉🎊 You are Amazing!!!
Awwww love you!!
that bVI - bVII - I ending is so perfect.
Favorite Christmas Songs: Carol of the Bells and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy 🧚♀️
Loved your reaction, PTX is just stunning!
Thanks for watching! 💜
I love this. It’s hard to narrow down a favorite Christmas song, but I keep going back to Silent Night. It’s such an organic “performance.” It’s like they forgot there was a camera and just became lost in the creation of a perfect and different rendition of the song.
My favorite Christmas cover done by Pentatonix is Carol of the Bells!!
I'll have to check it out! thank you, MJ!
@@LizaQuin I don’t think Mitch breathes in that one! Lol 😂
Pentatonix Christmas favorites are The First Noel and O Come All Ye Faithful.
Mitch's voice is really pretty ....
If you liked this please listen to their cover of "Hallelujah". It is breathtaking
You should react to there Mary did you know it's THEBEST and I'm sure you'll love it too♥️🖤
Just awesome girl, you're the freaking best, hands down...
Thank you so much, Jim! Means a lot! Hugs 🤗
This one is my current favorite cover. But, I love Pentatonix and they can do no wrong.
Great reaction
Oh . . . Favorite Holiday cover. Not sure it is a cover at all. But Pentatonix again singing 'O Come All Ye Faithful'. It is so surprising to here an African/Caribbean vibe to it.
I am SO SO HAPPY to see you react to this video! This is my favorite so far. They all surpassed my wildest dreams on this song. I prefer this one to the original. Matt and Kevin...gosh...brilliant is all I can say!!!
They really did an incredible job. It's so emotional as well!
So many great ones, but "Oh, Come All Ye Faithful" is my all-time favorite :-)
Pentatonix IA definitely an awesome acapella group. There is another acapella group I recently came across that you should react to. Home Free "Man of Constant Sorrow" , will be well worth your time. As always I enjoyed your reaction. ❤
Favorite holiday cover is without a doubt their version of Silent Night done in the vestibule of a church and recorded live. Followed by their collaborations on Do You Hear What I Hear with the late Whitney Houston and White Christmas with the late Bing Crosby.
Thanks for leaving these suggestions!
Mitch is actually Counter Tenor
Actually, one of my supreme favorites is an early one (might be 2012); it made me an instant Pentaholic! It is “Angels We Have Heard On High”. As a composer-pianist, I was blown away by the prolific use of minor 9th chords and Avi’s overtone whistle singing. Then in the middle section they begin a motific development section (it’s almost symphonic in structure). The ending is awesome; they end on a MAJOR 9th chord that is spread out to explode in overtones! Amazing that even as early as this, PTX was creating these miniature masterpieces! Everyone in the group has grown and their voices have matured, but I humbly believe the greatest growth has taken place in Kirstie’s voice. She’s always been awesome, but she seemed to lack confidence in the early years. Now, with her matured voice she can belt with power right there with the boys! She blows me away!
Thanks so much for sharing this with me. I can’t wait to hear this version! And, I agree about the growth. I’ve been following them since “the sing-off” and she just blows me away more and more every time.
🌟👉My favorite Pentatonix Christmas cover is EVERY SINGLE CHRISTMAS COVER THEY HAVE DONE!!!... PLEASE REACT TO:
Oh Come All Ye Faithful
12 Days Of Christmas
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch
The First Noel
Favorite Things
Carol Of The Bells
Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy (2nd Grammy win)
....EVERY PTXMAS COVER IS BRILLIANT!!!🌟
Awesome reaction of masterful arrangement of The Prayer. Please react to Mary Did you know! It's awesome!!
My personal favorite is their cover of Silent Night!
My fave is THANK YOU... but hard to pick 1 !
favorite = Little Drummer Boy, their arrangement is amazing
One of my favorite Pentatonix Christmas songs that often doesn’t get a lot of attention because it’s only audio is their version of "Angels we Have Heard on High". It starts out very traditional and then really takes you to church.
ِActually, there's a MV for that as well! :)
I think my favorite is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, but it is hard to choose.
theres a behind the scenes video of their process of creating the album and its pretty fascinating! you should check it out if you havent!
Thank you for a great reaction!
Since you asked, my all time favorite PTX Christmas cover is their official video of Silent Night, which was recorded live in a stone church. A close runner-up is The First Noel in an outdoor setting featuring Avi Kaplan. Remarkable.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
Did you notice that the setup for the song made it seem that the lyrics would start with Kirstie singing, by making her disappear behind a tree, but it was Mitch that reappeared and started singing. Anyone who knows the vocal range of Mitch would expect this, but the deception (too strong a word, but no other word is accurate to this situation) is aimed at someone familiar with the Dion / Bocelli version but is NOT familiar with Pentatonix.
LOOOOVE YOUR REACTION!!
New subcriber here 🙋🏽♂️
Thank you so much, Leo! Means a lot! Hugs 🤗
you're a mean one Mr Grinch
The Mr. Grinch is a really good one
I saw three ships - pentatonix. Good to react too
***Mitch is a Countertenor and Kevin is a tenor
Actually, Kevin is a Baritone with the ability to sing bass up to tenor.
You should really check out Home Free, another acapella group that leans a little more country, but covers all genres. Its a groupe of 5 amazing men, including their "bass" singer with a 5 octave range, a world class beatboxer, and truly all lead singers blending and harmonies for days.
Man of Constant Sorrow is a fun introduction to the group but truly all of their music is fabulous. They even did American Pie with Don McLean for the 50th anniversary of the song.
They have a lot of good holiday covers
Best, as I May Day, are:
1. The prayer
2. Dont worry Be happy (some sort of mashup, idk) ft Tory Kelly
3. Carol of the bells
Thanks for leaving these recommendations!
Please please please, more of PTX!!
🕊💞😍💐
Oh Holy Night or Mad World.
The Winter Wonderland cover with Tori Kelly is amazing as well. Their medleys are really incredible
For great acapella groups there's Voiceplay and Voctave too and on the theme of Xmas songs, have a listen to Voiceplay and the inestimable Rachel Potter doing, "O Holy Night".
Mary Did You Know, or Drummer Boy!
Please react to Pentatonix' Amazing Grace, and Imagine.
“Mary did you know” is my favorite by them.
Followed extremely closely by “Little drummer boy”
Also Liza, can you do some reaction to the a cappella group “Straight, No Chaser”??
Would love to hear them! Thanks for the suggestion! 😊🙌
You REALLY need to watch Marcelito Pomoy singing this song. You won’t believe what you are hearing. He is amazing. No vocal training. He raised himself on the street from the age of seven. Also AGT performances, but watch The Prayer on the Wishbus first. Please watch soon...you will be glad you did...I promise! Thank you! 👍
Love your Review and Reaction.
If possible Please react to Homefree's Do you Hear what i hear 😀
Just like Pentatonix, Homefree is also an Acapella Group..
And they are amazing..
Hopefully you would like them as well..
What’s up homie!! Glad you did a reaction video of Pentatonix. They’re truly a remarkable acapella group. You should check out “Mary, did you know” tune and “Silent Night” live.
Another acapella group you should check out is VoicePlay. They’re awesomeness as well, and their bass singer is something out of this world lol.
Dale, un abrazo.
Thanks for your recommendations! I'll put them on the list!
@@LizaQuin Voiceplay don't just do acapella covers they do acapella masterpieces. They make it their own and in some cases surpass the originals. For a good taste Try: Boy Bands in 5 minutes, My Mother Told me, Hoist the colors, Little Mermaid medley and their current showcase Wicked medley. They are in my opinion the best/innovative acapella group out there.
Hai. You have to see Mahalini - Hurt. on See You On Wednesday :)
Loved this reaction, thank you :) Please, please please react to Pentatonix cover of O Come All Ye Faithful....you'll be Blown Away! Hugs from Norway :)
I wonder if Matt is helping Scott find that "Operatic" projection that's present here...I feel like Matt's projection is very "classical".
It’s very possible. I have to imagine that they are constantly exchanging and learning from one another. :)
Amazing Grace by PTX, for me personally, no contest.
Thoroughly enjoyed your energetic reaction. Sincerely hoping that you would react to Ernie Zakri some day. Thank you.
Thank you!! And I added Ernie to my list. 🤗
