I think out of all the tips here.. the key points you said I think to me are the most valuable are Brand recognition and reputation. Great points and great video!
Here’s a great idea for your pencil cases. When you stream, use them as giveaways. A) it’s a giveaway tax write off. B) instead of sitting there doing nothing it now has given the customer a shipping label and they might buy something from your Buy It Now. C) Throw in a $1 card and a business card/sticker and you have done your job! So there’s plenty to do with the stuff that just SITS there. I use stuff like that all the time and helps a lot 💪🏼
Google Pokemon distributors. You will find a list of all the Pokemon distributors. I went to all their websites and started filling out applications. You will need to have the business formed before though, as you will need a reseller certificate from your state.
Bro I just picked up first editions of machops evo line in base base 2 and a few others you are the only other person I know that loves that beef cake🎉
Brother I’m totally serious, when you open your brick and mortar and get in the positive, god I would love to franchise a Legendary Cardboard store for Dallas/Fort Worth.
@ Either that, or you become my sensei, as I have had quite a bit of success starting on TCGplayer, and my literal dream job is to run my own card shop!! The way you described yourself and your feeling towards a brick and mortar is exactly the way I feel!
8:00 I had been doing more or less the same thing for sealed product, the past couple years there was a lot of room and opportunity for the small fish to buy sealed product at near distro pricing and make a modest margin while still selling under MSRP, not really possible anymore though unfortunately as you mentioned.
I believe that time will eventually come back around. It's the endless cycle of supply and demand. It may take a while but demand and prices will eventually come back down.
You not having to rely on that income is not something that most others have . If you don’t have the extra income you have to work and that’s typically an 8-5 . Which means you won’t have the best customer service without killing your self . So your scenario is awesome but situational.
I'm just starting out my own journey doing the same thing as you, this info really helps out. I have some listings already on ebay but mostly been building a inventory before launching my website. we are a bit different cause we are Canadian based but still helps. Keep up the content and cant wait to see pictures of your store.
Lol. You might be better off breaking down those pencil cases and just selling the loose packs. Maybe donate the pencils and stuff to schools for some good karma.
That could be, though, Hill and other wholesale sites aren't exactly secrets. In fact, Hill consistently has way more inventory in stock then any distributor I have seen right now but the prices have elevated to either market, or just under market. It's still a great resource to use to sell at cost to start building a brand.
As long as you weren’t robbing Targets like that guy from the Venice Card store, you’re good in my book lol

product drying up at places like hill because utubers keep giving away all the info what do you expect to happen.
