Howdy Dustin’ - Hope all has been well.
My thoughts haven’t changed in a while now. I’m still on the sidelines just peacefully enjoying my collection on my own in my older years. Personally, I haven’t considered the industry “hobby” focused since the last boom/bust. The “key” players are still trying to squeeze out the last little bit of hype out of it that still exists in hopes of reeling in and hooking those not old enough to get their own sportsbook account or those with a have to have that and a thrill of the chase mentality either looking for a “big score” or bragging rights. Sure it would be nice if we had another boom in the future, but wouldn’t it just be amazing if the cards that carried value wound up being all the ones that breakers don’t even show or those that just seem to be filler junk base cards, since they all seem to just go directly in the trash bin and will rarely (if ever) be found 50 years+ from now (after I’m probably gone), so it will be even more rare to ever find a complete set of anything it great condition for our kids and grandkids to go through and talk about. PS. These big companies with questionable in-house operations that have conflicting interests are also ethically, if not legally questionable, imho, it so far the regulators continue to turn a blind eye to all of it and I also believe that continues to influence the questionable behaviors and direction of the “industry”. I’ll stay on the sidelines and hope they break that mess up and someday police the industry if the industry can’t police itself (aka: get its head out of its arse 🤷‍♂️) Peace ✌️

Just went to a local card show here in Southern California and it was 80 percent TCG and 15 percent sports cards. That shocked me because that show used to be all sports cards. Wow what’s going on??

Come to the west coast card show they usually have a lot of sports (Pokémon and one piece are growing rapidly)

Sports cards were dead for almost 20 years between the late 90s/early 2000s up until COVID. Any card show you would've gone to in that window was like 3 out of 4 tables were pokemon and toys.

talk about a bubble. Sounds like Pokémon is ready to collapse when you are comparing population reports to overproduced sports cards. Good luck.
