I got rid of the white color with the stripe, she is now jet black with chrome wheels! Also upgraded to a Cat 600HP and 18 speed eaton fuller! Much better :)
That sounds pretty nice, aint nothing like the old cat engines, I have a cummins 570 in my freightliner classic xl, she is my new favorite truck mod. I'll have to try out the century for myself, the jake sounds like a beast on thus truck. ☺
Hey jeff, when you're pulling heavy loads like that upon a hill you have to go in 1 LOW, or even make sure you gear down ( go back in the previous gears) or else you will start to move slower and slower on the hill. Remember, you have to be in the right gear to match the rpm that you got, and you'll keep damaging your like that if you keep going like that and continuously shuts off. Just telling you.
On your truck when you kill it on an uphill like that. Best thing to do is start off in the lowest gear you've got. Also you're going to want to hit the gas at the same time you're slowly releasing your clutch. Keep your rpm in between 13-1500. This is what I gotta do for steep grades. Sometimes my truck is very close to the limit of 80,000 pounds.
great job jeff...just a tip..u don't need to split all gears u can start off 2h 3l depending on load and then as u get going u can double up and down...if that makes sense... and your 100% right if u had a switch instead of just a button...and u can switch between h and L with just the rpms....ur doing great..that jack sounds bad ass!!
It's a good thing you didn't start the series with this shift style, it might have put off some new to the game ppl. Turning into a how to shift series :) Wish the stock trucks would have the dash GPS and highly visible dash like the mods. Spent some of the begining of the week watching Pat's live stream, good to see you there. He's a trooper. Have a great rest of the week pal.
Hey Jeff, like the truck change. I myself just switched over to the FL Coronado. Love it so far. Sounds great and so does your Century. Really glad you made this a full time series.
Jeff, I realized that I haven't watched most of your series on ATS. A lot of the more recent I have watched but not the earlier ones, so I'm binge watching them, and I smile as you were excited about getting the new truck. Myself, I bought the game (because I saw you having so much fun with it, I had to get it too) and I only have an old Logitech NASCAR racing wheel that's over 10 years old (bought it at Fry's Electronics for $20 new, with 90 degrees turning either way). I'm saving money for a new wheel (thrustmaster with 900 degrees turning either way, WITH a gear shifter, and trackerir) and I can't wait to order it once I get the money!
Don't worry Jeff, it took me awhile to learn the Fuller Super Ten, works very similar to what you are using. Is the weight mod the load and trailer weight combined? They seem a little high. When I pulled sea containers I usually had 40,000 to 45,000 lbs in loaded weight. By the way, try using the trailer brake on the ramp. IRL the valve is mounted on the steering column. It leaves your feet free for the clutch and accelerator. Happy Trucking! Bob
Jeff I love the ATS videos I watch them in the morning to start my day with low stress or in the evening to unwind. The only thing I ask of you is to check on the brightness, it seems pretty dark. You're great!
Jeff I know I'm away behind on videos but you need to be careful with the jack brake when it's raining because you could get a fine in some states when using that brake in cities.
Texas got hit hard by the storms, north texas is flooding all over the place, and houston has a few tornado warnings, hope people stay safe out there, twister season is almost upon us
Jeff some insight on your shifting question. I drive truck with a shifting pattern like that and an easier way they may help you is yes you can go from L to H by just letting off the acceleration. An easier way to go from say 1H to 2L is hit you HL switch before shifting to 2nd gear. It wont shift into L gear with out the clutch so when your in 1H and ready to shift into 2L hit the switch while in 1H and just shift to 2nd and it will go into 2L. Give that a shot and that should save you some time rather than shifting into N and then hitting the switch then going into the next gear. Keep up the good work i Enjoy watching all you Code Zero Gamers. Take Care
I think that the trailer weight mod is actually putting your truck over weight. Also 52000 lbs is the max for most tandem axle trailers. Also I believe that the weight the stock game shows is cargo weight. 80000 Lbs is the Max weight without Over weight/demenision permits in the US. Here is some info to help give you a better idea on how weights workout on a semi. Standard tractor weight is 18000 to 20000 for an OTR tractor, 9000 to 13000 lbs for a trailer. Using the lowest weights for truck and trailer you base would be 27000 lbs. That would mean your max load could weight 53000. Which is 1000 lbs over trailer allowable weight.
Where did you get the century class? I own a century class been running California Arizona for 6yrs with it it's my fav. Truck out of all the trucks I've run
beautiful truck Jeff, and talking about shifting using high/low splitter, my buddy drives truck and that's how he splits the gears too by using low/high for each gear. He said he liked doing it that way because he had better control of his RPMs and it was less stress on the transmission. Also do you think it's the trackIR causing the camera to dip when looking left/right?
Down here in Florida its been hot, Although my weekend could have been better. My dad got rear ended on 19, Which is like a highway. I'm sure you heard of it because you have been down here, But yeah everything turned out good. Hope your week is going well so far! Awesome Video.
Idk if you will see this Jeff since this is an old video but I didn't know there was a truck that shifts like that. I trained in a 2010 freightliner cascadia that you shift like a normal vehicle but you got to 5th or 6th gear you flipped the splitter and go through the next set of gears.
+Jeff Favignano me too cause I never Heard of that before. Have you ever drove a real semi before? I never got to haul actual cargo but I got to see what it's like to be a real truck driver by taking the driving course. When I my my ATS videos I plan on giving some tips I learned on how to drive a truck. The truck drivers rules of the road.
just a suggestion when you're drivin slow like u was turning onto the highway at the beginning of the video turn your hazards on and samething if your on the mountains
Awesome truck Jeff beautiful looking I got a new one myself the Argosy Freightliner I kept my Peterbilt though gave it to a lucky driver still loving your series I"m still having a good week hope you are too see ya man
It looks like you're using a 10speed, and if you are you're doing pretty much everything right. I'd consider upping to more gears when you get a chance. 13-18 if possible, that way when you're on a hill like that you have a little more low end grunt.
Every time you intro saying "my name is Jeff Favignano" In my head I always finish there and say "with the Blaine county sheriffs department, do you know why I'm stopping you today" Hahaha, just me?
It was a great video you got a fantastic truck the color white is perfect but you should really try some other colors like sky blue or some fancier quarters and maybe you could do a video where you using two trucks and it's basically transporting concert or special event equipment from one Stadium to another it would be perfect for you and another driver
How much do all the mods cost? I'm not cheap I'm just curious. I recently got into this game but just haven't found a steering pedals n shifter set for a reasonable price. Any ideas anyone? I would appreciate it
ok, that thing needs more power asap. I thought you would gonna choose the 109,000 lbs gravel on the freight market, that would have been a first gear only drive to the destination
I watched Nate Diaz beat the dog mess out of Conor McGregor this weekend while putting some change in my pocket. Also, I think a cool mod would be if a car decides to slow down and let you over they will flash their lights at you (like you do in real life) so it works with turning your hazards on to say 'thank you'.
Watching your entire Playlist. I wish I would've caught these videos when they were fresh out. Lots of tips. One I didn't see anyone mention your load was 60 plus thousand pounds, which is over weight for the trailer you had and too much weight for that truck to handle. On top of that your trans gears aren't optimized for that kind of weight, because the gears are kinda long. Not much input on the engine
And so thats why it seemed like you had so much peddle travel required because long gears equals long rpm travel duration just to get out of low ram to grab good torque. 8 years driving semis
How did you get that truck? (The Freightliner Century) I just got that game and don't have it. Do you start with the Peterbilt 389 and 579 and the Kenworth T680 and W900?
hey Jeff, came for American truck have watched a few lspdfr's liking it more and more. do have a comment that weight mod yes dos make truck act better but looked at wieghts. I drive a spread axle your looking at a top weight of about 51000. I'm allowed 12000 steer 34000 drive and 20000 on both trailer. but can't exceed 80,000 total weight. your normal truck non spread like when I drove for werner. your looking about top weight of 45,000 trucks around 30,000 empty if I use to get a load over 40,000 use to make sure to scale it. as for shifting sounds like your driving a super ten if it's just a 8 speed (as you said you shift 4 times) the 8 speeds I drive you shift 4 then flip range select then do 5-8. so I'd assume you do 1-4L then 1-4H. if it's a super 10 or something like then you do split every gear. hope didn't confuse you but on RUclips you can look up straight 8 shift or super ten shift and there are videos in real life.
It is gonna be 71 on Wednesday in Massachusetts! also, yeah, there is a hugely noticeable difference between a regular mouse and a gaming mouse. I mean I have razor and I can set my sensitivity on my mouse which is always on the 2 setting which is great and very responsive!
Hi I'm not a truck driver but my dad is and I ride with him a lot and when getting off the interstate with a heavy load, what he does is throw on the jakes and when he hits the ramp turn them off and glides up the hill.

Hey Jeff. I have followed you from almost a year now. Im from Denmark and love all your videos. questions, what settings are you use for the high and low gear shit? it git the logitech DRIVING FORCE SHIFTER for G920.
Jeff try letting out on the clutch while the parking brake is on , then release the parking brake while the clutch is engaged. I've got in that situation once or twice. ;)
I've driven 99 a million times throughout the years and more than a few times in this video it reminded me exactly of it. If the developers based most of their imagery on Google Maps images they did a fantastic job.
I guess Jeff that is the correct technique of shifting coz i saw a vid title "Kenworth W900L Shifting and Jakebraking" on utube itself and hes switching something before every shift so i guess wht ur doing is right.....great vid....keep em coming!!!
I got rid of the white color with the stripe, she is now jet black with chrome wheels! Also upgraded to a Cat 600HP and 18 speed eaton fuller! Much better :)
The black looked way better anyways!
Ain't nothing like a caterpillar engine. Hell of an upgrade. Though they're not good with fuel economy they are definitely a power house.
That sounds pretty nice, aint nothing like the old cat engines, I have a cummins 570 in my freightliner classic xl, she is my new favorite truck mod. I'll have to try out the century for myself, the jake sounds like a beast on thus truck. ☺
My mom used to have a car with chrome wheels.Black is better.Speed is better.
that sounds really great
Hey jeff, when you're pulling heavy loads like that upon a hill you have to go in 1 LOW, or even make sure you gear down ( go back in the previous gears) or else you will start to move slower and slower on the hill. Jeff, I'm 99% sure that you used a car behind you as chuck when you finally got up that hill. Good use for the sometimes terrible AI.

Jeff you do a FANTASTIC job doing American Truck Simulator
man I remember the century class was the first truck I was in when I started my career. great video as always.

That's the truck my dad was issued when he drove for Dollar General. I absolutely loved that truck. I never found a reason to hate it
I wouldn't worry too much about going through each low and high gear Jeff. you're already advanced in skipping gears.
The century looks beautiful, keep up the good work jeff
you finally got the shifting right jeff.and it's going to take some getting use to.
Hey Jeff, like the truck change. I myself just switched over to the FL Coronado. Love it so far. Sounds great and so does your Century. Really glad you made this a full time series.
Hey Jeff when I get stuck like that on a ramp or hill. I use the trailer brakes and drag the tires slightly. It usually works well.
Jeff, I realized that I haven't watched most of your series on ATS. Hey Jeff I'm a truck driver and I know for example for an Eaton 10 speed, You would stay in low range until 5th and switch to high range 6-10.
Jeff, can you increase you torque to 1800 in your new truck? You are running 1200. Don't stop on a hill. 20 yr retired trucker
I was never into American Truck Sim but coz of Mr Jeff looks like Im hooked
Truck looks a lot better !! Was a lot of fun playing last night so pissed i couldnt stay for the end of the stream 😂😂

iam from Canada and I love all your videos Jeff
Singing a little Brooks & Dunn, there. I caught that, Jeff.
Enjoying you trucking I watched all your sim flight videos.
Texas got hit hard by the storms, north texas is flooding all over the place, and houston has a few tornado warnings, hope people stay safe out there, twister season is almost upon us
love your new truck Jeff! keep on using it if you can cuz it looks like a complete beauty to this amazing truck series of yours. thanks for everything

+Jeff Favignano your welcome 🙂

Wow, This Freightliner Century truck looks JUST LIKE MY DADS OLD TRUCK before he went to kenworth
Down here in Florida its been hot, Although my weekend could have been better. My dad got rear ended on 19, Which is like a highway. I'm sure you heard of it because you have been down here, But yeah everything turned out good. Hope your week is going well so far! Awesome Video.

+green machine55 yeah seems to be common with 18's, I know what you mean because I used to shift that way. This is a new concept to me.
+Jeff Favignano me too cause I never Heard of that before. Have you ever drove a real semi before? I never got to haul actual cargo but I got to see what it's like to be a real truck driver by taking the driving course. I haul 137.000 lbs of sand everyday on B-Trains and the jake sounds awesome.
just a suggestion when you're drivin slow like u was turning onto the highway at the beginning of the video turn your hazards on and samething if your on the mountains
great new truck really loving it. will miss the old rig.
Awesome truck Jeff beautiful looking I got a new one myself the Argosy Freightliner I kept my Peterbilt though gave it to a lucky driver still loving your series I"m still having a good week hope you are too see ya man
Great video Jeff! I'm a huge fan of the Century as well, so I'm glad to see you using it. Thanks for posting.
Great video as always man! Love the new truck
Hey Jeff great video love the new truck a lot!!!!!
Nice new truck! Amazing thumbnail for the video too.
It looks like you're using a 10speed, and if you are you're doing pretty much everything right. I'd consider upping to more gears when you get a chance. 13-18 if possible, that way when you're on a hill like that you have a little more low end grunt.
+Austin Lane yeah good idea
Hey Jeff! Love your new Freightliner!
Have a great day Jeff!
Every time you intro saying "my name is Jeff Favignano" In my head I always finish there and say "with the Blaine county sheriffs department, do you know why I'm stopping you today" Hahaha, just me?
Here in Minnesota it's heating up it's getting to 40 and 50 that's good for Minnesota in February
very awesome truck jeff, I see those a lot in my city
Jeff looks like Trucker Josh now
hey jeff great video, love the new freightliner truck!!!
Love the new truck Jeff!
It was a great video you got a fantastic truck the color white is perfect but you should really try some other colors like sky blue or some fancier quarters and maybe you could do a video where you using two trucks and it's basically transporting concert or special event equipment from one Stadium to another it would be perfect for you and another driver
You can pre-select the splitter switch when in gear. Like from 1H to 2L. Instead of switching splitter while in neutral. Just a little tip.
+Michael Gruntz Jr that is what I do bub
Been waiting for this all day bud
Hey Jeff, keep up the good work!
☆☆☆
+Joshua Tolen what
Meaning it in a good way
+Joshua Tolen ok is jeff sick he sounds sick to me
idk
What American truck simulator do you have
my husband drives a 2009 Frieghtliner Columbia and it is almost the perfect truck, you should try it in your next video
Hey jeff. just wanted to say, love your videos and i dont understand how someone couldnt. keep it up!
+Jeff Favignano your new truck is badass and I love your videos and are more ats videos coming out
+Jeff Favignano huge fan of yours my favorite RUclipsr
I found it it works and looks great I painted it to look like my real truck thanx!!!!
Notifaction Squad?? I'm gonna love this video!!!!
Nice work as always, Jeff!
Does your truck have LL/LH gears for those dreaded hill starts?
+Luke yes now it does
week's goin alright. Been looking at possibly becoming a real truck driver myself :D
Congrats my step dad was a truck driver and he took me on trips.its a lot of fun
I know it's probably a dumb question... But wats track eye r or whatever
How much do all the mods cost? I'm not cheap I'm just curious. I recently got into this game but just haven't found a steering pedals n shifter set for a reasonable price. Any ideas anyone? I would appreciate it
I love your new freightliner!
As always awesome video man! I'm really liking the new truck!!!!
those fun hills are real my partner asked me to slow down on them lmao
ok, that thing needs more power asap. I thought you would gonna choose the 109,000 lbs gravel on the freight market, that would have been a first gear only drive to the destination
wait..the truck is a mod right? theres still a requirement level to use it?
I want to build a gaming pc that can specifically play GTA5 and american truck simulater. what are your pc specs?
does your new truck have turn signals if so you need to use them
I watched Nate Diaz beat the dog mess out of Conor McGregor this weekend while putting some change in my pocket.
Also, I think a cool mod would be if a car decides to slow down and let you over they will flash their lights at you (like you do in real life) so it works with turning your hazards on to say 'thank you'.
those transmission are crazy learned how to drive on one it was really aggravating at first but they will run forever
8 years driving semis
nice freight liner
How did you get that truck? (The Freightliner Century) I just got that game and don't have it. Do you start with the Peterbilt 389 and 579 and the Kenworth T680 and W900?
it was a mod I had it linked in the description. I don't think it works with 1.5 these days
What do you mean?
hey Jeff, came for American truck have watched a few lspdfr's liking it more and more. do have a comment that weight mod yes dos make truck act better but looked at wieghts.
Some Random Guy - GTA 5 And More ! It was actually warmer like 80!
Hey, Jeff! I was wondering when you were going to do another hosted iRacing session. Cause i would LOVE to race against you.
Hi I'm not a truck driver but my dad is and I ride with him a lot and when getting off the interstate with a heavy load, what he does is throw on the jakes and when he hits the ramp turn them off and glides up the hill.
Are there any mods for double trailers (two short ones)? Not sure what the official name is called. If there is, I would really like to see you post a video pulling them.
There is, but not like two separate it's just like two trailers with the physics of one.
ha.. when you said you like the road noise and went ''woooo'' reminded me of that beluga whale with poor vision that did that to see with sonar on finding dory XD
Hey Jeff. I have followed you from almost a year now. Im from Denmark and love all your videos.
questions, what settings are you use for the high and low gear shit? it git the logitech DRIVING FORCE SHIFTER for G920.
love the new truck but i will defiantly miss the old classic. p.s i looooooove to watch you play ats and any other game keep up the good work
that is a cool truck Jeff
The truck looks awesome. It's a shame that they are the stock sounds for the Peterbilt
Hey Jeff TIP, just go to switch profiles and select yours again, it will fix it without you having to restart the whole game!
Probably what he did....
+connor mcdonnell yup figured that out haha thanks man
Hey Jeff, isn't your schedule for Ameeican Truck today
Jeff try letting out on the clutch while the parking brake is on , then release the parking brake while the clutch is engaged. I've got in that situation once or twice. ;)
When the clutch is about half engaged
+FunkyA that is what I was doing, the trailer weight mod is just too much weight.
+Jeff Favignano ahh gotcha
jeff
my ats is frezzing and lagging can you pleas help me
I was driving that same truck for the milk company I work for and I love the cup holders they're very convenient
How good does a desktop need to be to run this game? Can it be a simple computer or has to be expensive
not much tbh like a ryzen 5 1400 and a rx580 4gb or a gtx 1060 4gb and 8gb ram will do
New player. How do I do the seat adjustment up?
I've driven 99 a million times throughout the years and more than a few times in this video it reminded me exactly of it. If the developers based most of their imagery on Google Maps images they did a fantastic job.
Yo jeff can you do like a facecam of one of these types of Videos. Im really liking this american truck sim
Hey there. I was wondering where you bought this game and do you use a steering wheel
I guess Jeff that is the correct technique of shifting coz i saw a vid title "Kenworth W900L Shifting and Jakebraking" on utube itself and hes switching something before every shift so i guess wht ur doing is right.....great vid....keep em coming!!!
