    I'm from Kashmir and Most of the facts are fairly right in a broad sense but what you've not mentioned is the HATRED that Muslims have for non Muslims ( Christians, Jews , Hindus mainly ) be it Kashmir, Bangladesh, xinjuang, Europe . The Hindus were systematically slaughtered or driven out , those who stayed had to convert , this is the story anywhere Muslims form a majority
    The Indian army is only doing what a sovereign govt would of with separatists backed by Pakistan . Hope you understand this sitting in a far corner , don't just go by media and statistics

    All the Kashmiris who want to join Pakistan should be allowed to leave Indian territory and go to Pakistan. India will not give away of any of its land.
    Just like the millions of Hindu Sindhis who were asked to leave Sindh empty handed in 1947 inspite of being in the majority in 4 of Sindh's districts and totally dominating the economy of Sindh and its capital - Karachi. India did not even get a square inch of Sindh. Giving up any more territory is out of question.

      Blinding unarmed protesters with pellets is the situation there. If you want a jingoistic anti-Pakistan narrative then maybe better stick to Arnab's vitriol. Shirvan is an Azerbaijani and he really would have no problem criticizing Pakistan if Pakistan was to be blamed for the unrest in Kashmir.

      frozendilemma LMAO @ peaceful unarmed protestors. These are people hurling rocks to the heads of the security personnel there. Even I'm against the use of pellet guns. REAL weapons must be used against violent protestors instead.
      Have you seen the photos of the Burhan Wani and the rest of the militant pigs holding AK 47s there? Where do you think they got those guns from? Who do you think trained them to fight against soldiers? Naah, it can't be peace loving Pakistan, right?

So what if they butchered 3 million Bangladeshis and raped thousands of their women in 1971? Pak wud never give ammunition and training to terrorists in Kashmir.

    Muslims from outside India invaded and captured Kashmir. Hindus were killed,, forced to convert etc over hundreds of years. Now,, after both sheikh Abdullah and Maharaja Ranjit Singh opted to join India,, where is the question of azadi fir Muslims in Kashmir? Those who consider themselves not native to India,, can leave n go wherever they like. Those who consider themselves Indian,, can live happily like millions of Muslims in other parts of India. What's special about kashmiri Muslims as compared to others in rest of India. ? There's no question of giving even an inch of Kashmir. In fact, India should settle other Indians in Kashmir, like China is doing in Tibet,, to make Kashmir like rest of the county. That's what has been lacking all these years.

And Under control? No mate Violence at its peak from Kashmirs side religious extremism at rise and from India's side I dont need to mention the human rights violation. How long will India use brute force to keep things under control? The kids that are growing up seeing their father being taken away for a conspirisy you think that kid in his early adulthood 20 years from now wont start another revolt? Right thats the short term solution whats your long term solution? You are not saying Indian military will be stationed there forever are you? The moment the army leaves they will remind themselves of the wounds the Army caused them over the decades. Remember the military isnt saint either they are committing atrocities as well and these events will stay in public mind for a while they will just hold themselves until the Army leaves. A long term solution is to make the Kashmir people feel less of a Pakistani and more of an Indian but that wont happen because of the sour relation India created with Kashmir so just think about it before taking an action

      "For the United States, economist William T. Dickens found that full-employment unemployment rate varied a lot over time but equaled about 5.5 percent of the civilian labor force during the 2000s. Recently, economists have emphasized the idea that full employment represents a "range" of possible unemployment rates. For example, in 1999, in the United States, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) gives an estimate of the "full-employment unemployment rate" of 4 to 6.4%. This is the estimated unemployment rate at full employment, plus & minus the standard error of the estimate."

      In southern italy among the younger workers the unemployement rate in 2013-2014 was mor than 40%

    I still maintain that the root cause of Kashmir conflict is the gradual change in its demography during the Afghan rule.
    1 - For example the root cause of Homophobic laws in Uganda is arrival of Christianity. If they were still pagans, chances are they wouldn't have cared about anyone's orientation. There would be no LRA.
    2 - Root cause of subjugation of women in Afghanistan is the extinction of Buddhism from there and arrival of Islam.
    3 - Root cause of why native American or Australian languages are undergoing extinction is the arrival of White Europeans.
    4 - Root cause of Kashmir problem is the arrival of Afghan rule which led to Islamization of the valley.
    5 - If the Indian army vacates, Jihadist groups will sieze power and turn the valley into another Syria.
    6 - Job creation in Kashmir necessitates regular flow of tourists - for this stability is needed as the Kashmir valley is only an area of dimensions 100 km and 150 km. It has limited resources but a large population.
    7 - Kashmir is also prone to floods and earthquakes - setting up an industry is neither easy nor safe.
    8 - The biodiversity in Kashmir is depleting, the glaciers are melting, the archaeological sites are being neglected - India has to retain control.

      In fact the 4th Buddhist council was held in Kashmir.
      In thé last 500 years Native American population has decreased from 100% to less than 2%, Native Australian population has decreased from 100% to less than 1%. Similarly Kashmiri non-Muslim population has decreased from 100% to around 3%.
      The biggest mass exodus after independence of India was the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus by Islamists.
      Government had no choice but to crackdown on the Islamists.

    Hari Singh joined India after Pakistan-backed lashkars invaded J&K in 1947 in violation of a Standstill agreement between J&K and Pakistan, to force J&K to join Pakistan. This has been very neatly ignored. Lahore Declaration is mentioned but Kargil backstab is ignored. Kashmiri Pandits did not flee because of 'escalating violence'- they were brutally killed and their women were raped. Operation Gibraltar, Operation Grand Slam nothing finds a mention. A simple comparison between PoK and Indian Kashmir could have been there to make it more subjective but alas no media is allowed in PoK, Gilgit or Balochistan to know what's happening there. More people are 'missing' in Balochistan than people 'detained' in Kashmir and mind you the Balochi population is much lesser than the Kashmiri population.

    +CaspianReport your report about Kashmir is biased. Unfortunately you have gave in to religious,ethnic affiliations. As part of Social media and journalism you are suppose to be neutral and secular. Audio- Visual media affects people's mind more drastically then any other. Your video report has following severe flaws/biases.
    (1)You have solely focused on Situations Indian Administered Kashmir and completely ,purposely Omitted mentioning situation in Pakistan occupied Kashmir .
    (2) Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir and other Princely states were ruled by "Kings/Prince" NOT by "Nobleman". They were sympathetic to colonial rule.
    (3) In your Video at 3:10 stated that New Delhi divided kashmir in to 3 regions. A very Wrong statement because new delhi didn't divided state as it simply dont have constitutional rights to do because of Article 370.
    On otherhand Pakistan divided Its occupied Kashmir or Azad kashmir into different regions of Muzaffrabad ,Gilgit ,baltistan.
    Also give significant portion of Kashmir Shaksgam valley to China. What kind of nation give away territory of alley ?
    (4) In Video at 5:05 joint Lahor declaration failure is sole responsibility of state of Pakistan because of kargil war in 1999. Which they themselves started. You failed mentioned (purposely) that.
    (5) In your Video at 5:25 India took advantage of September 11 attacks , please specify .
    (6) In your Video at about 5:44 Human rights violations by Indian army you stated , again failed to clearly mention situation in P.O.K. and vicious heinous cycle of violence by Radicals. plight of Non Muslims in valley (purposely).
    (7) In Video at about 8:52 u/s 144 of criminal procedure act assembly is banned. Please do research again and specify whether it is Cr.P.C. or RANBIR PENAL CODE or INDIAN PENAL CODE.
    (8) B.J.P. or Indian people's party as you mentioned at 10:07 , seeking to "construct Housing colony for soldiers family " please give CITATIONS. Art 370 of Indian constitution prohibits any citizen from Other Indian states to move in Kashmir.
    Instead Pakistan HAVE NO SUCH PROVISIONS many Panjabis and pathans not belonging to Kashmir moved into P.O.K.
    (9) at about 12:40 Iranian concerns are overstated.
    (10) at about 13:40 Indus river treaty fears unnecessary and Highlighted purposely.
    (11) At about 14:53 India is CONFEDERATION which is absolutely false statement.
    INDIA is QUASI-FEDERAL REPUBLIC .
    According to Indian constitution India is "Union" this unique term coined for QUASI-FEDERALISM inspired from CANADIAN and AUSTRALIAN constitutions.
    Lastly you need amend your mistakes as they seriously damaging to reputation of responsible Nation which is only democracy in chaotic Asia still strong while others crumbles in middle east.

      +AltamishTahir well bro,the difference between Junagadh-Hyderabad and Kashmir is this,in the first case when the people revolted,the Nizam cracked down on his subjects,so vallabhai patel gave them an ultimatum that they must stop killing people or else we would intervene,thats exactly what happened and the locals were delirious with excitement. Now Kashmir,when Hari Singh was dilly-dallying over the decision,Pakistan decided to invade kashmir and annex it like we did with Hyderabad. The difference here was,the local Kashmiris saw the soldiers and alerted the indian authorities,because of which hari singh had to accede to india to get access to our army and defend kashmir.
      Now this was either because they had witnessed the pakistani invaders burning villages and targeting minority sect muslims and non muslims ,which goes against their ages of peaceful co-existence.
      As far as the rest of your post is concerned im sorry to say that the reason you think we are hypocrites is because the pakistani establihment feeds their public lies. Before you say our media is doing something similar,our medias reports are backed by the US,Russia,EU ,UK basically anyone fighting against terrorism in the world.So the next time you see a news report,check out the same report on BBC or CNN and make up your mind then.

    Dear Shirvan, firstly thanks for choosing the topic. Now, I appreciate your study work on the issue. But after all, being a resident of India, I can assure you that you missed many points... The India-Pakistan division was too complex to simplify it in such way. Another pint is you really don't get the 'Jihadism' perspective of the Kashmir Unrest. India has suffered one division based on religion. It can't and will not afford anymore... Pakistan funds militants and supports Jihadi Terrorism. The recent Uri Attack is enough evident. Pakistani Weapons and other proofs are there, which are enough evident. Please have a deeper study of India-Pakistan history to understand this point more clearly.Best Wishes..

      I will respect you, as you seen someone who is knowledge and doesn't speak out of their asses as some of the people here do. I think Indians always have played the Pakistan supports terror card, and this needs to stop. It is the Pakistani army engaging in action against these groups. The army is cleaning the messes of the byproducts of other nations foreign policies in the Pak-afghan region. Sadly, our men are paying the price too. The Indians always forget that our army men and our people die fighting, again I repeat fighting these groups. Not mention, has not occurred to you, that your groups are attempting to destabilize Pakistan as well? How you are supporting a few Idiot radicals in bolochistan and attempting to give them "safe" haven. So please, educate yourself better. Open your mind this should go to all Indians. • @manofsan
    @manofsan 8 лет назад +68

    Shirwan, your analysis and retelling of the story is completely false and propagandist. I have totally lost faith in your objectivity and professionalism. You are telling the story from a Pakistani point of view, literally depending on false information provided by Pakistan. Your commentary was complete propaganda.
    Jinnah was not motivated by Junagadh or Hyderabad - the conflict over Hyderabad only broke out after after the Kashmir conflict did, and was resolved after the Kashmir ceasefire. Furthermore, the "Muslim nobleman" ruling Hyderabad had already started massacring many Hindus using his Razakar army.
    The Kashmir issue is driven by the Durand Line (so-called Afghan-Pak "border"). During the period of British rule, they had conquered part of the Pashtun lands through imperial war, and these conquered areas were constantly rebelling against British control. After independence and partition, the new state of Pakistan inherited those Pashtun lands and their ethnic nationalist unrest. When Kashmir decided to go the route of becoming an independent state, Pakistan leader Jinnah was terrified that the Pashtuns would quickly follow suit and pursue independence for themselves, and so he decided to kill 2 birds with one stone by despatching the Pashtun tribal militias to attack Kashmir, on the pretext that "Islam was in danger".
    It's important to understand that the decision by Kashmir to go the route of being an independent state was undertaken by mutual agreement between "Hindu nobleman" Maharaja Hari Singh and Muslim political leader Sheikh Abdullah. After Pakistan invaded Kashmir using the Pashtun militias (forerunners of today's Taliban), both the "Hindu nobleman" Hari Singh and Sheikh Abdullah signed the Instrument of Accession to India - both of them, not one of them.
    India has held numerous elections in Kashmir over the decades, without incident or problems. It's only once the US began backing Pakistan closely during the Afghan War against the Soviets, while turning a blind eye as Pakistan nuclearized itself, that Pakistan became bold enough to pursue an intense insurgency strategy against India. Pakistan backed insurgency not only inside Kashmir but also in other parts of India, including the Indian state of Punjab which it destabilized first before doing the same in Kashmir.
    Once again, to repeat - the root of all of Pakistan's conflicts with neighbors lies in the Durand Line (so-called Afghan-Pak "border") and its unsustainability. Pakistan equally pursues a policy of destabilization and insurgency in Afghanistan, just as it does in India. Both of these insurgency wars in Afghanistan and Indian Kashmir are the legacy of US support to Pakistan during the 1980s for the purpose of bleeding and defeating the Soviet Union.

    "Ideologically muslim majority area is part of pakistan " this logic died in 1971 when Bangladesh got independence from pakistan( Not to mention Pakistan did Genocide in erstwhile East pakistan which is now bangladesh).
    True India has Hindu Majority but is a Secular country.So your opinion " Ideologically Kashmir should be part of pakistan" stands null and void.

      Correct. Kashmir seems an ideological issue. created by the support of ideological Muslims to remind the world that muslims cannot live with others. They are not like another human, they are 'superior'. Kashmir unrest doesn't have well beings of Kashmiris in the heart. It is a war to show the 'proof of concept'.
      A proof of concept which, as you pointed out, lost its ground with the independence of Bangladesh, With Shia-Sunni conflict etc., etc.
      Kashmir, like Syria and Iraq, like Afghanistan, like Pakistan and like similar such places in the world, is just a playing field for Oil rich, ideologically extremist, orthodox Wahabis to say the humanity F**k you -- we won't let you live.

      Regardless of who is right or wrong, for whatever reasons, Kashmir has more strategic value than the inhabitants for the Indians. The entire Himalayas chain, most of it uninhabitable, is the birthplace and headwaters of the great rivers of Asia. The Mekong, Yellow, Ganges, Brahmaputra and the 5 rivers that water Pakistani Punjab. The Indians will hold onto Kashmir as will the Chinese to Tibet, not for altruistic or nationalistic reasons but strategic ones. On the same note, would the US give up the entire Southern and large portions of the Rockies that it stole from Mexico? The Colorado River is a trickle by the time it exits to the sea in Tijuana. Not likely. This is not about nationalism and religion, it is survival. You can't drink your iPhone when you are parched or your fields need water and the Indians will fight for every inch for the Kashmiri soil.

    This is a relatively balanced report on the Kashmir issue, unlike what a lot of Indians are claiming here.
    But Kashmir has long been a thorn in this region's geopolitics. The only sensible solution to the Kashmir issue is an internationally monitored plebiscite that gives Kashmiris a right to choose their own destiny (independence, Pakistan or India). But neither side wants this as India suspects that it'll open up doors for secessionists in the North-east and they might end up losing the Kashmir Valley and Pakistan thinks that it won't get the whole of Kashmir (Jammu and Ladakh) if such a plebiscite occurs.
    But this is the only solution. Because of Kashmir, both countries have been at each other's throats and have wasted copious amount of resources on fighting each other. And given the other social problems that plague both of these countries, they cannot afford to continue this for much longer. I really hope a compromise could be reached on this issue and Pakistan and India can resolve their differences like France and Germany did.

    Those Kashmiris who ask for Aazadi (Independence), take a moment or two to introspect, or at least go through a history lecture. To look at the situation, look back in the history a thousand years, not some 70-80 years. Just because the barbaric Islamic population can desecrate the Vedic Temples, and make the Hindus flee, does not mean that they represent Kashmir. Rather understand, that a piece of land is a mirror of it's cultural heritage, a legacy of its ancestors. Hence, as integral a part of the secular India, Kashmir is now, it will be such forever. India will not panic and fall prey to radical Islam. We the people of India will fight it fearlessly.

    • @PicklePickle7
      @PicklePickle7 8 лет назад +8

      *****
      Yes I am a Baluch. When I look at the Kurds I remember my people. Kurdistan is split into 4 countries that are oppressing them. And They are trying to reunify their lands and gain independence. So in this regard they are very similar to us. Before ISIS and the growing Kurdish control in Iraq and Syria I used to think that the co-operation between them and us is a realistic possibility as we both need independence from Iran to create our nations. But know that most of the world is supporting the Kurds it is becoming less likely they would make use of our help.
      I did know the Kurds existed before the war in Syria and Iraq. But only became interested in them as a people after it. And I started researching about their history and culture, and I learned a lot (like Saladin was actually a Kurd :D). Their culture differ from ours but I really like it, however I notice that our musics are a little bet similar.
      So overall I have a lot of respect for them.
      And I know the Kurds speak a northwestern Iranian language like us. I heard some spoken Kurdish once and almost couldn't understand anything. But another time I heard I could catch some words whens I was focusing and understand what they were talking about in general. But still not enough to communicate. I guess I heard different Kurdish dialects/languages the first and second time.
      *Now regarding the Medes*. I know the Kurds consider themselves the descendants of the medes. But I notice most of them treating this like a fact. I don't see it as a fact or a myth but simply a possibility. That is because the only reason they say this is because their language is descendant from the Median language. But language isn't always a good way to determine ancestry. For example 80 million Egyptians speak Arabic but that doesn't mean they are all Arabs, A lot of them are Arabised and we know the history behind it. However sometimes we don't know the history. but that doesn't mean we should jump into conclusions and treat them as facts. For example I am a Baluch and we speak a northwestern Iranian language but we are the only northwestern speakers who live in the southeast of Iran. There was no historical documentation of how the language got there or when. But there is multiple theories that try to explain that and I do consider the best of them as possible concrete explanation but not as facts. Also I'd like to quote Garnik Asatrian: "the relationship between Kurdish and Median are not closer than the affinities between the latter and other North Western dialects-Baluchi, Talishi, South Caspian, Zaza, Gurani, etc."

    I'm from India and I gotta say this is pretty unbiased and realistic. Although I don't understand why the Kashmiris believe unemployment would be less if they join Pakistan or become a new state ( which would orbit Pakistan culturally and economically anyway ) . I mean it's obvious that unemployment would be worse if kashmir joins pakistan......or perhaps not , not with Chinese investment. Hmmm perhaps but it would still open it to the fundamentalist groups from Afghanistan and North Pakistan too. And China's suppression of Uighur muslims won't sit well with then either . Not when they themselves are fighting against what they sometimes rightfully percieve as Indian suppression of themselves. Yeah kashmir is in an loss -loss situation.

    Borders should be drawn based on public vote, not decisions from people on the top rung of society. Denmark and Germany did it. So should the rest of the world. It might clear up many religious and ethnic tensions, where groups have been arbitrarily separated or forced together.

    • @paleikas3180
      @paleikas3180 8 лет назад +7

      So if you have a Muslim majority neighborhood in Aarhus or Copenhagen they could secede and form their own Islamic Republic by popular vote and just appropriate all property in the area? Maybe I can just secede and declare my properties a separate state, so I can do what I want and avoid property tax?

    • @jalioswilinghart
      @jalioswilinghart 8 лет назад +1

      P HWE You dont understand how the vote went if you think a single individual should just become their own nation because they are cheapskates. Places where clear ethnic groups and religious tensions are, new nations should probably be made, and how those borders should go, should be based on the vote of the people there. "Do you want to be part of nation X or Y?" That way, borders might look silly, but the largest amount of people will be getting exactly what they want, clearing out a lot of tension. Its not just "If city B or individual N wants to succeed".

    • @jalioswilinghart
      @jalioswilinghart 8 лет назад +2

      ***** You do know that many radical hindu sects have been lynching muslims for eating cow right? Religious tensions are far from over within India. If there is clear tension, that has resulted in almost martial law, with daily riots and protests, do you really think the way to solve it is to do nothing?

    • @paleikas3180
      @paleikas3180 8 лет назад

      jalioswilinghart I think it's strange to acknowledge a group's right for independence (given how many ways one can define a group i.e. religious, lingual, ethnic etc.) without giving the individual the same right. Of course it is ideal to have states in which one has a common law, and liberal constitution that grants civil liberties, like in the case of Switzerland a multi-lingual, yet relatively successful country with very little tensions between groups. I have been playing with the idea of redrawing the post-colonial into ethnic or religious "nations" much like what was done in Europe in the post-imperial times. I just don't see how this can be voted on, given other factors such as economic investments, infrastructiure etc. I think it's very hard in practice, hence why it isn't done.

    • @jalioswilinghart
      @jalioswilinghart 8 лет назад +2

      P HWE Denmark and Germany did it. Germany had in the past conquered part of Denmark, thus a lot of Danish speaking Germans lived in the now north of Germany. Later a vote decided how the border should go, based on the vote of the people living there. Those who wished to remain part of Germany, did so. Those who wished to become part of Denmark again, became part of it again. I think its a much better solution than all out war, giving approval for sometimes radical separatist movements, leading to all out civil war.

      Yeah, but, certainly speak to a few of the people affect before jumping in. This should have been academically stoic - with a journalistic integrity that would overcome the bias. This Production shows one of three things;
      1). He did not do enough research into the historical background (prior to 1990), or foolishly ignored it.
      2). He then places an incorrect (based in improper research) or negligent (knowingly false) conjecture onto the issue.
      3). It culminates into an either truncated/hurried (which does the material/issue much more disservice to begin with as it does not properly add truth, or fails to accurately
      report a few key points) or biased (and "inadvertently" heavily in favor of Pakistan) report that does serious damage to the integrity of his other pieces.
      Admittedly every researcher has biases. Sure. However if he can be as biased (and as incorrect) on this - how and where has he been wrong on others before? What is the root of his bias here? How much of a value does his bias play on him? Does the proximity to his home, affect his own bias? Based on the hasty way in which he approached this topic (becuase even the cursory Google searches will lead anyone to pertienet documentation that reinforces well documented and long standing issues regarding Pakistan, the Pakistani involvement to terrorism, or Pakistani involvement in Kashmir - post 1990), is it only becuase he had biased sources (which makes him a poor researcher), or just becuase he actually has a bias? Can we trust his reporting on Azerbaijan? As he is one of the most prominent Azerbaijani voices on RUclips, is he misrepresenting them via bias?
      Before he tackles another topic, he needs to bounce the ideas off of key researchers/audiances first. The report presents massive logical and some informational fallacies. For his future progression, and the integrity of his brand - I hope there is no repeat of this magnitude.

    1. The partition was not on religious lines for India. Only Pakistan was formed as Islamic state, while India is a secular country.
    This is evident by the fact that Muslims constitute 96% of PAkistan while every 5th person in India belongs to a minority such as Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism etc.
