Stock looks beyond risky based on the numbers. Burned through 80% of their cash in the last 3 quarters, have a negative 34% free cash flow yield, have diluted investors around 50% since 2020, forward pe is 121 when trailing pe is 57 (things are expected to get worse), while being a microcap. Ad is likely a last ditch effort to get more investors to prevent bankruptcy to dilute even more.

They all predicted we would have reached saturation of oil production 20 years ago... but here we are extracting still a metric f-ton out of the earth and consumption isnt sinking either. Goldman Sachs is predicting increase in usage through 2034 even, that's enough time to build those rigs and sell the stuff to China and the entirety of power hungry emerging markets.

  • @lon3wolfpk
    @lon3wolfpk 29 дней назад +202

As a Baloch Programmer, developer & coder, I understand the potential of this oil discovery, but there’s more to the story than meets the eye. When the video mentions 'Islamabad,' it’s referring to the central government, but the reality is that it’s the establishment, the army and certain political forces who have been controlling Balochistan. They’ve consistently marginalized local communities, with unjust military operations, resource exploitation, and little regard for Baloch rights.
One serious issue is the Afghan refugees who have been settled in Balochistan with support from the establishment. Over the years, many have claimed lands that belong to the local Baloch, including strategic routes, despite originally coming as refugees. These settlements, enabled by military backing, seem like a planned effort to replace the Baloch and alter the region’s demographics, furthering instability.
If this new discovery is to benefit anyone, it must be directed by genuine Baloch leaders who are loved and trusted by the people of Balochistan. Not proxies, not military puppets, and certainly not those who are here to replace the Baloch. Only then can we ensure that this newfound wealth uplifts Balochistan and respects the rights of its native population without interference from an establishment that has consistently acted against the interests of Balochistan. Without authentic Baloch representation, this will just be another chapter in the long history of exploitation.

Absolutely, but who corrupted them in the first place? The big oil companies in the west.
Take an experienced technocrat and send him into a village in the middle of nowhere where they have no education or understand the news from the other side of the world. I bet you can sell central heating to them even if they have no winter and import ice for them even if they are located in the arctic circle.
Look at Afghanistan or Iran. They wanted to modernize but Islam was useful tool to stop communism. This is why the communists used to end up tortured in prison while religious figures were allowed to operate their network in Ghom only 30 miles from Shah's palace in Tehran openly and that idiot used to go to Mashad or Mecca and put on a white robe and pray. Never mind that just a few days before magazines were full of his picture on the beach next to his queen in bikini with her tits almost popping out. Even then people were saying what is this idiot doing he is insulting the faith.
It is not hard to give a bunch of already religious uneducated farmers a weapon and tell them to shoot down a helicopter and shout Allah Akbar.
But now the same Allah Akbar gets you sent to Guantanamo Bay or worse have you shot by a red neck police officer.
They weren't like Japan that needed two nuclear bombs to bring them down to their knees.
Corruption in terms of value is much bigger in Germany or the U.S. than it is in Pakistan.
When Germans do it, it is on a scale that is unimaginable.
Everyone has a price but like everything else it is relative like relative to their next-door neighbor.
So, stop getting on your high horse and lecturing others. You see the needle, but you are missing the plank in your own eyes.

Argentina: here’s several billion to run your government, except you can’t run your government with it; you can only service foreign bonds and debt obligations. Pakistan doesn't meet the requirements for oil reserves in the offshores
there also have been no resent geological survey
many operations have been drilling for oil since 60 years and didn't find any
its highly unlikely that there would be any oil reserves there

As someone born in Karachi, it makes me happy to hear that there may be good news on the horizon for Pakistan. There are definite problems in Pakistan, but if Turkey can invest in Somalia (as the video also points out), then surely it can do so again in Pakistan.
What is sad is to read some of the commentaries here trying to negate the prospect of good news for Pakistan. Some of us have cheered when we hear about the growing economy of India. I just wonder why some people just keep trying to put down even a the slightest good news coming from
Pakistan. It speaks volumes about some of Pakistan’s neighbors.

Hi, 15-year oil and gas business professional here. Geological (I'm assuming seismic) surveys alone do not constitute "discoveries". As per SPE PRMS definitions a discovery would require a well to be drilled confirming the presence of hydrocarbons with logs and a well test to prove moveable fluid. These are exploration leads or prospects at best. Prospects' average rate of success / discovery would be 1 in 10 wells. I don't know much about the Pakistani offshore geology, but a quick Google search indicates that companies have been drilling there since the 1960's. Assuming these companies were technically sound, they would have drilled the largest prospects early on therefore increasing the risk profile of an economic discovery in future drilling campaigns. While it is possible that a sleeping giant is out there somewhere, I would not count your chickens just yet. This seems to all just feed some speculation machine and any decisions being made by the government or any investors on these discoveries will most likely lose money.

The government will want kickbacks, the courts will intervene and the bureaucracy will ensure that no work starts for decades.
And then there is the question of who will benefit from all the oil. At best, Pakistan can become another Nigeria.
