Israel is basically the result of Zionist settler-colonialism, and that’s not just my opinion-it’s right there in their early writings. If you take a look at the literature from the time, they were already talking about colonialism as a tool to take over Palestinian land. Zionists even admitted that the Palestinians wouldn’t just step aside without resistance. They used classic colonialist language to describe the local population, calling them "uncivilized" or treating them as less human-something that still happens today. Let’s not forget that the Jewish population in Palestine was around 20,000 in the early 1900s and to 1920's it doubled, and then suddenly it skyrocketed. That wasn’t by chance. It was part of a deliberate effort by Zionists to create a Jewish state on land where people were already living. Yes, the Jewish community has faced horrible persecution and absolutely needed protection, but that doesn’t justify building a country on someone else’s land and forcing people out of their homes. How would you feel if someone showed up, claimed your house as their own, and told you to leave because of their religious connection to the land? Zionists even considered other places like Argentina and Uganda to establish their state, but Palestine was chosen because of its religious significance to Jewish people. It wasn’t just about creating a safe space; it was about drawing on that religious symbolism to rally support for the cause. But that land is also significant to Muslims and Christians. So why should one group have more right to it than the others? The idea that any religion gives someone a right to a specific territory is just outdated and frankly dangerous. If you take the time to read Zionist literature, you’ll see that what’s happening is far from self-defense. It’s about expanding a settler-colonial project that displaces and oppresses Palestinians. Their end goal in reality is to take over all of palestine, parts of Lebanon and Syria. This argument oversimplifies history. The concept of a modern "nation-state" didn't exist for most of the timeline listed, so it's misleading to judge Palestinian statehood by ancient empires' presence. Local identity and self-determination matter; just because there wasn't a formal "Palestinian state" doesn't mean there weren’t people with ties to the land. Modern international law recognizes the right to self-determination, which supports Palestinian statehood regardless of past empires. Using history selectively to deny this right ignores the region's complex past and the principles of justice today.
your argument also works for israel. it has the right to self- determination. it has the right to exist. it has to defend itself by whatever means at its disposal to ensure that. until that is respected, there will be no peace @@منوعات2024-ط5ر

The plan is to Annex it, and encourage immigration to all the wonderful nations who love Palestinians, such as Canada, Norway, Spain and Ireland. Gaza will never be in the control of arabs again, and the west bank of the Jordan river will be annexed shortly during this trump administration.

I just read the '74 treaty, everything listed is purely between the 2 countries while there is only 1 extremely vague mention of both parties are to try to adhere to the treaty conditions regardless of external mechanics. Technically, Israel didn't break the treaty as there are more than enough evidence to validate that weapons and tunnels were indeed brought/linked to/fro Egypt (Cause and effect) And as always, the buffer zone is purely for deterrence/outlook (between either nations) for a possible invasion which Israel should have clearly indicated and demonstrated they only have the intent to secure it as to prevent transport of ANY weapons/terrorists coming in gaza to aid or escape to Egypt.

Another OPTION -- is for Egypt -- to allow the construction of a SINAI CORRIDOR -- parallel to the Philadelphi Corridor -- on Egypt's side of the Gaza border. This Sinai Corridor will still be Egypt's land -- but the IDF will be allowed to patrol it and prevent tunnels between Egypt and Gaza. The big advantage is that the IDF -- in the Sinai Corridor -- will have NO direct contact with the Palestinians.
NOW it will be the world largest open air prison. But what to do? Gazans had themselves asked for such a solution, as they werent happy to live in an open, big Gaza with all facilities and even some luxury in there... Only some (inefficient) control to stop influx to Hamas.
I realize you dont want to hear this, but there were TWO Jewish settlements one in Gaza and one in Hebron destroyed by Oct 7th like riots way back in 1929. Yes, enraged Muslims attacked Jewish communities that had lived there for 800+ years. Murder, mayhem, looting, rape etc.
The amount of commenters just pointing out HAMAS responsibility and looking over all of the crimes committed by Israeli government and forces up to that point shows the importance of objective coverage.

Out of the 700,000 of Palestinians who fled in 1948, 2/3 ended up in Gaza or the WB. Still in the territory of Palestine and not what a true refugee is, but still coddled as so. They have been more than amply helped via billions of dollars of aid to them and their descendants. They have become dependent, and their leaders make lots of $ from foreign sources by keeping the conflict going.

Breaking news: declaring war on your neighbor and shouting for no peace forever means your neighbor will be mean and controlling until you change your mind Shocking stuff
And who all preaches here that Israel have the right to the new land, it is not just new land, but the new land with people and their resources. They can't get the land without the people. If the new gaza can have an equal treatment as a normal Israeli there wont be any war anymore.
Egypt has essentially blocked its border with Gaza since 2007 Hamas-ISIS overtook Gaza, just like Israel did, and rightfully so. But, Egypt didn't manage or wanted to cutoff Hamas-ISIS arm supply entirely, from many reasons, and Hamas-ISIS successfully armed itself against Israel until Hamas-ISIS October 7th invasion to Israel. Israel must stay in the Philadelfi corridor and prevent Hamas-ISIS from rearming themselves again, there's no alternative to that. The Egyptians violated their peace agreement with Israel many times ever since it was first signed, and Israel will have to do anything it can to keep itself safe from now on, and can't rely on Egypt for that.
Possible solution 1: Arabs in Gaza and Arabs in Judea & Samaria go to the other part of the existing 2 state solution... Jordan. Possible solution 2: British mandate messed up, so Gazans and Arabs in Judea & Samaria, all given refuge in UK. Scotland has a low population, needs workers. The Arabs could make a decent and safe life for themselves, in UK, stop the violence, live and prosper.
You completely missed out on the option that Israel would take full control over Gaza, including the health and especially the education system, and start teaching the Gazans how to live in a functioning society. THAT is the Israeli endgame plan. That is how us Israelis roll. We fix things. And fixing things sometimes requires tearing entire root systems out to fix the leaking pipe.
thats is not the plan at all? how ignorant can you be? israel intergrating palestenians into their society is literally completely againts their goal to ethnically cleanse palestine jesus christ the delusion
Wow, what a fun place the office workers are building. The whole world will be GAZA if something doesn't change. Hard compliance everywhere. No privacy. No real life. Just compliance.
Philadelphia (Egypt Gaza Borderline) and Netzarim (a line in the middle of Gaza which divides Gaza as South and North) Corridoors must be under Israeli ruling in order to prevent upcoming 7/10s
That actually is the reporters thought and other so called experts but if citizens are serious about peace they can choose for themselves and give peace a chance. Lay down you weapon and engage in diplomatic negotiations going forward for peace. Forget ideology, think life, think peace, think prosperity. Best example Japan.
Had Egipt been dutifully discharging its obligations under the peace treaty, October 8 would never happen, so they have now no moral right whatsoever to object to any Israeli policies regarding the Philadephi Corridor.
