October 7th didn't really work out well for them. And I don't understand why Hezbollah/Libanon started poking the bear, as if they wanted to be attacked. It's sad what they put their people through.
Its sad? Don't pretend you care. You don't care. If you cared you would have bothered to learn why they "poked the bear".
Why did they poke the bear then?
One important thing that I think was left out was all the effort Egypt has put in on their side to prevent smuggling into Gaza. They literally evicted thousands of people and bulldozed everything within a multi-kilometer buffer zone that is under control of their military in order to make smuggling harder. Nothing exists there now except for military facilities, the border crossing, piles of rubble, and dirt. A narrow strip of Israeli controlled pavement on the Gaza side of the border is nothing in comparison to what they have done.
Egypt is a military dictatorship that has to strangle its own population that, last time they voted, they democratically elected the Muslim Brotherhood (born from resistance when Egypt was under the British Empire) which is technically the origin of Hamas. It would be a whole other seperate video, and a long one at that.
The Egyptian side of things is often left out. The Egyptians more than anything fear the intermingling of the Iranian backed Hamas and their own insurgency in the Sinai. It's basically the entire reason the civilian population of Gaza has no where to go because the Egyptians feared that Hamas weapons or soldiers would end up joining up with their own rebels.
Yeah it looks like not many of their neighbors want the Palestinians to harbor terrorism
They did it on their own territory though.
@@XandateOfHeavenno, they fear the United States. Since independence who has meddled more in Egypt; Iran or the USA... You know the answer, so does the government of Egypt.
This plan reminds me a lot of the Spanish plan for winning the Cuban Revolution in the 1890s. Basically you cut the length of the territory into multiple chunks, blocked by armed checkpoints, to prevent freedom of movement for insurgents and cut off the organization's ability to siphon support from the local population.
But the Israelis will run into the same problem as the Spanish did: it takes an awful toll on the local population. Less freedom of movement means less commerce, less ability for aid to get through, makes it harder for people to see their friends and family locked in other districts. Now I have no doubt that the Israelis will be better funded than the Spanish were, and likely won't engage in as much brutal conduct as General Weyler did, but they might want to take note that when states engage in "reconcentration" policies, it seldom ends well.
You forget to mention the USA, this time is not backing the insurgents but the colonisers. That has played wonders for Israel for years and it will continue to do so.
The conduct that Israelis have already engaged in is worse than anything done by the colonial powers.
Well the economic hardship that will result will not affect Israel at all.
Contrary to your example of Cuba, Gaza is not a colony.

@@hamaidmk skill issue
This is basically the Israeli government trying to split the difference between their occupation of Gaza from before 2005, and "disengagement" from 2005 to present. They know occupying Gaza in its entirety is too costly, but its now political suicide for the Israeli government to allow Hamas to come back, so they need to convince voters they've done something. Gaza will essentially suffer the same fate as the West Bank, but probably without settlements.
I would say they can't do this long term, because it makes a permanent peace essentially impossible. The Palestinian government ruling a rump state occupied by Israeli troops means there is no chance for the two sides to develop separately and animosity be forgotten. Hwoever the Israeli military occupied Gaza for decades before 2005. The Arab world also cares less and less about the conflict, as they see Islamists as a greater threat compared to the benefits of scapegoating the Israelis for internal problems.
Israel left Gaza alone for 17 years and they got rockets for 17 years. There’s no other choice from a Statist perspective.
Sums it up pretty well. Politically speaking, Gaza is the more troublesome prospect for peace between the two Palestinian territories due to the fact that it, arguably, had a real tangible chance at autonomous government. A chance that ended with rockets and war. Of course there are no saints in this conflict. Israel had an initial hand in Hamas' rise to power, but many see Gaza as responsible for their own actions (complicated i know given the amount of foreign powers involved and the internal dictatorship).
In contrast, while not simple in the slightest, the west bank has been peacful-ish in recent memory. With pre-existing plans for its own autonomy. Plans that were left by the wayside during Netanyahus goverment but it would still be a less painful pill to swallow compared to Gaza. There is absutolutly no chance that israel would allow an autonomous Gaza given the absolute fiasco and devastation of the last two decades of Gazan independence. Say what you will about israeli interference in Gaza up till now, it was still an attempt to stay outside apart from military interests (stopping weapons transports).
@@BlueSpawn maybe isreal goverment shouldn't have made there life hell in blocked?
@@takeserious2641 The problem is a sort of chicken and egg. Israel fear attacks from Hamas and has a blockade, blockade gives Hamas new recruits, Hamas launches attacks, Israel retaliates and tightens sanctions.
Part of the issue here is that Hamas isn't acting in the interest of the population of Gaza, because they know attacks won't lift the blockade. They're acting in the interest of Iran, which is the only way their strategy makes sense, it's otherwise too self destructive.

Thank you for helping us understand why these people are the "chosen ones" during ww2, everything makes perfect sense now.
They literally installed former Nazis as technocrats and completely failed at denazification. There was no success in the program, because obviously, the only way to redevelop the country was to get the people who actually live there to participate in its redevelopment.

Israel has learned that there won't be any real truce or ceasefire as long as hamas remains. So it is natural that they will want to ensure that history doesn't repeat.
As an Israeli I'm against presented corridors (and against the occupation).
In 2005, Israel withdraw from the entire Gaza strip, leaving the territory for the palestinine people. What happens then? Hamas a brutal terror organization was elected, and Israelis suffer from daily rocket and missiles fired on them. and then October 7 massacred happens killing more than thousand of insistent Israelis.
I ask you, what does Israel can do to protect herself from ongoing daily missiles fired from Gaza strip, covering more than 2/3 of Israel territory. How can Israel can protect herself from those trying to eliminate her?
You're right, what is Israel supposed to do? Naive/spiteful minds will tell you to make more and more unilateral concessions, more self-restraint. But the other side has shown that they will likely only use that as an opportunity for more and bigger attacks. What will they expect you to do then?
Israel needs to recognize the Palestinian state with full sovreignity and I guess there will be no more rockets fired from Gaza or any other front ;)

Why'd Hamas attack Israel? 💀
you are totally clueless, aren't you? you're right exactly where they want/need citizens of western countries to be. this war is religious 1000%. the land of palestine is supposed to be open for all of the 3 abrahamic religions, this is why it was bouncing between the 3 for the past 3000, give or take, the jews think they're promised almost all of the arab peninsula. the muslims know how important this land is for the end of times, mecca is the holiest of places for muslims but it isn't the only, the mosque and the dome are too. i don't know about the christians, in my pov, they're really lost. now, we can that jews have more or less 2 main factions the zi*oni*sts and the hardcore. the hardcore factions believes its not the right time to make their 'right of land' for their people, they're waiting on their savior/leader aka the antichrist in the muslim religion. and ghe first faction is using a mix of religion and economical influence and everything you can imagine to make their vision come true. now on the other hands muslims are defending not just for palestinian citizens right but for all of the muslims in a way, that's why all of the islamic nations stand behibd them, at least the people, governments have no say in this as no gov dares go against the giants rule. this answer is already long enough, it might not provide a clear answer but it does provide more context and clarity

@@pebblepod30they had no airport, no harbour no way in or out... So they never had independence

They did have much more independence, with all Jews removed from Gaza, but they - as I understand- kept using it to be a security risk.
An airport is not what makes independence.
They elected their own Govt (Hamas), and kept using their resources for attacking Israel.
Can you imagine how things would have gone if Hamas would have given up on attacking Israel, stopped rocket attacks and used their resources for peaceful means?
Idk if Netanyahu's strategy is going to be the best for eventually forcing peace (I suspect not, and I suspect he really wants Greater Israel, not peace), but it is still true that the underdog (Hamas & their supporters) are not the good guys.
It would be the biggest and most horrible irony ever if descendants to a people which suffered immense atrocities in concentration camps during WWII, would end up running even larger ones in present day.

Good video, what you're missing is that this is all the same as it USED TO BE before Israel left Gaza, in essence. There was this plan called "the five-finger print" which is how peace was kept (relatively speaking) between 1967-2005 inside Gaza.

None of these policies will lead to a long term peace. These people need to integrate and have grand children together. Loke the confederates and Yankees now share great grand children as an integrated union. That is the only path to peace. The rest of these policies I cannot support. Xenophobia will never lead to peace.
I guess you missed the fact that Zionazism is an ideology based on race supremacy and lebensraum. "The master race" will never mix with the "untermensch". The only solution they want is the final solution.
America had a mostly similar English speaking culture with the same fundamental values. But you cannot mix Muslims with Jews, as the core of Islam mandates the complete destruction of all Jews. In Judaism, there is nothing to accept other nations and they don't convert. The West is ignorant that is is complete unable to see this as a perpetual religious (Jihad) war/struggle.
There is absolutely no possibility for diplomatic peace. In the East, "Western values" like diplomacy, kindness, compassion are viewed as major weaknesses. Eastern leaders cannot allow themselves to be seen weak by their own people.
There will be never peace from the Arab side until they murder all Jews. Then they turn against each other and then strive for world domination (the Caliphate).
And the West is still baffled and believes in "discussion". Until you can dismantle religion, do not expect any constructive progress unfortunately.
People who cry for "the Jews illegally occupy the land" then provide and alternative: where do you want to transport ~10 million Israelis? Also why not a single Arab nation helped with the "poor" Palestinians?
Nothing is black and white, but insanely complicated on several layers.
I don't expect anything than temporary "quiet" rather than peace in the next 2000 years in the region.
Unfortunately, Israel and its surrounding arab states have been at conflict ever since the day Israel even gained independence from the British. Even before that the hostilities existed. Local arab leaders dehumanizing jews because they started migrating to the region from Europe during the Holocaust. The animosity is generational and it may never go away in our lifetimes.
Wisest commont here. Only true integration, becoming one with the other, heals these wounds. MLK Jr. understood that.
Israel has never known peace. They just want to survive.

Sorry, the settlements that Israel put in Gaza were not illegal. Just because the anti-Semites in the world labeled it that doesn’t mean it’s true. Israel won the territory of Gaza from a defensive war. It was disputed territories. And if it was smart, they would annex the Gaza.
The people of Gazza could leave. The unfortunate problem is none of the arabs wants them. Isn’t is a shame they own people don’t want them.

See I have totally the opposite values here. I think the priority should be whatever solution enforces peace in a practical way, namely, preventing attacks on Israel- which Hamas etc are realistically going to do no matter what Israel does, if they are able to.
Where your highest value seems to be an idealism that has no respect for any practical considerations involved in peace in Gaza. Obviously, there is nothing Israel can realistically or reasonably do that stops the attempt to attack it from Militants, other than suicide or mass exodus to please those that hate them (not going to happen in the real world).
And I'm talking about the " force Gaza peace goal & strategy" - the topic of the video- not the rest of Netanyahu's strategy.
@@pebblepod30 I see so your solution to peace is to keep Israel happy while they:
A. Occupied the land and exiled the natives at inception.
B. Continue to expand settlements illegal even under today’s international laws.
C. Continue to subjugate Palestinians to apartheid.
D. Refuse to give the Palestinians a fair state and allow the refugees back.
E. Carry out group punishment when certain groups naturally resist this injustice.
Yes, we have different values indeed.
@Cheeriot
No, I didn't day any of that did I?
You assumed everything, and all those points are about idealism (which both sides will never agree on anyway), rather than peace in practical, achievable terms.
I was only talking about what is practically necessary to get any peace or any kind, other than total conquest and genocide.
Why not just answer what I asked instead, or give an alternative PRACTICAL REAL WORLD solution for peace?
@Cheeriot
I bet you are not going to stop thinking in black and white terms, and just simply try to think about what I said in practical peace terms.
My experience that people who lement the horrors of war, don't peace either (and yes, Netanyahu might not either, but that's beside my point about practical, real world peace over idealism).
@@pebblepod30 What is practical? It means both sides agree to a compromise and feel they’ve been treated fairly right? Otherwise it’s not practical just forced down the throat of one side.
Israel already exists, no denying, but so do the Palestinians. And, until they’re given a practical solution, they will always despise them, and naturally support groups like Hamas who will get them a shred of their dignity back when the opportunity arises.
I told you what the practical solution is but you refuse to listen and gaslight me instead. Treat the Palestinians like human beings, and don’t let Israel’s money and influence dictate the reality on the ground because it won’t bring peace. Ever.
How is Egypt making a “valid point”considering the context of Israel fighting a defensive war on the Philadelphia corridor? Like how is securing that border not beneficial for Egypt? As their border is compromised if Hamas controls it? Make that make sense?

This is fasinating how high-quality and well put the video is, and all the facts are correct.
But one thing just bothers me. Not a single mention of 7th of october. But many times bringing up presumed plans for new Israeli settlements (acknowledging that it is the hardliners who seriously suggest that).
I was a fan of the channel for long time (since the microphone was not that good) and it always impressed me for almost unbiased report painting a clear picture without any blindspots at least. But for some reason when it comes to the largest terrorist atack since 9/11 it is called "current hostilities" like I'm watching Russia Today and not one of my favorite channels the CaspianReport. When put like that, still professionaly and highly factual, but without the key reason why Israel is doing what it's doing currently, it paints the picure like Israel has just started all of this just for the sake of settlements.
Israel doing all of to make impossible the events that at 7th of October happen again. How it is doing it is a totaly legitimate point and we must debate that.
I believe that nothing stops a bullet like a job and that Israel must invest in Gaza bacause it is in it's own interest and because for many years noone showed any intention to do it for them. And before 7th of October it kind of was the case, Israel suplied Gaza with water, electricity and money practicly free of charge and with no string attached. Now Israel will be a lot more reluctant.
