    When you drive a brodozer like this, there is a rule that you must drive with your blue-bulbed high beams and LED bar on at all times, even if there are cars coming at you or if you're in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Everyone needs to see how bright your lights are and know that you didn't adjust them for the lift.

    Most who have never own a 6.4 have no clue what there talking about . Why was the 7.3 so reliable but you couldn’t get horsepower out of it? Because Diesel‘s were built for pulling power more torque and not horsepower. When you start to add power to a stock diesel truck and you’re not replacing the things that need to be replaced to handle that kind of power then you are going to have a lot of problems. If you put the Emissions that’s on a 6.4 onto a 7.3 , that engine wouldn’t be very popular. My 2008 6.4 is more reliable has more torque and more horsepower then a 7.3 guaranteed. With some minor upgrades to a 6.4 that engine can last you close to 1,000,000 miles. 1. Stop going with other peoples opinions.
    2. Catch Can 3. Coolant filter . These two filtration systems will save your engine. Six point fours or great engines the only reason why you don’t find a lot of them , because the owner hold on to them. Little shoe young people don’t know shit about diesel trucks you just want horsepower. Find an older 1980s international eagle with the Cummings 400 in it you could push 1000 hp with that engine, also the silver 92 V8 they said was the worst agent but you could run that engine for 1,000,000 miles use all the oil you want and it would still last. You don’t need any more horsepower out of a diesel engine if you’re using it for pulling. If you’re using it for racing you’re going to spend a lot of money

    Bodystyle wise, its my favorite of the newer Super Duty trucks. Just simple and blocky like a truck should be. It’s brutish. Engine wise, I’ve never seen an engine fail like the 6.4. While the 6.0 would fail and be fixable, the 6.4 had the uncanny ability to grenade itself in such a spectacular fashion that nothing would be able to be reused. My dads 08 F-250 looked awesome, rode great, and the interior was very nice. But at 32k miles it had spun every bearing in the motor due to fuel contamination, a result of the emissions system. Then after it was rebuilt it threw a rod out the side of the motor. Traded it in and he got one of the very early build date 6.7s and was one of the best trucks he’s ever owned.

      Yeah I love these trucks in terms of the look. But the 6.4 was junk. Those 5.4 3 Valve engines don't have the best reputation either. The only one of these I would get would be one with the 6.8 V10. Decently reliable, and strong motor. Just bad on gas

    The engine is really good if you do the research on them. But the people who speak the loudest against them are just that, loud. But I don't recommend them for everyone mainly because it keeps market value downs.

    I drove a 6 speed manual one with an h and s tuner set to the highest tune, which I believe added 200 horsepower. Spun second gear, I believe technically third if you count low, and it was just crazy fast. Unfortunately it just isn’t a good motor.

    Always liked the look of this gen for some reason. The 7.3s were great but not alot of power. 6.0s were a bit troublesome and the 6.4s, but yhe new 6.7s seems to be pretty good.. definitely would love to see one🤧

    Boy did they fuck up using Navistar. The 444 is great but the VT365 which I'm sure is short for very terrible 365 days of the year and this 6.4 are just absolute dogshit. Doesn't seem like the 6.7 are holding out but definitely an improvement.

    • @jacobclark3948
      @jacobclark3948 2 года назад

      If you talk to truck mechanics they love the VT365, and the Maxxforce 7 (international version of the 6.4) was pretty stout. Ford cheaped out trying to push more power than they were designed to run without proper modifications. And in the case of the 6.4 Ford put different rocker arms and pistons in which caused some issues.

    • @williamfurlan9176
      @williamfurlan9176 2 года назад

      @@jacobclark3948 we love them for repeat business. They have some of the worst fatal flaws of any engine. The fact they run a high pressure oil system to fire injectors and then have a oil system that runs itself out of oil before going back to the crankcase should be a study in engineering failures.

      Tunes jack up the timing and increase cylinder pressure. Higher pressure along with heat crack pistons quickly

    I follow a 6.4 and a 6.7 page on Facebook. I see way more posts about problems with the 6.7 than the 6.4. Mostly metal in the oil pan and filter. At least the 6.4 was actually built in America. Ford now produces their engines in Mexico.
