He could start out as another antagonist for the story, constantly halting Taven on his mission by fighting him, perhaps even having a clan of worshippers that he sends to slow down Taven so that he could get ahead of him. Meanwhile for Daegon, he could be trying to sabotage Daegon’s projects by sending spies to infiltrate the Red Dragon base in order to gain important intel, along with even starting clan wars with Daegon’s clan along with his own, to which Taven could get in the middle of, having to fight minions and warriors from both sides as a test of endurance. Maybe as the story progresses, when Taven starts to realize all the fallacies and strife this mission has caused him and his family l, he finds out about Rain’s connection to his dad Argus and starts to empathize with Rain. This could also cause Rain to soften up with Taven, now thinking that Taven is actually not that bad, thus they’d both form a sort of well-acquainted partnership with each other. Maybe before Taven reaches the top of the pyramid of Argus, Rain and his clan could have been fighting Daegon in order to allow Taven to fight Blaze, but once Taven does reach the top, the scene would show many of Rain’s clansmen lying on the ground dead, while Rain would be seen being lifted up by Daegon, getting choked as he’d draw his last breathe in an attempt to distract Daegon so that Taven can get there first. Although this may seem like a waste, I could see this being a way to show Rain’s progression from being a spiteful arrogant person to becoming a more humble and noble warrior, along with allowing the fight with Taven and Daegon to start before the boss fight with Blaze.

On the other hand, I'm convinced he is lost in power and mommy issues and there is a way to turn a man like that BUT.... Youd have to like, get on his street side and not on his pompous royal side.

He looses purpose for a while but finds a new reason to seek the throne Meanwhile melina (someone who he had allied himself with before starting his journey) is having issues of her own trying to find a purpose in her life, but because she fails to find value in her life outside of replacing kitana, and being used and betrayed by others. She fails to find peace and becomes suspicious of everyone and dying in the process I believe it'll make a good story of two people who were hidden from the world while being used for their power and how they end up in a completely different way due to the company they had along their journey
@@gim95697 Mhm, it would be cool to see him go from a secondary villain to a hero and a partner of Taven, as I’d think it would could work with Rain, especially with how it could be made easy to sympathize with him due to his past as the bastard son of the prime guardian god of Edenia. He really would be a huge asset to the Forces of Light since he’s a literal demigod, so he should be around at least Taven and Daegon’s level in terms of power, especially with his hydromancy. Although personally, I feel like he’d probably end up being a neutral force like Taven, not choosing a side but instead working with Taven to acquire Blaze’s power. And yeah, he probably would be dwelling in his thirst for power and sorrow for his mother’s murder. Perhaps once Taven learns of this, he could promise him that if he defeats Blaze and gain his power, he’ll put Rain in a high position of authority in Edenia along with even righting the wrongs his father committed on him by bringing his mother back from the dead. This could intrigue Rain’s interest and become more compliant to Taven as no one has ever made an offer to him like that before, or at least any that a compromiser would actually keep their word to, which could lay the foundation for the both of them to become partners.
This shows more and more how mk 9 and x for all it's flaws was a more loose game and less constricting than mk 11. Hopefully mk 12 learns from mk 9 and x and the only thing they take from mk 11 is the tower system , krypt, graphics , and plz dear Lord Christ nrs get a filter system for online . To be fair, the midway era didn’t have pretty much any dlc characters outside of Mk Vs Dc. Not hard to beat that. Plus Rain, as far as I remember, has never been a particularly pivotal character in any stories. I’d love a correction if he has though. Would love to learn about anything cool like that.
Rain in MK11 is the stylish character in MK11 but I feel MK11 was bad because the creativity was a crap. It felt like everyone did the same thing over and over again even if you did change up your style of play

Misery Blade also takes up 2 slots but Spawn has 3 different stances he can cancel that all take up exactly 1 slot. No one can convince me they didn't intentionally shaft Scorpion in this game

@@reda7779 Sindel’s weapon was in the 3D era, Sub Zero has had axes for a few games now, and Scorpion literally had an entire variation in the past dedicated to his swords. A few of these questions are easily answered by playing past games
I love playing him in 11 cuz I found my own modern D2 uppercut combo and it has wave dash cancels implemented but it still doesn’t break 40% and I have 60% combos with most of the characters I play cuz I master everyone I play so that shows that Rains damage is in fact terrible
Not sure if rain is that bad in mk 11.. sure his dmg is kinda low but you can get 30 % + in his most used variation ( hydro boost, geysar palm and tidal wave).. but his movement im sure its the best in the game.. I would say he lacks range on his mids ..but if you master his movement(wave dash) , your strike/throw mind games can be rly deadly and annoying ..but then again you have to work harder on this char than most other.
actually, Rain can do some good stuff with hydro boost in corner. Meterless 23%-30% or 36%-38% with one bar. And even more if you spent 2 bars. I wish he could launch normally in the corner with his quantum slice and tidal wave as e.g. Liu Kang and Noob Saibot are doing this pretty well with their specials (Low Fireball, Shadow Slide)

She is easily my favorite female character of all gaming history and she is my main ever since Soul Calibur 2. I was extremely disappointed when she was no where to be seen in SC5, not even her fighting style could be used in creation mode, so i simply skip SC5 altogether xD.

I just hope rain can play more like his mk9 self cuz even though he has some very cool graphics and new specials introduce in mk11, his most iconic moves can’t even be used simultaneously. His purple Lightning is too iconic to not be automatically a part of his kit that is disappointing, and changing it up to become a set up tool that lacks execution because it starts slow and it’s mostly viable only from a far distance was an honest downgrade in my opinion. His water bubble is cool still but the fact that we can’t equip that and his Lightning together just takes away the classical aspect of rain and wish to see that make a comeback, for mk12 rain should have his water bubble, lightning, and roundhouse kick be a part of his original move list by default.
Mk9 and X we're so busted! I'd never bother playing them competitively, but man is the casual play fun. Tbh I just love 11's graphics, roster, and balance
The problem with competitive is the players think spamming is space control and if you cant get out of a loop they do over and over you just lose. They don't attempt to actually fight competitively they just choose the best base kit with the lowest possible frame data and go to town on you in a corner. FGC fighters are super frame specific so they're usually never fun to fight against because you have to psyche them out 99% of the time so it just becomes a poke fest until you get a real good opening.
Agreed. MK11 has the best: Graphics; Balance; X ray design (made actually viable at high level and changed into Krushing Blows/Fatal Blows respectively); Story. The original ending is the best thing there could be. Hopefully MK1 surpasses it, but so far, MK9 and MK11 are just amazing story-wise.
MK11 Rain is really fucking annoying to play against in MK Mobile. His basic counter attack where he soaks you is infuriating, particularly when it’s only supposed to be a 10% chance but the AI performs it at what feels like 75%.

Rain in Mk9 was different. Mk11 rain sucks. Can’t use his lighting and bubble. His lightning is more for setups but it doesn’t work that well considering the push back it has if they block which means no grabbing them, and he has no real mixups to stop them from blocking it. And the startup is horrible so you have to use it when they are knocked down. And that’s as far as it goes. And his bubble is so slow so you’ll get outzoned. And he only has 1 consistent string that you can use and it’s his 212 string. The range on it is terrible and it’s all mid attacks. His 122 is almost useless, you can d1,d2 out of it. So it’s punishable. And his 242 string is so punishable if they block. So you never use that. And all his strings are just mid. So they can block and it’s insanely hard to open someone up. His most iconic moves are the moves barley anyone uses cause it stands no chance against decent tier characters
I don't think that rain's story is special how about this he was one of Raiden student who mastered the art of Raiden's fighting style and learned to use it against people but after seeing Raiden make stupid decisions he left his loyalty to earth realm but in mkx he realized what Raiden did to liu kang and beat the crap out of Raiden but Raiden seeing visions of rain as liu kang decided to get his ass kicked intentionally but after a talk with fujin he returns in mortal kombat 11 and eager to fight for the defense of earth realm to protect it against any foolish gods like Raiden
You need to keep in mind that what loses in damage he makes up some of with being safe on pretty much everything he does. Hard to punish him most of the time

I'm gonna say something that might be taken in bad taste by people on both sides of the netherrealm vs midway debacle. I don't think that NRS is really interested in making Mortal Kombat stories. I believe they want to tell stories but are limited by the premence of MK itself. If you look back on things a good bit of their character changes and ideas could work in more original projects but they are forcing it into a franchise that it just does not work well in. They are trying to make the characters they work into a storyline that they want but it just ends up a mess because they have to balance their unique ideas with characters that have pre established lore and motivations. It clashes to the point that it became MK11 and needed another reboot that was handled poorly by the writers and the fans. I am not an NRS hater. Despite some flaws I do think they make pretty good games that are just held back by some minor gameplay aspects and then trying to mold characters into what they need for their stories without stopping to think about if it makes sense or if maybe their stories are too loosely connected to be cohesive. If they took a second, stepped back and admitted to themselves that their games have some flaws and worked hard to properly balance it out, people would like the games way better. The issues come when they dig their heels in and either never acknowledge their wrongs or just entirely change up the next game on their list hoping it makes no one remember their earlier shortcomings.

I believe he could . Although he’s quite slow and to get that type of damage you’ll probably need to set up totems and use the enhanced grab move that gives a damage buff .
But even back than nonody played rain in tournaments haha its not all about the damage. If u have a Garbage fighter with rediculous damage (mmmh...shao kahn in mk11?) ,nobody will Pick him up
The multiple variations for all the characters spoils the fun and simplicity of Mortal Kombat since MKX an upwards. It was much better before when the characters were simple and straight forward. Now each character have multiple variations and each variation has a complete different set of moves/combos.....it's just too much....simplicity is the key man!

Nah, Rain damage is not the biggest in mk history. Old mk bosses killed you in 3 hits and the fights were done like in 5 seconds.

His water bubble is cool still but the fact that we can’t equip that and his Lightning together just takes away the classical aspect of rain and wish to see that make a comeback, for mk12 rain should have his water bubble, lightning, and roundhouse kick be a part of his original move list by default.

Mk9 and X we're so busted! I'd never bother playing them competitively, but man is the casual play fun. Tbh I just love 11's graphics, roster, and balance
The problem with competitive is the players think spamming is space control and if you cant get out of a loop they do over and over you just lose. They don't attempt to actually fight competitively they just choose the best base kit with the lowest possible frame data and go to town on you in a corner.
FGC fighters are super frame specific so they're usually never fun to fight against because you have to psyche them out 99% of the time so it just becomes a poke fest until you get a real good opening.

Graphics;
Balance;
X ray design (made actually viable at high level and changed into Krushing Blows/Fatal Blows respectively);
Story. The original ending is the best thing there could be. Hopefully MK1 surpasses it, but so far, MK9 and MK11 are just amazing story-wise.
I've played mk9 on release and mk10 casually and literally never knew meter was for anything else than x-ray...
MK11 Rain is really fucking annoying to play against in MK Mobile. His basic counter attack where he soaks you is infuriating, particularly when it’s only supposed to be a 10% chance but the AI performs it at what feels like 75%.

Rain in Mk9 was different. Mk11 rain sucks. Can’t use his lighting and bubble. His lightning is more for setups but it doesn’t work that well considering the push back it has if they block which means no grabbing them, and he has no real mixups to stop them from blocking it. And the startup is horrible so you have to use it when they are knocked down. And that’s as far as it goes. And his bubble is so slow so you’ll get outzoned. And he only has 1 consistent string that you can use and it’s his 212 string. The range on it is terrible and it’s all mid attacks. His 122 is almost useless, you can d1,d2 out of it. So it’s punishable. And his 242 string is so punishable if they block. So you never use that. And all his strings are just mid. So they can block and it’s insanely hard to open someone up. His most iconic moves are the moves barley anyone uses cause it stands no chance against decent tier characters

I don't think that rain's story is special how about this he was one of Raiden student who mastered the art of Raiden's fighting style and learned to use it against people but after seeing Raiden make stupid decisions he left his loyalty to earth realm but in mkx he realized what Raiden did to liu kang and beat the crap out of Raiden but Raiden seeing visions of rain as liu kang decided to get his ass kicked intentionally but after a talk with fujin he returns in mortal kombat 11 and eager to fight for the defense of earth realm to protect it against any foolish gods like Raiden
You need to keep in mind that what loses in damage he makes up some of with being safe on pretty much everything he does. Hard to punish him most of the time

I'm gonna say something that might be taken in bad taste by people on both sides of the netherrealm vs midway debacle. I don't think that NRS is really interested in making Mortal Kombat stories. I believe they want to tell stories but are limited by the premence of MK itself. If you look back on things a good bit of their character changes and ideas could work in more original projects but they are forcing it into a franchise that it just does not work well in. They are trying to make the characters they work into a storyline that they want but it just ends up a mess because they have to balance their unique ideas with characters that have pre established lore and motivations. It clashes to the point that it became MK11 and needed another reboot that was handled poorly by the writers and the fans.
I am not an NRS hater. Despite some flaws I do think they make pretty good games that are just held back by some minor gameplay aspects and then trying to mold characters into what they need for their stories without stopping to think about if it makes sense or if maybe their stories are too loosely connected to be cohesive. If they took a second, stepped back and admitted to themselves that their games have some flaws and worked hard to properly balance it out, people would like the games way better. The issues come when they dig their heels in and either never acknowledge their wrongs or just entirely change up the next game on their list hoping it makes no one remember their earlier shortcomings.

I believe he could . Although he’s quite slow and to get that type of damage you’ll probably need to set up totems and use the enhanced grab move that gives a damage buff .
But even back than nonody played rain in tournaments haha its not all about the damage. If u have a Garbage fighter with rediculous damage (mmmh...shao kahn in mk11?) ,nobody will Pick him up

The multiple variations for all the characters spoils the fun and simplicity of Mortal Kombat since MKX an upwards. It was much better before when the characters were simple and straight forward. Now each character have multiple variations and each variation has a complete different set of moves/combos.....it's just too much....simplicity is the key man!
