Youthanasia has always been my favorite record, and it tends to take a backseat to its older brother, CTE, and to other more popular albums like Peace Sells and RIP. I feel it is the most dark and lyrically mature album Dave ever produced, debatably more so than Peace Sells. Its themes that deal with addiction, overcoming life's obstacles, self-reflection, dealing with popularity and road life, youth, sexual crimes, and apocalyptic situations make for Dave's darkest lyrical content to this day. Then it all resolves with "Victory" as the closing track, bringing the whole record to a wonderful, hopeful conclusion for anyone actually listening. The instrumentation, while not as technically complex as previous records, should not be overlooked. Its sludgy, groove heavy rhythms, bass, and slower leads and tempos make for a very laid back atmosphere and just adds to the overall charm of the album and sets it apart from every other record with its uniqueness. The riffs are such ear candy that I cannot get them out of my head and groove with the rhythm every time I listen. Dave and Marty's dual leads are so much fun to listen to and Ellefson's bass and Nick's drums add so much more depth and chunkiness to each track. Still pretty happy every track on the album broke through the top 100.
I would argue they are not simpler at all just a little slower, listen to the rythm guitar under the solo in train of consequences. That shit is INSANE
Youth is great cryptic has good stuff I liked all their stuff other than risk it was mediocre at best. St anger is similar from Metallica it's not like any of their other work and most fans typically put them both last but they both still had some good moments because after all the same legendary dudes made em. I love both bands and most of their material and don't cut myself short of great music by cutting it off at a certain year or certain album or whatever. Youth is a wonderful album and I've always thought so. Just like the black album and CTE. I love the load albums but they should have put the best 15 songs on 1 album instead of releasing 2 loads with several filler songs. The good stuff from those albums are great just different. It's ok to be diverse. It's ok to not do thrash only for 40 years.
@@midnight347 I agree, and honestly I do not have any Megadeth, or Metallica albums for that matter, that I dislike, just some that are not my thing, necessarily. If I had to pick a least favorite, I'd say Super Collider, but I still gave it a shot after hearing how much people despise it and it usually being a contender for the worst Megadeth album and enjoy a decent amount of songs off the record. I actually enjoy Risk, aside from a few songs, and think both albums are too overhated. I have listened to every Megadeth and Metallica album, and as a fan I would not say I dislike any album and that they all have worth and something to offer. Both bands are extremely diverse and offer more than their "golden era" thrashy albums, aka their first four or five albums, if you actually give their other content a listen. Insane that so many Risk songs are insanely low. How is Time: The End basically the lowest song that is a song on an actual album that isn’t a bonus track
It’s kind of ironic how you forgot some: - Me Hate You - Last Dying Wish - Look Who’s Talking - A House Divided - Bullprick - Evil That’s Within - All I Want - Coming Home - Delivering The Goods - It’s Electric - Paranoid Of course: some of these are covers, but you included other covers (for example: Anarchy in the UK), so I thought it fit to mention them. Some of these (even though remixes) do possess their own tuning and vocals, different to that of their original songs, as such making them different (for example: Bullprick.)
sorry but I didn't include alternative versions of album tracks (as stated in the first few seconds of the video) which includes remixes, remasters, demos and early versions, also a couple of those songs I did include in the 2024 remake ruclips.net/video/cNq5VSD6qAQ/видео.html
As much as I'd love to see a Black Sabbath one, I think it'd be nearly impossible to do. Songs off Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Vol. 4 are sometimes combined, so you couldn't get definitive answers for some songs on those albums. Also, the entire albums of Headless Cross, Tyr, Cross Purposes and Forbidden aren't on spotify, as well as The End EP. :(

Mechanix being the most played song on KiMB was a surprise
Recipie For Hate... Warhose. What an underrated song. Same case as Captive Honour. And many Unites Abominations songs.
people are missing out on so many cool megadeth songs
I'm pleasantly surprised to see Tornado of Souls at 3. I have Sirius/XM and they don't play that one as often as stuff like Peace Sells, In My Darkest Hour or Foreclosure of a Dream
This means alot of people listen to it on Spotify and that is it. Don't read any more or less into it than that.
Didn’t expect truth be told to be that low
Damn I also didn’t expect 502 to be so low
diadems is way too underrated i wish more people acknowledged it and it would be nice if they played it live once
Only reason why I know Crush Em is because Goldberg used it in WCW for a little bit.
Dude, My Last Words is my favourite from Peace Sells
'I'll get even' being on 112th place really shocked me. I thought it was way more popular
shocked time the beginning is so low but it is under risk which most likely has to do why
So Far So Good So What is such an underrated album. My favorite songs are probably My Last Words, Wake Up Dead Last Rites/Love You To Death, Tornado of Souls, Back in the Day, and Liar.
You know that something's terribly wrong with people when Kick The Chair and Go To Hell are that low lol
The System Has Failed and United Abominations are seriously being slept on with this list.
Yeahhh!! Megadeth!!!
i love cute ginger man and friends!
This planets on fire from SDD was a great song
The only explanation I can think of for songs from Thirteen and Super Collider having more plays than United Abominations and The System Has Failed is that Spotify didn't exist or wasn't popular when these latter albums came out, because as far as I'm aware they're enjoyed by the fans a lot more than the former two.
This is why how many listens something has on Spotify isnt a good indicator as to how popular it is among the fan base. Take the listing with a grain of salt
I like almost of them😄TWNH and the System has failed seem to be criminally underrated.
Time: the beginning is such a good song, too bad it’s so low
I think that #104 vortex is the most underrated one here.
Insane that so many Risk songs are insanely low. How is Time: The End basically the lowest song that is a song on an actual album that isn’t a bonus track
hook in mouth is underrated.
The whole album is outside of in my darkest hour lol
@@midnight347 Hook in mouth and set the world afire are also good but ye, best one from this album is in my darkest hour.
Time the beginning is actually a cool song
"When" is sooooo underrated
It’s kind of ironic how you forgot some:
- Me Hate You
- Last Dying Wish
- Look Who’s Talking
- A House Divided
- Bullprick
- Evil That’s Within
- All I Want
- Coming Home
- Delivering The Goods
- It’s Electric
- Paranoid
Of course: some of these are covers, but you included other covers (for example: Anarchy in the UK), so I thought it fit to mention them.
@@imakevideosonyoutube some of these just aren’t alternative versions though.
great video very interesting
idk if youre doing any other genre but i do like ur vids and i want to see a one of david bowie and the neighbourhood

ruclips.net/video/U7w_FBCEl_Q/видео.html
both now done :D
ruclips.net/video/8dAMc7esHAY/видео.html
megadeth content-subscribed!
Feel so bad for "Risk", the most played song is only on the 92th place, I don't really like the album tho
please do Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne or Soundgarden next :)
@@NextViewX yeahhh pre-80s bands usually have incredibly inconsistent and messy discographies on Spotify, ive been trying to make a video for The Doors for a while now but its such a mess D:
heres Black Sabbath :p
ruclips.net/video/Z8tWbqUaqjg/видео.html
@@imakevideosonyoutube Awesome. Love it. B)
all 3 now done :D
ruclips.net/video/aX9GuQoyYjo/видео.html
Could you do Rush? 👊🏼
yes i can :p
ruclips.net/video/tXPFpnHzyiY/видео.html
I like Time: The End. Sad that no one listens to it.
Same here- Clearly the best song on Risk
I'm really surprised that the System has Failed stuff isn't more played. IMO that's their best after Countdown.
Idk Youthanasia almost every song it a banger or pretty underrated but I agree the System has Failed is incredibly underrated. Of Mice and Men, Something That You're Not, Tears in a Veil absolute gems
@@thrashmetalmatters4678 youth is def better. End game is great also and dystopia and the new album all those would give the system a run if not surpass it.
Great vids man!
Can you make "Every JAMIROQUAI song LEAST to MOST plays"
Let's go iron maiden next!
ruclips.net/video/cTOrCL03wiQ/видео.html here ya go
Very interesting. One could discuss this result for hours but the order largely makes sense. Interesting that the newer songs were able to climb that high. Efficient marketing and the band popularity rising again I believe
Popularity of streaming in general. The hype for new songs on streaming make them go up way easier. That's why the 2000s songs are so low even tho I believe some of them are way better than their new stuff
The only reason a tout le monde is played so much is because of alphabetical order in song title. I fucking hate it everytime I connect my phone and I try to play a song I was playing and I hear. “Don’t remember where I was.” Like my phone is mocking me every morning
Please do Rush. They are my favorite band and have the best drummer to ever play the kit.
aye aye captain ruclips.net/video/tXPFpnHzyiY/видео.html
Please do the same with Kansas. Huge band apart from Carry on wayward son or Dust in the wind.
Favorite from them has always been chasing shadows
Recipe for Hate is such a gem.
Can you please do Mötley Crüe?
Seven and time the beginning are criminally unpopular
6:56 best song
I had no idea they did out on the tiles I been a fan of zep and megadeth for my entire life and I'm pushing 40 lol.
United Abominations is underrated
Day 1 of asking for Oingo Boingo
I'll be there and Amerikhastan are the most underated Megadeth songs
vortex is so popular in my class
It was me I played losing my senses all 600,000 times
LETS GOOOOOO
on enter the arena he plays crush em' and he literally forgot a song
have you even heard Enter The Arena smartass?
I'm surprised 1,320' is so low. That song is badass.
DO VAN HALEN NEXT
dystopia has been played more than countdown?!
