I love these 'not overly edited' videos. This is real life! Reorganising and mess! Thank you ❤

You should try air layering the monstera! Then once it gets some nice roots, then you can make the chop!

I dont know exactly how i found your channel, but seeing tje title, i wanted to check it out.
Just want to say that you Rock the mom messy bun look ! lol
I was married for 14 years, and out of all the types and styles of messy buns one can do, the mom style messy buns are #1 !! Also my kiddoes are 15 & 14, and i miss their infant - toddler years with their musical bouncy chairs, walkers, etc, so its pretty awesome to hear the kid in the background!
    Last:
Its a bit rare to see, and its really cool to see girls just being human, and not worrying things.
    Love that Golden Barrel Cactus!
    Very Very Jealous Ma'am 😁

I dream of one day having the space for big plants like that! I am in a ~450sq ft apartment and I literally don't have the room for big plants. So I do a lot of chopping and giving away.

Hi. Re. Monstera Deliciosa. They abound in my country. You might find these tips helpful:
    1. If you want it to grow wild, you can chose not to stake it. It will crawl and be happy to do so, until it finds a tree or a wall to climb. But she will require lots of soil to crawl - I mean 12-24 feet. This is not feasible for a potted plant.
    2. If you want it to climb, visualize that mature monsteras climb trees with trunks of approx. 4 - 6 ft diameter. Your monstera has outgrown that feeble little stake a long time ago. That's why you've not been successful at training it to attach itself.
The best thing you can do for her, and you need to do it ASAP, is to get her a VERY wide plank 6 inches or more and attach it, if you can. It may be that she's been growing without proper support for a while and now the stems are too big and too thick to get them straight enough against the plank.
If that's the case, you're better off air layering and rooting a generous top portion, and after it's rooted, take a top cutting with at least 2 aerial roots that have turned into water roots, and start over with a GENEROUS plank. Think more along the lines of tree trunk, instead of branch. Make sure to give her LOTS of light.
If you choose to restart the plant, I urge you to do so from the top cutting. That way you'll retain the maturity of the plant. Maybe the next 2 leaves will revert, but with PLENTY of light, the 2nd or 3rd leaf will be as large or larger.
If you retain the root system, your plant will grow at the stage that portion of the stem was in its development. It is also likely that it will produce 2 stems, like a Raphidophora. In which case, they'll compete for resources and grow 1/2 as fast. So, I recommend you just propagate various 2 node cuttings of the bottom portion and gift or sell them once rooted.
Also. Monsteras only have 1 stem. If you have multiple stems, you have multiple plants. At that size, they are competing for resources in that pot. If you give each an individual pot and individual plank, you'll notice immense growth.
I noticed that you've attached it in some parts in the back of the stem, and sometimes in the front of the stem. I understand you're trying to get it to straighten. But if you want the plant to attach and feel secure, so it can grow, you need to place the stake on the back of the stem. Lee from @Kill This Plant has an excellent video that explains this.
    Hope this helps.

Canadian (NS-east coast) here… apologies about the cold 😭😭
it’s been cold here for a few weeks already and it’s awful 😭
yesterday was a bit more mild in the first part of the day, but it gets cold so quickly.
I’m over it already. I can’t stand the cold, and 2/3rds of the year is cold here 😢
On top of that, our entire summer was wet and overcast. We had hardly any truly sunny and hot days. It was the worst summer we’ve had in as long as I can remember.

I have family in Halifax & they said the same. Fires, then flooding. We actually visited 8/10-8/19 & got so lucky! It rained only one day. We even traveled up to inverness & saw the Perseids meteor shower & milky way bc the skies were clear 🤩🤩🙏🙏

You can slowly and carefully bend the bare stem of the monstera downward into the soil in a little circle with wire, like bonsai. I’ve done it with mine and my raphidophora decursiva

Why don’t you air layer that long bare stem, and then pot it up in soil while still connected to mother root system, until fully established and able to be separated from mother? Alternatively, I recently saw a video on another channel about partially cutting the stem between nodes to activate growth points on lower nodes (without cutting through stem entirely maybe 30% of the way)

I don't repot when I bring in my plants- I feel like they are shocked enough just coming back inside. I do use a hose and try to hose them off well. been doing it for years and never really had a problem with bugs coming in.
