I actually really appreciated this video, even though you don't like speaking negatively about plants. I think it's a very realistic video and a good change from the haul/shopping videos that I see so much on RUclips. I'd like to see more plant RUclipsrs getting real about the hobby.
It would be cool to see a video recommending alternatives to these plants eg. Don't buy a brandtianum - buy a siltepecana el Salvador. Don't buy a calathea white fusion - buy a picasso peace lily. Don't buy a curtisii - buy a hoya mathilde etc...
In my experience (having owned many varigated plants), varigated plants often revert when it's not getting enough sun or light. The green part of the leaves contain the chlorophyll that intake the sunlight. In response to the less than ideal amount of sun, the plant leaves will start to revert back to its full green leaves to intake more sunlight. Maybe try putting your varigated plants in more direct light and see if that makes a difference. Love the video btw!
I love this because it’s good to know we’re not alone in the struggle. Although I like the discolor & the crotatum (pink) I never bought. I can’t find most uncommon houseplants locally so Inhabe to go online & I think some plants look great in a photo but would just not survive in my care! This is from a calathea lover. I have lost so many and continue to replace to my husband’s disdain But it’s trial and error? Maybe talk about the struggle you had with a plant but brought it back. I feel there isn’t much content about bringing a plant back “from death” and how long that takes or even what starting over taught you. How to keep white fusion alive. Keep on pebble tray where it constant surrounded by 19:00 water, in a bathroom with a huge window where it gets all day indirect light. And spray once every 2 weeks with regardless. They super needy. 😊
The brandtianum…OH MY! I thought it was me. I have chopped two sets of three “tiny” cluster leaves already and I haven’t had it that long. We need more videos like this. I can relax now and not stress over this plant. Glad I found it in the big box store.
Thanks for your thoughts Ashley. That $90 Variegated Alocasia Macrorrhiza is STUNNING!! But I agree with you about passing up the opp to buy expensive plants knowing that they are finicky. Totally with you on the Brandti and the Burle Marx Variegated ( thankfully I was gifted both of them so didn't pay the big bucks) although I honestly believe it's because I haven't given them a pole to climb on. They are getting PLENTY of filtered light & humidity as Sydney is naturally quite humid atm AND I have a humidifier next to them. So as we are now moving ever closer to spring I will be transferring them to a moss pole and pray they take off. I'm really sorry about your Ph. Melano. I've steered clear of them, the Verro and the Splendid (in fact all the hybrids) purely because of the attention they need. Plus I don't have that much space in my house. Would really appreciate more videos like this one 🙏🏼 Your frankness is so refreshing and credible! Thank you 💚
The only success I’ve seen with Brandi’s are growing them on a moss pole, they apparently love to climb more than trail bc otherwise they just grow stupid tiny leaves. As for the curtisii it’s done much better since putting it under a glass humidity dome! In my recent experience, most Hoyas like more water and fertilizer than people expect.
I agree with this whole list (maybe except the Hoya- mine is thriving in East window hanging pot)and would add a P. Verrucosum and some anthuriums to the list.
When I was in Asia the Mickey Mouse tarp was everywhere and so cheap at the plant stores but I obviously couldn’t bring anything home cause of customs 😭😭
Thank you so much for your honest assessments of these plants. I love houseplants but don't like spending money for plants that are difficult. I went to Oakdale Greenhouse yesterday and chose a couple of Anthuriums as these seem to do well for me.
I loved this video. You are so sweet and honest. I’ve struggled with the Hoya curtsii to the point of putting it outside. It seems happier outside but still in North Carolina it is going to have to come inside eventually. I have a piper crocatum and it is sooo beautiful. Luckily I spent $25 for a decent size and it is such a thirsty plant. It also develops these crystal dots behind the leaves. Not sure what that is. I left it for 2 weeks without watering and it came back luckily!! Please make more videos like this! Reality of plant life 🌱🌱
Wow! That’s amazing! Once I figured out how to properly water the Hoya curtsii and the right spot in my home, the plant started growing tremendously. The piper is another story. I had one die after overwatering it. I bought a smaller one and put it in a grow tent. It seems to really like moderate water and high humidity. It’s so funny how one person’s trouble can be another person’s treasure!
I’ve found in my experience that Alocasia do really well in self watering pots with pon in particular or even a very airy mix with coco chips and pumice and charcoal 🪴💚
I have also found that they just thrive extremely root bound lol I had got two mystery rare corm boxes off Etsy and months later after being in stratum I've potted them in my chunky mix and they're all root bound and thriving. They did amazing root bound in the stratum also and pon and dirt lol I tried each. But being root bound was the trick it seems.
I agree with ALOT of these. Not all philos are easy! Appreciate the honesty because everyone has that plant that is their nemesis! Pepperomia is mine. Love them, but I bring one home and it almost instantly turns black and dies.
I had problems with the Brandtianum at first too, the leaves shrank in size veeeery quickly. What I did was I changed the soil, it's very airy with about 1/4 of both orchid bark and perlite, cut back the shoots I think two times to stimulate growth and put it right inside the window, and suddenly it grows like crazy, producing beautiful big leaves. Worked out for me, if you have room in a sun facing window you should try, can't hurt if so far it went downhill;)
I’ve been wanting to get a Brandi but I’m not sure I can provide the environment it needs. I live in Santiago, Chile and we’re nearing spring so the humidity will be around 50% and probably get lower as summer comes closer and I don’t have a greenhouse cabinet or humidifier so I don’t think it’ll be a good idea 😔
I got a reverted burle Marx philodendron for $3 and I don't quite care if it ever gets any variegation, but there's a slight chance as the stems have a lot of it, so I might prop it when it's older and see. Def not worth the high tag but a beautiful plant even reverted.
Curtisii is a really weird Hoya. I used to put a lot of attention on him since I heard they are tricky. He did not do well! Now, I just totally neglect him except give him water when he’s dry. Guess what, he’s growing like weeds. I don’t what happened and what did I do or not do to him… whatever 😒
My Alocasia thrive on abuse! If I try to baby them and keep them in the house they don't do well. If I throw them outside to fend for themselves they seem to thrive lol!
Hoya Curtissii loves North window! It does not dry or burn the stems and always produces leaves.....my firstvone died in South window...I gave it a 2nd go and loves the north window!
Thanks for being so open regarding the struggles of some plants. We love them and will likely have them even though they will break our hearts! LOL But I appreciate hearing about the challenges - it's helpful hearing how real the struggle can be. I have a Calathea White Fusion and once I accidently watered it with tap water and it FREAKED OUT. It dropped all its leaves but two. It's been slow to recover but it's finally, finally looking fuller again.
I have a Hoya Curtisii that sits just below my kitchen window. I've had it for several years and it is lush and healthy I am happy to say. It apparently loves the kitchen. However, it has taken years for it to bloom and it finally did several months ago and has continued to bloom off and on. But the blooms are weird on this particular plant. They are very small and not so great looking. They also kind of smell funny to the point to where my family has asked what stinks in the kitchen. I end up just snipping them off. Maybe it is not this way with other Hoya Curtisii plants, but it seems to be with mine...
My melano is a hot mess too. So so fussy. My VBM is good though, I got a cutting of one where the stem was like candy cane striped so the variegation is present in each leaf.
Super informative video as well these are great to get the honest opinions about plants that may be on a lot of people’s wishlist and aren’t aware of the challenges!
Cissus discolor will go dormant inside over winter. early spring when watering is resumed and the days get warm and longer it rebounds incredibly. I have 2 and every winter it is mostly dead by April. By fall when it comes inside it is huge.
I'm an underwaterer so I have to use a substrate that is more water retentive then what is commonly recommended. Usually 50% coco coir and then a mix of chunky amendments. I also keep Calathea and other thirsty plants in a shallow tray of water. I know common knowledge recommends NOT keeping plant's "feet" wet but it is a lifesaver for me.
Melano struggled even on a moss pole. I propagated it and the 3 big pieces, they are doing better (rerooting in tree fern gave me thicker, healthier roots). Splendid has none of the problems with leaf rotting or ripping , it can grow decent with just a stick and is overall very forgiving. Can recomment it to everyone. Pieper Sylvaticum is growing great, as long as i don't delay watering ! In an aroid mix i have to water twice a week or it starts looking like trash. Self watering pots with pon or stratum work for me a lot better. This and the Colocasia Pharaoh Mask are the thirstiest plants i have ever seen ! Philodendron Lupinum, another problem. i tried everything, aroid mix, self watering, moss pole, high humidity...nothing worked. I have one left and if it doesn''t get its act together, it will go in the trash. Calatheas are doing well for a while but then they start looking bad. I found that Maranthas are a lot easier because of their growth pattern, whenever one is looking not so great is so easy to take a few cutting and start over . They root super fast and they seem to be doing good in soil and in semi hydro. Whenever a plant struggles i found a system that works for me almost every time. Propagate, put it in a bin or greenhouse cabinet until it has a few leaves and then i move some to self watering and some to aroid mix. After 2 weeks or so i move them to room humidity and hope for the best. I find that the babies i grow from a small size are better adapted to my conditions and are doing a lot better compared to the big plants i buy from a store. I was able to save quite a lot of plants this way, the only problem i have is that too many survive and i am struggling with space and time🤣
I feel like we are living in the exact same plant world!!! I have 500 plants and all the ones you mentioned are the same ones I now have on my DoNotBuy list! Thank you for validating my feelings 😆
Thanks for sharing, have you ever grown Jade 'money'' plants and Epiphyllum's? I have some of these I'm growing in my videos usually near the end of. Happy growing :)
Fascinating! You keep buying them though! I don't buy expensive plants that are difficult to keep because I don't like relatively inexpensive ones that are difficult. I will sometimes try them again, sometime to learn or prove I can grow it, however a very expensive one I would not try!
Where do the spider mites keep coming from? I would think the systemic would keep them away? It’s my first winter with a million (just a slight exaggeration) plants, started with just a few in July.
I guess I’m just lucky where my curtisii is concerned. I damn near managed to kill it before putting it in terra cotta and in a south facing window. Right now it’s literally growing like a damn weed lol.
The variegation on my Burle Marx is much more yellow with the dark green. I keep it in a almost full south window with lace curtain at the window to help gently shade the scorching sun. My problem with it is sometimes the leaves come out all yellow. Funny I was just looking at mine and you started talking about it. I was thinking WHAT??? Let me have some of that wine. Too spooky. I also have the all green and I ended up planting them together to save space. My variegated bit was a gifted cutting from a friend. Just two leaves.
I’ve had a Hoya australis, wayetii, & compacta variegated; I’ve killed all three. I can’t wrap my head around what they want so I’m just accepting that Hoyas hate me lol.
Hi Ashley, Many thanks for this informative video! I have owned a few of the plants you mentioned and my experiences were identical to yours. Since plants are a love and a hobby of mine I tend to steer away from some of the more fussy ones although I have on some occasions brought home a plant simply because I couldn’t resist its beauty. 🥰. My mind knows better but my heart overrides my better judgment! 😵💫. I have had my Curtisii for three years and she has not grown much so I just love her for being her petite pretty self. The larger baskets of this plant are so gorgeous ! Take care and.happy growing. 👌🪴🥰
if the variagation goes away instantly it's because it reverting already. the unstable variagation is what most Philodendron get. HAVE TO choose the plant and look. it's all a risk. I got my variagated BM for 10 bucks. I know this was a while ago, but.
Yup the philodendron Brandi I buy knowing I won’t have it for long. It’s stupid hard to get it to grow right. 😩 I just have it to see it as it slowly dies or the leafs get smaller and smaller. It’s so beautiful though so I just wait until I can get it for $14 at my local Home Depot.
For me, anything variegated... they die on me. I'm not getting any other variegated with white. I have one right now that is barely holding on to the last leaf 🤥😵💫😫
You have an amazing collection up there and the knowledge to care for them! It looks just so hard to keep up with their care, if time is a scare resource. Thanks for sharing!
You mentioned a lot of plants that I also have struggled with. My Mickey Mouse plant is beautiful but outside as well as my calatheas white and yellow fusion, alocasia are also hard for me so I keep them out side. I live in North Florida zone 9b so we get some freezing temps in winter. Last year all plants made inside until spring! Keep ya head up! ❤
The brandtianum is a struggle for me as well. If it expired, I wouldn't replace it. There are other beautiful plants that aren't as hard to take care of.
i always struggle with spider mites and tries many pesticides, they always come back...out of desperation i spray hose/wash the back of each leaf and it works ..of course we have to do it periodically but the mites take quite sometime to appear but so far this is more effective ways to combat the mites, remember rain washes the leaf but it doesn't happen in our indoor plants . so we just copy the nature way
I feel like you would love beneficial bugs to take care of your pests. As an underwaterer, it's even more tedious to constantly treat with insecticides and oils. The bugs will deal with the issues for you.
So I grow the mandevilla here in panhandle of Florida but I can’t get them to overwinter outside in a pot guess I need to bring them in the garage. I think yours are on pots do they survive the winter outside in Houston. As for the passion vines did you grow them from seed or buy them at a nursery? I’d like to try the 2nd passion vine you showed which had the fruit but don’t think I’ve seen it in any nurseries here
Alocasias and Anthuriums really should be grown in pon semihydro in self watering pots its the only way I’ve seen anyone able to make them thrive indoors
Alocasias are my favorite plants! I’ve had a lot of great results with self watering pots. When I’m normal pots, they do fine however every alocasia I’ve put in a self watering pot has shot out pups, left me with tons of corms, and has grown so large so fast
I’m seeing this video late. Just wanted to let you know, systemic granules make spider mites more fertile so I would never use them anywhere near plants that are prone to spider mites.
I’m having the worst luck ever with a melanochrysum, and trying to get a Hoya latifolia and pubicalyx Hawaiian to root. I don’t get what I’m doing wrong! I put the cuttings in water, and they started to get roots, but then they stopped after I had to give them a sulfur treatment for flat mites. Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated!
I bought a brandtianum against my better judgement and it’s really heartbreaking. They’re so pretty when you see them in greenhouses and then they put out small, misshapen leaves. And I live in Florida so she’s getting better than average humidity and sun. I think it’s almost time for me to let her go.
For me, anterium is a struggle. I probably bought 10 of Quinn anterium that never survived. I always think that this time I will be able to manage it, but it's never survived.
I like the wine with the commentary! I have the opposite problem with my Philodendron burle marx variegated. It’s so variegated that it grows at a snail’s pace!
yeaaa white variegated plants are almost always a pain in the ass. beautiful to look at, but the variagation can be super unstable, the requirements vary alot compared to their regular counterparts and the white inevitably will yellow or brown. there are plants like the njoy pothos which is very easy to care for, but really those are exceptions
Love this video. I need the struggle bus videos too because it shows that not every plant is perfect and healthy for every plant owner. I recently got a full 6” pot of Hoya curtsii knowing that I will probably kill it. It was only $19.99 at Home Depot a couple months back and she is surprisingly still going strong. Fingers crossed!
My Piper crocatum is pretty happy in pon. It actually grew too long for my ikea cabinet and is now sitting on top of it at ambient humidity and happily growing. The one I tried in soil basically died immediately. My cissus discolor is struggling in self watering…maybe I should have done pon with it too
I agree with you on most of these plants, except for the h. Curtsii and Piper Crocatum 💜 ♥️ 💕 💖...love thus one ...done great this summer..might do poorly in Winter, tho...is that the problem???...i do live in a very cold region in Colorado in Winter...do very much appreciate your frankness and honesty on these plants...so many people have gone for that var. Alocasia...
Uuuugggh I bought melanochrysum when it was $200 for 3 leaves. Stayed for a year looking like that, never grew great, chopped and propped, and spider mites!!! Never again 😢
Ashley loved this video.Just a suggestion with the H.Curtisii....maybe you are watering it too often?I have 2 small ones(2")Cause they are soooo cute😅.I only water them like every 3 wks.And so far they are doing good. And the H.Var Hope i totally agree. They dont grow too fast.I have killed 2 of them😢
So for the burle Marx Var I recommend to chop it up. Look at the stem. Look for a variegated stem. Once it grows that one will have more variegation…. Mine is so crazy 😮😍😍 I’ve been selectively propagating and I have sooo much white now
😂😂😂 All the ones that you shared are super drama queens. Im so over them. Honestly, i think plants should be a nice, chill hobby. They are beautiful… but meh. The ones that make it, cool and others can just go on their way. Im just sticking to cactii now
This makes me feel better about my variegated Burle Marx 😅 I’m trying to propagate the variegated stem and it’s still putting out regular leaves. And my melanochysm that looks like sh*# 😂
I have all the plants you mentioned except the Mickey Mouse taro and the alocasia. Honey, you are on point, with these not worth every cent plants. Don’t get me started on that calathea wht/fusion and the cis/discolor. They need their own planet. Great video. Thank you for sharing 🙏👍🌺
I faced the same with my philodendron burle marx variegated and melanocrysum. They are very expensive in Bangladesh but it is hard to keep their beauty. I already tried twice with melanocrysum & purchased 2nd time the burle marx😅 let's see what happened 🙂
Ashley, I noticed your wearing a very very light make. up. Your real beauty came out very pretty stay that way. Your pretty. Oh yes Brantianum is a pain love it so much but what can I say. My curtisii is doing well great I just wonder it don’t give me flower.
So with the hoya compacta mine was about that size and wasn't growing... Everybody said they are slow growers..but I've been watering it more than I Used to and now it's trailing. All my "slow growing" hoyas just needed a bit more water in my environment and now they are thriving popping new leaves every other day

I love my curtisii. My recommendation is lots of light and neglect
Thankfully it's not an expensive plant

Mine is climbing up and still grows small leaves. It is not a satisfying plant to own. Every other plant of mine is flourishing except this one.
My Brandi is on a trellis and still has small leaves but I would say about the size of a post it note and I do think it’s a fast grower - so worth it.
Thanks for the tips!!
Hoya definitely appreciate more water than people think, and especially curtisii. I try to water mine once a week.
I agree with this whole list (maybe except the Hoya- mine is thriving in East window hanging pot)and would add a P. Verrucosum and some anthuriums to the list.
💚💚
I have to say it is a pleasant change seeing someone else have a few uncontrollable failures instead of thinking I am the only one! Try…try again 💚🌱
Definitely not just you!!
Good video, it helps others to realize that not everyone can grow everything, I know I can't.
I’m so glad!
All the spider mite magnets are not worth it
this is pretty much where I am at, done with pest magnets, i don't need problem children
I hate spider mites with a passion
When I was in Asia the Mickey Mouse tarp was everywhere and so cheap at the plant stores but I obviously couldn’t bring anything home cause of customs 😭😭
Wine.. and plants. I have found some gem.
Welcome!! 🪴😘❤️
Melonochrysom needs to be on a moss poll
Thank you so much for your honest assessments of these plants. I love houseplants but don't like spending money for plants that are difficult. I went to Oakdale Greenhouse yesterday and chose a couple of Anthuriums as these seem to do well for me.

Maybe try semi-hydroponics
It’s nice to know that some of us struggle with plants too. I’m having a difficult time with my purple passion, leaves keep drying out to a crisp.
Omg yes!!
My Alocasia thrive on abuse! If I try to baby them and keep them in the house they don't do well. If I throw them outside to fend for themselves they seem to thrive lol!

I love when you do this style of content :) maybe what plants you’ve repurchased/what you did different, plant care vlogs etc!!
Definitely!!
Cheers! Wine is one of the best ways to deal with problematic, rare and/or expensive houseplants;)
Indeed it is!
Thanks for the warnings. Very useful info!!! 🌱🌿💚🙋🏼♀️🪴 My hoya curtisii is doing well with aroid mix and morning sun. A lot of illumination.
Wonderful!
I feel you on the Philodendron Brandi and Melanochrysum! 😂
💚💚
I have variegated burlemarx and its pretty ,you can put outside because they need sunlight but nut direct😊
Thanks for the tip!
Brandis want to climb. That will fix those leaves!
Thanks for the tip!
Very nice your colection plant..I like varigated...and beaitifully women...❤ thanks your share... 17:31
Cissus discolor will go dormant inside over winter. early spring when watering is resumed and the days get warm and longer it rebounds incredibly. I have 2 and every winter it is mostly dead by April. By fall when it comes inside it is huge.
Great to know! Thanks!
Great tip, thanks!
I was able to save quite a lot of plants this way, the only problem i have is that too many survive and i am struggling with space and time🤣
Thank you for the helpful tips!
Send me some propagations!😂😂
Tanaman hias anda banyak dan begitu indah. Saya suka video anda. 👍👍🙏🇮🇩💚💚💚
I feel like we are living in the exact same plant world!!! I have 500 plants and all the ones you mentioned are the same ones I now have on my DoNotBuy list! Thank you for validating my feelings 😆
💚💚💚
I’ve learned to just love the Brandi from afar! Just not in my house! Lol
Haha love it!
That’s fabulous! Green thumb!
Oh no!!
와우 건강한 식물을 소개해 주셨네요. 내가 당신을 찾은 것이 행운이네요. 자주 만나요. 반갑습니다. 저는 대한민국에서 온 야생화 이야기꾼 입니다.❤❤❤
Thanks Peggy!
if the variagation goes away instantly it's because it reverting already.
the unstable variagation is what most Philodendron get.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing!!
The brandtianum is a struggle for me as well. If it expired, I wouldn't replace it. There are other beautiful plants that aren't as hard to take care of.
Yes, they are surprisingly tricky!
Awwww sh*t, I just got a Calathea White Fusion. Now I’m gotta watch that baby closely for spider mites 👀
i always struggle with spider mites and tries many pesticides, they always come back...out of desperation i spray hose/wash the back of each leaf and it works ..of course we have to do it periodically but the mites take quite sometime to appear but so far this is more effective ways to combat the mites, remember rain washes the leaf but it doesn't happen in our indoor plants . so we just copy the nature way
I feel like you would love beneficial bugs to take care of your pests.
I’d like to try the 2nd passion vine you showed which had the fruit but don’t think I’ve seen it in any nurseries here
Awesome video. This was very helpful. Thanks
Try to have an Aglonema (Chinese Evergreen) plant..you dont have to worry much as they are so easy to take care of.
Thanks for the tips!!
The verigated burle Marx needs bright light. I have mine under grow lights and I have more of an issue with too much verigation
Brandtianum is nice if you like moss poles. If you want it to trail, get a Scindapsus exotica instead!
Oh no!!
Hoya curtisi.. neglect neglect under a grow light
In my experience, Philodendron Brandtianum only works on a pole or trellis. It’s the only way I’ve managed to size mine up.
Great to know, thank you!
I bought a brandtianum against my better judgement and it’s really heartbreaking. They’re so pretty when you see them in greenhouses and then they put out small, misshapen leaves. And I live in Florida so she’s getting better than average humidity and sun. I think it’s almost time for me to let her go.
💚💚
just go semi hydro on the melanocrsten , lol dont have to worry about watering
For me, anterium is a struggle. I probably bought 10 of Quinn anterium that never survived. I always think that this time I will be able to manage it, but it's never survived.
💚
Variegated alocasia ??? ❤😍 they are such the mood.
I love my brandtianum. Super easy
I wanted a pickle plant and finally a plant shopp found me one I regret getting it it's losing all the pickles you can see the bare stem it hates me
Philo Brandiatum also goes better up a moss pole.
I like the wine with the commentary! I have the opposite problem with my Philodendron burle marx variegated. It’s so variegated that it grows at a snail’s pace!
Yes, wine was needed 😂
Totally agree with curtisii! One of the most difficult hoyas I have ever purchased. I will never buy it again!
Glad it’s not just me!
yeaaa white variegated plants are almost always a pain in the ass. beautiful to look at, but the variagation can be super unstable, the requirements vary alot compared to their regular counterparts and the white inevitably will yellow or brown. there are plants like the njoy pothos which is very easy to care for, but really those are exceptions
💚
Love this video. I need the struggle bus videos too because it shows that not every plant is perfect and healthy for every plant owner. I recently got a full 6” pot of Hoya curtsii knowing that I will probably kill it. It was only $19.99 at Home Depot a couple months back and she is surprisingly still going strong. Fingers crossed!
💚💚💚🪴🪴
My Piper crocatum is pretty happy in pon. It actually grew too long for my ikea cabinet and is now sitting on top of it at ambient humidity and happily growing. The one I tried in soil basically died immediately. My cissus discolor is struggling in self watering…maybe I should have done pon with it too
I definitely need to experiment with pon
I agree with you on most of these plants, except for the h. Curtsii and Piper Crocatum 💜 ♥️ 💕 💖...love thus one ...done great this summer..might do poorly in Winter, tho...is that the problem???...i do live in a very cold region in Colorado in Winter...do very much appreciate your frankness and honesty on these plants...so many people have gone for that var. Alocasia...
💚💚💚
Uuuugggh I bought melanochrysum when it was $200 for 3 leaves. Stayed for a year looking like that, never grew great, chopped and propped, and spider mites!!! Never again 😢
💚💚
My burle marx is under high loght
Ashley loved this video.Just a suggestion with the H.Curtisii....maybe you are watering it too often?I have 2 small ones(2")Cause they are soooo cute😅.I only water them like every 3 wks.And so far they are doing good. And the H.Var Hope i totally agree. They dont grow too fast.I have killed 2 of them😢
Thx for the tip!
Variegated compacts need to to be outside. Heat
So for the burle Marx Var I recommend to chop it up. Look at the stem. Look for a variegated stem. Once it grows that one will have more variegation…. Mine is so crazy 😮😍😍 I’ve been selectively propagating and I have sooo much white now
Thanks for the tip!
😂😂😂
All the ones that you shared are super drama queens. Im so over them. Honestly, i think plants should be a nice, chill hobby. They are beautiful… but meh. The ones that make it, cool and others can just go on their way. Im just sticking to cactii now
Loooove cacti
This makes me feel better about my variegated Burle Marx 😅 I’m trying to propagate the variegated stem and it’s still putting out regular leaves. And my melanochysm that looks like sh*# 😂
The struggle is so real
I sold my Brandy… such a disappointment! I totally agree. Agree with you on all the ones I have.
It’s a toughie!
Thank you!
I faced the same with my philodendron burle marx variegated and melanocrysum. They are very expensive in Bangladesh but it is hard to keep their beauty. I already tried twice with melanocrysum & purchased 2nd time the burle marx😅 let's see what happened 🙂
💚💚💚
💚Thanks nice video, #SousaFamilyGarden 🪴🌿
Thank you!
Ashley, I noticed your wearing a very very light make. up. Your real beauty came out very pretty stay that way. Your pretty. Oh yes Brantianum is a pain love it so much but what can I say. My curtisii is doing well great I just wonder it don’t give me flower.
Thank you!
So with the hoya compacta mine was about that size and wasn't growing... Everybody said they are slow growers..but I've been watering it more than I Used to and now it's trailing. All my "slow growing" hoyas just needed a bit more water in my environment and now they are thriving popping new leaves every other day
That’s great! Thanks for the tip!
