@@SpaghettiKillah so everything you just said was not true!! The 458s will certainly bottom just like any regular edition car. Ferrari made between 15-20,000 458s over 6 years. Also had to do with controlling supply and demand which Mclaren isn’t very good at . Their cars are awesome and a generation ahead of the competition but they are a new company and have some work ahead of them still...
That's their biggest downfall and the reason why they only make limited numbers for their more extreme models, the 540,570,650,675,720 versions will all lose money quicker than the LT versions or spyda but will still lose because mclaren is a young company and to grow and expand you need regular merchandise, they can take their time over the senna, speedtail even the 720s version of the long awaited LT version but the people who are paying for mclarens actual growth is the other owners, it's catch 22, do you bring out a new model every 3/4/5/6 years or do you grow the brand and prestige by keep making new versions? It's a lot slower and can't grow as quickly! Look at koenigsegg they only make hyper cars with a very small number with a small work staff and don't have dealerships, if they started to make a smaller car with less bhp and work meaning a cheaper car and more can be made they could grow their company just like mclaren, mclaren always had a better start due to the racing team it already had so expanding wasn't a problem, more cars made quicker meaning less man hours and cheaper materials, technology is the best way to grow a company like mclaren but it's going to mean your cars depreciate massively because the new version is only 1 or 2 years away! The other big bespoke car companies have already built their names and prestige over the past 40/50/60 plus years so they don't have to flood the market and keep as relevant as the other brands, eventually they will slow down in another 5/6 years when they have built up their prestige otherwise they could start to ruin the brand like apple is doing by people ONLY seeing them as rip off merchants just putting a new model out to make money and not grow their prestige or brand anymore

0.5 sec.. A set of race tyres and 720s will be faster than P1. We dont know what kind of tyre have each one, i hope they have the same but u never know..
I'm just imagining a sucessor to the p1, with the latest suspension variation, on the m840t platform, with the modern batteries and motors from the speedtail as well as the drag reduction designs, coupled in a 720s sized 1300kg lightweight hybrid hypercar.
@Fabian Remiszewski I think I read a few years ago that particular P1 had over 40k miles on it and its had an absolute hiding... I think a couple of cosmetic faults are acceptable.
Idk why, but I don't think it was the real results of 720s vs p1.. those cars are belongs to mclaren as a press-car, and we all know that mclaren didn't want to butt hurt p1 owners that's why we never see a drag race between p1 and 720s.. although maybe p1 is still faster around technical track, but on a drag strip I think 720s will win..
Nice, i went on vacation there as a kid, rented a house with a pool near the ocean, it was really nice. I heard that it is in the top 10 for favorite places to live/retire, rightfully so.
Not only is it 1/4 the price, it's also not a limited run. The 720S is a bargain hypercar. But it couldn't have been imagined without the P1 proving the concept. Plus the character of the P1 (looks, sound, straight-line shocking speed)-and it's limited run-is why it is still worth a pretty penny, and why I still want one.
The issue with having cars, going faster and faster, means you have less time to react and therefore it‘s harder to get the optimal lines and drive as precise as possible. The cars are getting faster, the human isn‘t. Matthias Malmedie in the 919 Hybrid: You can‘t even think fast enough. And that‘s the problem.
919 is a far cry from any production car on the drawing board currently, so no worries for the foreseeable future. And it sounds like more of an opportunity than a problem to me!
TrotelHD that’s not a problem for elite level drivers. It is for the likes of you or I but then neither you or I would ever reach the limit of even a 12c.
All of you settle down. I‘m not really concerned with what we have now, but with what‘s to come. Elite drivers like Vettel, Hamilton, just to name two may at this point in time, are still able to control cars really well. But there‘s still the danger, of electric cars becoming the norm and then what‘s going to happen. The new Rimac concept 2 tops out at 1914 hp and 2300 torques. Yes it is heavy. But still.

One word Just AMAZING
P1 cleaner than your your church shoes ah'
@jon doe will prefer R32, any day. the true Godzilla, where it all started .idk,i dont feel the same for R35.
"Milli point two just to hurt you, ah"
"All Red Lambs just to tease you ah"
"None of these toys on lease too ah"
"Made your whole year in a week too, yah"
Huhu..... That P1 sounds so heavenly 😭
2:10 did he just scratched his helmet?
scratch*
Chris Harris = immediately watches legend 👍👍
Ferrari 488 pista Vs McLaren 720 Vs Porsche Gt2rs please.
Already done, look for the videos
720s wins
I love the sound of that P1
I'm still taking the P1.
So long as someone else pays.
The p1 is mental
P1 in that 720s color
720S in that P1 color
P1 is the perfect one.🤩
P1 👌
If you’re wondering. Not that you are, the music at 4:28 is Elgar’s enigma variations, Nimrod
720s is the bargain like
GTR 35 did 10 years ago
Finally, a presenter that does this show justice! Go Chris!
P1 for me, all day, everyday.
@jon doe the only people who own P1s are super mega wealthy, so if that's last place then count me in.
I am a simple man, i see fast laps and Portugal on the sign and i give you a like!
He should've gone for the pre order edition
and swap the racing V12
Lol
This dude is the only thing keeping top gear alive
2:14 uhm... is the Mclaren Logo on the P1 really bent?
Oh. Nice eyes m8
This is the same P1 used on many reviews including the one Jeremy used in Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
@Fabian Remiszewski I think I read a few years ago that particular P1 had over 40k miles on it and its had an absolute hiding... I think a couple of cosmetic faults are acceptable.
@@winkerr2338 well yeah, but it's still a pity
@Muhtasim Sarker Good spot... it must have been 14k my mistake
Both cars are amazing, I’m proud to be British after seeing this vid and clarkson’s p1 review on top gear in 2014.
Then there is jeremy clarkson, his p1 widow maker review was astonishing
P1 is hyper beast...i love both
*McLaren Senna* : "I'm about to ruin this whole car career"
P1 OOV is a legend.
Idk why, but I don't think it was the real results of 720s vs p1.. those cars are belongs to mclaren as a press-car, and we all know that mclaren didn't want to butt hurt p1 owners that's why we never see a drag race between p1 and 720s.. although maybe p1 is still faster around technical track, but on a drag strip I think 720s will win..
wat 900hp vs 700hp
the p1 would crush it in a line even if the 720s is a bit lighter
His face at 4:21! OMG just paused....ha haaa😆😆😆! I love the p1 though
In Algarve... Portugal my people.
Nice, i went on vacation there as a kid, rented a house with a pool near the ocean, it was really nice.
I heard that it is in the top 10 for favorite places to live/retire, rightfully so.
Beautiful part of the world
Portugal also has the best go karting tracks. Also the nicest food 🤤
Clarkson and the rest of top gear don’t come close to Chris Harris !!
I think the 720s is easier to control that’s why the times were so close . A P1 should be a couple seconds faster
finalli a worthy video to watch
The P1 is masterpiece
But still.
@@limeddasch382 i feel ya bro
Mclaren P1 is a such a photogenic car!
I used to be a fan but not anymore..
Now im an air conditioner
The cinematography is ridiculously good .
720s is faster beast.
chris harries saved top gear my god. his review is just so good
old top gear better
I respect your right to your opinion - for me comparing Chris Harris to James May, the midget, or even Mr. Ego Clarkson is unfair to the tipling triplets...………..it is a bit like comparing James Bond to three mall cops
Remarkable video!! Was waiting for it for so longg!!
I don't like the way Chris Harris thinks. "Imagine spending 600k to go 0.5 seconds faster" what an idiotic thing to say, especially coming from a "petrol head"
The P1 looks timeless❤️💙...
Finally a new top gear episode with some emotion
720s might be half a second slower, but it doesn't have one thing the P1 does. And that's called SOUL! The P1 has SOUL! It not only looks incredible but boy oh boy is that car a world crazy, the technology it has and the sound it makes. Just pure beauty
