      @@davedoingguitar 100% agree.
      They're chord voicings blew my mind.
      Go to sleep, optimistic, these are my twisted words introduced me to alternate tunings and open chord voicings that just changed the way I looked at guitar.
      Great pick!

    Dude great tutorial. I’ve been trying so hard to figure out the proper way to play the bridge and absolutely no one does it right...till now. Hats off to you mate

      Thanks so much Matthew! Yeah every riff in this tune is absolutely killer, and I was pretty happy with what I figured out for each part. Think I picked most of it up from the In Rainbows From The Basement video on YT which is stellar 👌

    Solid tutorial indeed. But let’s also not overlook the great sound you’re getting. That crunch sounds crazy good. How are you getting that?

      Hey thanks so much Hafiz :) i think I’ve just got a bit of low/mid level overdrive on which I get from a pedal called Holy Fire by Creation Audio Labs.

    for the first riff, the 10 - 12 10 - 12 10 - 12 part, do you just pick each string? im having a hard time making it sound good

    • @davedoingguitar
      @davedoingguitar  4 года назад +2

      Hi Kevin, yeah for the 10 - 12 10 - 12 10 - 12 section of that first riff it's picked, but almost strummed in a way. I think in the recording there may be a second guitar just doing a rhythmic muted strum on the quarter notes (when the snare hits) which gives it that sort of lurching feeling.
      So to get that effect you want to keep your wrist loose on your picking hand and strike/strum a couple of the lower strings when you play those 10 - 12 10 - 12 10 - 12 notes (basically not being super accurate with your picking hand) and muting the strings ones you're not hearing a note out of. Might take some practice to get it clean. Hope that helps :)

      It's called an Ebow. It basically makes a small current that vibrates a string and sustains the note for as long as you're holding it on there. Really cool. I got mine from eBay but I'm sure they're in music stores too

  • @NytronX
    @NytronX 2 года назад +4

    The song is a lot harder than one would think, it's a continuous strum that never deviates even on the 10-12 parts. Left handing muting is the hardest part. See here for the correct way: ruclips.net/video/PzF7uyJ4jEc/видео.html

    i seemingly strummed it hard or with an accent on the intro. so that's why some of the unwanted strings played open randomly
    guess i play it lightly then with the effects on it :/
