Thanks for the video. Same exact thing happened to my Mazda 3 recently and I stumbled on your video in search of a solution. Your vid helped me find where the separation happened. Tried the zip tie method but it did not hold unfortunately. I ended up replacing the linkage bushing (bought a pack of them from Autozone) which did the trick for me. I was able to snap the new linkage bushing in place and then connect it to the ball joint (after greasing it) without needing to take the whole assembly out, which some videos showed to do. Had enough space to just use groove joint pliers to get the job done.
Same thing happened to my 2013 Cruze SW. Drilled a 4mm hole in the middle of the nut, shoved a bolt in between, self locking nut and some grease, works perfectly and doesn't come off
Thank you so much! Luckily mine was just the loose nut. Now good as new! Save me a trip to the auto shop, not to mention what they would have charged me to tighten a nut...
got a 2017 equinox and same issue amazon has em for 33$ for the linkage for yours mines 37 thinking that may be the route lol i did think of running a self tapper through the top but haven't tried yet
I thought you were going to drill a hole through the actuator arm and just run a nut and bolt through it with a couple fender washers. Not gonna lie I cringed when I saw the tape and zip tie “fix”. When you have to go in to repair it again try the nuts and bolts next time, you won’t have to repair it every year.

very cool, glad you got it to work!
Monster Glue! I poured it on the same spot. Year later, still works! Monster Glue holds the San Andreas Fault together.
Love it!
I was gonna take the car to the garage before I saw your video, turns out the nut was just loose. Thanks!
Thanks. I have the same car with the same problem. I rigged it this evening, works so far
Enjoyed the use of FUBAR.
Haha, it was/is FUBAR
Also appreciated the dramatic use of zip ties. Especially the matching car color. Top level trolling.
@@Joel-tx9ew zip ties make the world go round,

What size socket do you use to take the wiper off?
Going off memory, I think it was a 15mm
Are the zip ties still holding up? Just ran into the same issue
They are going strong. It rained today and no issues
@@efd Awesome! Thanks for the video it was super helpful

What car is this for ? The video should be named ABC , every car is different that’s why people post what kind of vehicle it is !
2015 Chevy Cruze
Because it’s pretty much universal for MOST wiper systems.
