  • Well. Who saw this coming? After three losses in five games and twenty minutes of being dominated, a rebirthed New Zealand obliterated Ireland on Saturday, smashing them open in thrilling style. So, what innovations took New Zealand to the scalp, and is there hope for Ireland heading into two more tests?

      Aside from being a great player, Sexton is a great brain on the field and willing to control, that part also needs to be replaced either at 9 or 10 if ruck speed is to capitalised on. Without that authority, Ireland fall apart. I don't see Joey controlling the game like that - that's something Sexton had out of the box. Perhaps Jamison Gibson Park could. -- just another armchair coach talking though..

Just imagine if he did this to a grand final game of tennis, or an F1 race-day, or a world cup soccer team. Makes himself sound like a legend off the extreme skill of others, namely the sportsmen. Every team is meant to have a strategy drrr. The team that does it best - ummm, wins! So since the ABs strategy was so obvious (as the narrator of this vid would have us all believe), then why do the ABs smash so many other teams to smithereens?

      All blacks have been well off their best for years now, they win through individual brilliance and ruthless chance taking. Not strategy, that is his entire point, they are so good they compete and win without the superior strategies that others use to win.

      And every team in the world been analysing the ABs and caught up, with new training techniques and professional coaches etc for those teams, so the ABs had to make some adjustments & up their game. Plus we don't always have the best players in NZ in the ABs for some strange reason.
      Stopping & pausing video & commenting does not mean he knows anything. He's just giving his interpretation of AB strategy. There's only two or three star players in any team, that's why they there, but a game is not won just by them. Geeez man wake up

    As an Irish fan, this wasn't that bad; this is precisely why they are down there to learn before the RWC; despite the inflated score line, most of those came from Ireland switching off before halftime when Sexton went down. #FACT He clearly dislikes the Irish! 2 weeks after OBLITERATING the ABs in Test 2 we still have nothing from him. Now we've won the series and little Sqidgeen is gonna have to reel himself right back in! :-) Can't wait to see what he's got although I'm not holding out much hope for a favourable review!!! He'll probably focus on ABs error-ridden performances rather the the TOTAL OBLITERATION achieved by the men in green! C'mon Squidgeen - you can do much better ;-)

  • @TheBlackJersey

    You've completely overlooked the All Blacks' kicking game. 1:04 Will Jordan chip-kicks (against Wales and against Ireland) and Codie Taylor's clean break against South Africa were constructed through the creation of mismatches, while at 7:55 we have the exploitation of Keenan's backfield positioning.
    Foster is slowly designing a system that will counter the opponents' low number of defenders in the back field. With Keenan rushing up out of position due to the ruck speed, the pods have forced Keenan to come forward and allow the All Black backs to exploit space left by Keenan.
    The 2023 Rugby World Cup will be won by a kicking game and the initial selection of Tupaea for this season is a red herring.

    • @acadiamusic514
      @acadiamusic514 2 года назад

      From what I could see in the first 15 they intentionally kicked a lot to push back the Irish back 3 and slow down the defensive line speed and then switched to attacking the corners in the defense with the wide passes to flat pods when Ireland's defence became unbalanced. A few smart phases to split the field, switch directions, then went wide. Shorter attacking kicks as well with the increased space between the back 3 and main defensive line (and a lack of scrum half sweeping).
