I am trying to decide between both and it’s really really difficult to choose. I am trying both and both are great, but so far, Wix has some better tools but squarespace has better templates.
I feel like wix and square space are the apple and android of website makers. Wix is like android it looks a little older but is more customizable and square space has less editing but (in my opinion) more updated and easier to use
Thank you! I'm a visual artist who has been struggling to find a good fit for creating a portfolio site that I can also drive sales from. I'd narrowed it down to Wix and SquareSpace but have had issues with both. This video has helped a lot! So, thanks again for such a well thought out presentation. Subbed!
If you are a visual artist Wix gives you more flexibility and you can literally start your website from a blank canvas and not be reliant on any template. I’d also check out Webflow if you don’t need e-commerce features (that one is super powerful and more targeted towards graphic designers without needing to code).
Great reviews of both. I know and have used WIX and found your description to be highly accurate. I do not know SS but it makes sense that it somewhat mirrors the capabilities of WIX but that it is more static/template driven (my inference from your description). I think I will go back to WIX as I am going to be building a landing page with a product that will have links to other sites for order placement and fulfillment. I don't need a full blown E-commerce capable site as I will outsource that to 3rd parties. Thanks for your insights!
I have a Wix store. You're right about custom receipts etc - they are there but you have to take a deep dive from the dashboard to find them. Overall I'm happy though - the updates to the editor over the last few years have been very positive.
Watching this after switching from Squarespace to Wix after 4 years 😅 Squarespace is nice but they are currently going through some changes...that I am too impatient to wait for lol. I'm gonna miss Squarespace but Wix gives me more creative freedom. Plus, you can basically set up your own grid on Wix.
Great overview man... setting up my Nutrition and Lifestyle coaching site... using squarespace at the moment, find it a bit annoying with spacers and quite un intuitive (better than wordpress though) . One thing about the more restrictive nature of squarespace though, as a beginner it might help your stick to tested layouts , fonts etc From a background in photoshops, where using layers etc makes everything fluid, Wix seems more "artistic" and with less block to be encountered. Of course, everything is tough when you are just learning it, so once I get into squarespace maybe I'll be evangelical about how great it is... but it really seems for a beginner Wix might be easier . Thanks for the presentation, great job, great manner... really clear
Wix can do e-commerce. It’s an app that can be added to the website. The e-commerce/store app can sell physical and digital products. It looks pretty easy to manage the “shop” on Wix. Just saying. :) Thanks for the great comparison video. It helped me decide to stay with Wix. :D
Back in 2019 I looked at Wix, Squarespace and Duda platforms in order to find a better alternative to difficult o manage WordPress & Joomla! Duda was by far the best website builder, for a small agency like mine anyway. Would you consider doing tutorials for them too? They have great tech support!
It’s really tough for a Wix site to perform well in the search rankings. I’d recommend building on Wordpress if you’re not comfortable programming yourself and Squarespace if you’re short on time and looking for a WISIWYG editor.
Thanks for this! I've been using wix for a while & considered switching to squarespace. I like the freedom of wix & getting started aspect. I wish wix had better customer service.
Love your content. Do you have an opinion on which is better for blog and affiliate marketing - wix or Builderall? I’d be keen to hear your opinion. Thanks 🇦🇺
My older coworker wants to start a local business helping the elderly or people that need help with tasks like shopping or driving to local places. We're in a very small town with no Uber or anything. Everyone knows each other and everyone is on Facebook. Which would be the best way to go about helping setup a website for this? Or does she even need one? Maybe she just needs a Facebook business page to share with people given the size of the town we're in and the audience it's mainly geared towards.
Great video! I have a problem. As far as I can see there's no way on Wix to give users the ability to update data that they submitted previously. For example to edit a brief resume or just to change their address. Seems like an elementary requirement to me, which is why I never thought to check it out before I signed up with them. This is an absolute MUST on the site I'm developing. I've done quite a bit of work and now I'm worried it's been wasted. Is there any hack to get Wix to do this? If not, does Wordpress, Squarespace or any other tool allow you to?
Is Wix the best for selling photo art prints? Just want a clean, simple look. Nothing complicated, just white background and the photos with titles and sizes available. Also, very important, a good easy to use e-commerce platform, AND good live support that actually takes PHONE CALLS and assists in real time. I'm leaning toward WIX, but what do you recommend for my needs? Thanks, great video!
My daughter is started her first online business, e-commerce beauty products, 10-20 skus max and she's thinking of adding subscription services in a year after launch. Which one is best for that?
I'm trying to sell books. self publish. I think imma pull up on Wix bc I like the free version and eventually getting the paid one once I get some sales and clients
Hi, Thanks for sharing such a great video. Awesome job! I was wondering, would you still do mock layout design, style guide and wireframe in sketch/figma, or just jump straight into the builder?
Do either of these have the ability to allow the customer to download a pdf file by automatically emailing the link to them once they purchase? I sell pdf files and need the customer to get them quickly.
What os beat for a youth soccer club? Registration, invoicing, summer camp, about us, links and contact. Not interested in results, schedueles bla bla... I am a barber and I want a website for the first time, appointments easy to use, put notes, emails reminders and text, show services and products I can sell too. I use SCHEDULICITY now for appointments and all stuff that’s good too I like. But want my own website. But which one you guys think is great for me as first to do it? Thx for answers in advance
So im a personal trainer and i want to build my first website. On this website i just want to show pictures of my workplace and progress pictures, display my training options and times along with information about me, and excersizes. What would you recommend to for building my first website? I used Shopify for a couple days for another project and it was quite easy for me to use....
Squarespace's customer service is almost non-existent. You are on your own to figure things out. At least with Wix you can set up calls. Also I find Wix's templates higher quality than squarespace.
I'm looking for making an e-commerce website such as dropshipping and affiliate marketing... But do you think using Wix is the best choice or I should go to another site? Thank you, Santrel Media.
Have you done any research on personalization tools for Wix and Squarespace? I am writing a blog on WEbsite personalization and not able to find much on these two platforms.
i have a question if i buy the wix premium plan for e-commerce and online business does that mean that those facilities will be available for other websites on the same account ? i don't know yet whether I can host 2 websites from a single account yet so that's why I'm asking . And also in terms of the SEO assistance which website builder has better response and effectiveness ? someone please let me know
Hi! I'm part of a group in college and besides using it as a blog, we want to put some study material (like images, games, texts...) on a website so teachers can download it and use it with their students at school. Which website builder do you think it would be better? Thank you from Brazil!
Late response, but I recommend Wix. It is a lot more flexible and also includes an option for a more advanced placing feature (For example, you can place your own vectors) so you can make your site as unique as possible. But remember, take this with a grain of salt.
Overall, I don't suggest using any EIG host. Take WIX if you need a free site. Otherwise, consider buying a domain and hosting service via Namecheap, A2 Hosting, etc. There are plenty of them. But please, don't use any EIG hosting service such as Bluehost, Hostgator, etc.
The inability on Squarespace to create custom shipping options individually for each product is driving me mad (you can only set it by weight), and making me seriously consider switching. Can you create custom shipping options individual to each product on Wix?
I decided to give Wix a try, and I'm finding that the editor is extremely stiff and clunky, more like the one you showed for Squarespace. Can't move anything around or resize images at all. Did something change?
Just FYI. If you get your domain name with wix you will never be able to leave them. They over charged me so I left but now that the time I paid for the domain name is up I no longer have access to my email. They have locked my domain name and refuse to let me move it. I have lost everything attached to the email and they refuse to help me. You would be safer with ANYONE else.
Say I build a personal site with Wix to start off, then later I build a personal site with bought hosting and different domain name. How do I redirect visitors used to Wix site to personal site, and maybe cease using the Wix site?
I really liked ur honest opinion what u think about Wordpress ? I am thinking to make affiliated business kind for different niches in one website kind of It will be affiliated product of fat loss stuff & meditation training and exercise training product .
If you want your style to be Apple, the best design in the world (a pretty good bet), do squarespace. If you want your own design because your style is different than Apple's and you don't want to plagiarize, then do Wix.
I would like to know if Wix would be better for me, I want to make a page where only within cities near me and local pickup is available...because I hate posting tons of pictures and writing all the info again and again threw all the major places like facebook market and offerup and letgo and 5mile. I want to just make a site with all the things I am selling and just link people to the page and they can message me from the site because I will add my facebook messenger and then we deal with the sale there on the messenger. Another thing would be if I add a new product I usually have one or two of and then it gets sold so my question is can I delete the product with Wix and how many product images with prices can I put and can I do all this with just the free version?

Hi, which is better to use if I'm trying to make a website that is more on viewing but it has payment feature like for donation?
mannn where is yall CSS on this site or is this what yall going for?
I have always used WIX for my official RUclips channel website. Even for a 9 year-old it's really simple and easy to use 👍

Just finished a portfolio site using Squarespace. It definitely has its limitations, but it was really straightforward to use.
3:54 Wix sounded great until he mentioned the inability to change templates without having to start over. Yikes

@@frolichd1049 lots of self-promo. I know it’s really obvious sounding, but it’s super helpful on whatever social media you use. Good luck!

WIX IS THE BEST and customer service is awesome
Correction:
Wix also has the restore feature and saves previous publishes.

Yes! Wix allows this option. You can add a PDF as the 'delivery' for a purchase.
P2 Design thank you for getting back with me.
That was my question, too! I want to automatically email images to the customer.
Squarespace does that too - if you add it as a digital product in your store
WIX has multi author as well, they have the add author button.
