Russian GPS must be different from European.
My GPS tells me that it is only a guidance, and to always follow the law of the road and look at signs before doing anything.
Basically it's one big "You must not trust this device, over using your common sense".
Maybe they dont have common sense in Russia and this warning has been omitted from Russian GPS for that reason.

Not sure where you live, but if you even THINK about driving on the sidewalk in most countries, you got a ticket. A pricey one. The reason why this movement is necessary in Russia, is because the cops are corrupt and lazy and the fines are very low. Well... and because hardly anybody gives a shit over there.
