    Thank you for this video!!! i got some advice from you months ago about my string of pearls and i followed instructions. Since those months i introduced to my hanging basket string of bananas and inserted a hydrospike which my both my string of pearl and banana loves. I was surprised about the hydrospike and have been using it since february and has grown long since. Thank you so much for your videos theyre always soooo informative.

    Nell how do you propagate the pearls? I live in Texas and mine are inside. Because of the Gulf Coast and the weather do I still follow the rule of thumb spring and summer. Even though the plant inside it still hot and humid. Also where can I get the variegated string of Pearls?

    May I know if the pearls, if kept in the pot as such, gets rooted?

    I propagated mine in water and it worked. I live in the cold part of UK so I always find it difficult to propagate succulents in general , but I'm glad it worked. What kind of soil do you think would be more beneficial for indoor string of pearls as they're ready to be in pots? Thanks.

      Yashashwi Sharma I always wondered if that was possible. Did you just stick the tips in until root?

    • @celesteforslund7500
      @celesteforslund7500 6 лет назад

      Yashashwi Sharma how long did it take? :-)

      Hiya, yea' I let them heal over for 4 days and then dunked rhe stem in water, I tried soil but they didn't root at all and the beads got all pruney but they recovered in 2 days in water and it took fifteen days in a glass bowl and warmish room with good ventilation to root them.
      Some of the branches started forming new beads under water too, so it was quite fascinating, I'm going to pot them this week.

      Good to know. I've never done it that way before so I'm glad you shared! I think I'll try it sometime & let you know my results. A succulent & cactus mix is best. You can always order a small bag online if you can't find it locally. Nell

    Hi, new subscriber and I really enjoyed this video on string of pearls, I love this succulent very much although I don't have one at this time as I have a kitty who likes eating live indoor plants. I have had a difficult time as of late finding string of pearls in my area, and the few places I've searched on line they are sold out, but I'm not giving up. I love the other string of varieties. I really enjoyed your video and your sense of humor. I am a new subscriber. Thank you so much.

      Carol Flansburg done some research today. they like dry soil and conditions, they have short roots so they like shallow pots and like to be neglected. They like shady outdoor areas x

    I recently bought my first String of Pearls plant, so this is good info to know. Nell, what is the name of that bird in the back ground. Sounds similar to our the Mourning doves we have in the SF Bay Area. :)

      Hi - I'm south of San Francisco on the coast working on a garden right now! Yes, they are doves. We have quite a few species of them & they're vocal as can be. Nell
