  • Cat Eye Discharge - What is it and when should you see a vet!
Whether your cat is experiencing some minor discharge or you are worried it is something more serious - knowing the causes and treatments for eye discharge and infections is important for your cat's overall health. Savannah and Mia will be going through the ins and outs today!
Relax My Cat are experts in creating relaxing music to help calm your cat and help them sleep. Our music is composed in-house by our team of producers, and uses binaural technology designed to relax and calm your cat. If your cat has sleeping problems or anxiety problems or is even stressed during construction, fireworks or other loud noises, you should try our music.
♫♫♫ Relax My Cat Music on iTunes:
    itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/re...
Relax My Cat's music will help to calm and soothe your cat or kitten in a variety of situations. Minimise separation anxiety, reduce hyperactivity, minimise fear of thunderstorms or fireworks, stop unwanted whining, comfort sick or injured cats and calm your cat on car journeys - Relax My Cat does it all!
Our music is based on feline vocal communication and environmental sounds that pique the interest of cats; it is written in a musical language that is uniquely designed to appeal to the domestic cat. All of the music is recorded on traditional instruments and the human voice. No actual cat, mouse, or bird calls are used (although it may sound like it).
Relax My Cat’s music is unique, and will help in a variety of situations as a substitute for medication. We have helped thousands of cats and kittens worldwide to sleep and reduce their anxiety. Music therapy for your cat can keep them calm, happy and healthy, and it is a great way to rehabilitate rescue cats - or just get your kitten or cat used to their new home.
Being re-homed is an incredibly stressful time for cats - as they have to get used to a lot of different sights and sounds, as well as their new family and any other pets in the household. We recommend that you play Relax My Cat during this time, and it will help reduce their heart rate and relax them while they explore their new surroundings. No more whining kittens - they will get used to your home in no time at all with the help of Relax My Cat's music!
You may be litter training, which can be a stressful time for both cat and parent, and our music will soothe your kitten making your life easier. When listening to Relax My Cat you will notice your kitten start to relax, and get more used to their tray, or similarly if you are training them to get used to their travel box.
It is also very useful to calm your cat during car journeys - which many kittens find a stressful time. They may associate it with vets visits - so we recommend playing Relax My Cat's music before and after visits to the vet to reduce their stress.
The worst time of year for over 60% of cats is Firework season - the loud bangs are really scary for them and you may notice a huge change in your kitty during this time. Thunderstorms are another difficult time for cats, with the majority of cats being very scared of storms because of the unfamiliar loud noises. Relax My Cat is the perfect solution to this anxiety inducing situation - just play our music to reduce your cats anxiety and make them feel safe.
The most common problem we hear is separation anxiety in cats - being separated from you can cause severe anxiety in many cats. Relax My Cat’s music has improved thousands of cases of separation anxiety and noisy felines all over the world.
Our music will help cats of all breeds and ages to stay relaxed and keep calm. We are also on a number of social media platforms - so join our community and let's chat! We love to hear about and see pictures of your kitties!

Glad Mia sounds on the mend. Bless her sending positive thoughts:).. our oldest cat was in the wars with one or perhaps more of our clan. Noticed she had closed saw eye which my vet freind says they are prone to scratches. Noticing a blood teary thing coming from the sometimes saw eye. I do the same gently with a tissue.

we have two cats and one has had eye boogers for years.
I decided to apply some triple antibiotic ointment in the corner and there was an improvement overnight.
I had granulated eyelids from the age of 10 to around 29 when I decided to use some antibiotic ointment to my eyelids. Two weeks later I looked in the mirror and realised that I no longer had the infection that I had had for so long.

When my cat has the eye discharge we give him a Lysine supplement because when we got him.. the shelter where he was, was under quarantine due to feline Herpes... he has feline herpes so it will affect him for the rest of his life and because of this I wont get another cat that hasn't been affected so I don't get a healthy cat sick. :edit: FHV-1 is an upper respiratory infection of the nose and throat in cats with no cure and because of this I watch him for any sign of an infection.

My cat has had a lot of eye discharge or tear production since I got her (found her on the streets and took her home). Like- everyday. But she has absolutely no other symptoms. The vet didn’t seem worried and she doesn’t seem to mind it aside from the half closed eyelids from time to time? I’m not sure what to do tbh

Same problem right now just got a kitten and been sneezing a lot but I didn’t think of it as anything just thought he was sneezing because of the new environment smelling new stuff, he’s been playing with my other young cat that’s 1 yr and 10 month old and But just recently my older cat started getting thick discharge (green/dark brownish guck/boogery,) and is squinting more now and after I clean his eyes it’s alMost if as around the eye it’s getting mildly red(er), but he seeMs fine right now energy level and eating and joint to the bathroom wise but I’m torn on whether is should just get the over the counter eye drops vetiricyn for cats but or just take him to the vet and of course when I told the lady over the phone that works at the pet vet that I use for him, she said that” you shouldn’t and we strongly recommend you don’t take over the counter medication it I asked them wouldn’t you just give me the same medication just prescribed anyways ? And ofc she came up with another “oh no this is way different” bs like these cat eye drops that are on the shelves will just actually make your cat go blind and how does that make sense the store even selling it then but idk help me out please 🤯😞

Should we take her to the vet for this? This has been happening for years I just don’t know if it’s anything to worry about.

I know I should've made a vet appointment months ago. It's been 4 months where I seen my cats eyes water a lot and more than her littermate. She kept throwing up periodically, but it might of been change in food, but her litter mate didn't really throw up. I think I hear a noise coming from her chest like she's congested. I think it's allergies, but I don't know. My grandma and mom convinced me that nothing was wrong and I sort of listened to them, but I'm still worried. I made a vet appointment for both cats

My kitten's left eye or sometimes both get eye discharge and irritation. I've taken her to the vet and got medications for it, but it returns. Right now my other cat is having very mild form of it. I'm suspecting it might be some form of allergy to food. I recently bought a humidifier, I have an Air purifier and vacuum. The only thing that helps the little one is saline drops I use a small syringe or a small towel i mix a piece of sea salt with room temp to slightly warm water. It does help for now, I'm trying to figure out what it is though

my cat has been prescribed metacam by the vet because he had blood in his urine and they thought it was due to an infection. after having cultured his urine, it turned out that he did not have a bacterial infection. but yes, since I stopped taking that product, my cat suffers from a watery eye, could it have been due to the metacam? because he didn't have that before.

    • @relaxmycat
      @relaxmycat  10 месяцев назад +1

It's unlikely due to the metacam - metacam is an anti-inflammatory very similar to Ibuprofen for us. It could be a coincidental occurrence or linked to the infection. If you're worried just let your vet know.
