@@BigPoppieSeed I did learn some through research and some the hard way. Hopefully this series will help others not have to learn the hard way like I did
Thanks! I have a Riffe mid gun with open track but modified to shoot without the line on the bottom for faster repetitive shots. I carry three rods. Will carry from now on two because it makes it muzzle heavy
Love your videos. I have used a lot of your information to guide me over the past two years. And the “Fish ID” video is still saved as my Favorite. I’ve gotten pretty successful up here off the NC coast as a, not new diver, but New spear fisherman. With lots of it due to your information. Along with watching a lot of other Spear fishing videos, fish ID at the Aquarium, and conversation with friends. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again for this series. For us non speros, this is great information. This being an educational series, awhile back you posted a fish identification video, if not to much trouble, could you attach the link for that video to this series. As a long time subscriber almost all fish looked alike to me when you dove (Black Grouper and hogfish being the exception) but thanks to that video, I can almost score 100% for fish ID. I'm sure some may not know about it and I'm certain many would find as beneficial as I did. Thanks again for the effort you put into your videos.
Grace and Peace to you . Open track and closed track are comparable to , Shotgun and Rifle. Conditions are the important factor. Try both and use what you feel is most effective . Buy yours from AY .. blessings to you and yours.❤
You should be measuring the bands that you are replacing that are already on the gun. If you buy a gun that doesn't have bands call the manufacturer they will know what length bands they take. there are formulas to determine band length and stretch %. But it's not something I ever use, if you go too tight or too soft the gun can become inaccurate.
who knows! I heard Elvis is still alive but have yet to see any proof! haha. but I've never had any issues with range or power with my enclosed tracks. it would take some pretty serious testing to prove theories like that, by no means am I saying it can't be true. I just personally think it would be so minimal, it would be hard to test and notice.
Sorry Aaron. This is no good for ME. I'm sure it is good. I'm tapping the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters because I know they help you get more videos that are for ME. Boy, I sound selfish. Thank you. I'm waiting for, "Welcome back under water."
Based on the basic concepts of friction i believe hypothetical they should. Personally i think the difference would be so minimal it would be hard to notice. But would love if someone did that test one day!
@@KeyWestWaterman yeah I’ve seen a vid where the guy had to really power up an enclosed track gun whereas when he removed the track it was similar penetration but with less band “power” (easier load). It’s something to look into because I believe if you went open track every load would essentially be easier. I really like this guy spearq8 I think he’s known by on RUclips. He did a lot of testing about 10 years ago and I think most of his stuff has proven correct in the last few years. He recommends double band traditional guns over rollers and recommends 14mm bands for 7mm shafts stretched to 360. Chennai is Worth checking out one night if you’re bored.
Will you be covering tactics in the water later this week?
This week is all the basics. Down the road I will get into some in water stuff.
@@KeyWestWaterman I'm here for it! and a playlist for the basics pls thank you!!!!
To a 20 year old who is just starting to speer fish these videos are gold. Well done
All this info should have come out 10 years ago when I was starting out. This will help so many.
You could have done some research...no?

As a guy just getting into spear fishing, I would love to hear you do a ‘best gun at various price points’ video.

LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BROTHER! THE MORE YOU DO THE MORE I WATCH! GREAT JOB!
I know all this and not a beginner far from but I still enjoy watching a good tech talk !
I appreciate that!
Love the new info. Especially for beginners. All of your videos are great.
Awesome, thank you!
I personally prefer enclosed track but like you said both work great.
Thanks for this series. Helping me big time.
love to hear it!
I saw you out on the water today. About 2pm you were headed in the. Inlet by Pelican Key.
Sounds about right!

Question about your band making video..how do you determine the length of the band for a specific size gun?

Thank you for the really helpful tool sharing
Glad it was helpful!
Nice sharing lods watching from Palawan Philippines
What is your most used gun or all around most versatile?
All my guns are enclosed. Unless you mean which specific gun. Then the BG 2.0 is my most reached for gun.
i have heard enclosed track the shaft does slow down faster than an open track

@@KeyWestWaterman Michael jackson too 😅🤣🤣🤣 but yeah i wud like to see someone make a test for the people.
Does the enclosed track help with shaft whip when using say a double roller mechanism where there is extreme pressure?
Mate why did you stop doing charters? You seem to be a pretty nice guy to hang around!
Haha That’s exactly why I stopped! A few more years of it, and I wouldn’t be.
👍
What about us boys and girls out here? You stopped greeting us. 😁
it'll be back don't worry, just for this series.

I’m doing a week of spearfishing tips and tricks videos. I talked about it earlier this week. Will be back to the regular videos on Monday.
👍✌
Idk I believe if you did a penetration test, open track would “win” all other things being equal. I won’t shoot an enclosed track I could be wrong.
