It was so nice to see Lewis out enjoying a walk! He is a very fortunate guy to have such a loving caring family, always striving to do the best for him!! I was so happy to see this video on soy. It's been a topic I have been interested in for years, although my interest was the negative effects of soy in humans. I didn't realize how many companies have been putting it in pet food! We have chosen to feed our dog a home cooked diet, but he does get a 1/2 cup Blue Wilderness along with it, and he gets vitamin supplements. I am constantly reading and trying to make sure our boy is getting what he needs. Thank you for all the great information you bring to us!
Thanks Barb
So happy to hear about Lewis!
Thanks
Hi Lewis! We love you Lewis!! Glad the new treatment is helping!!!! I've seen pets pull thru cancer with this treatment. If it helps to feel better, THAT is good! Keep that tail waggin'!
Thanks
I am so glad you discuss soy. It is in ALL of our diets because it is cheap, plentiful, and falsely claimed to be good for us. Our seniors are given soy in nursing homes - it causes diarrhea, confusion, depression - but they keep giving it to them because, like drugs, it is supposed to "help" them. Kids in school are suffering because it is in all of their food as a protein supplement. They can't wake up or concentrate because of soy! It does affect our endocrine systems to the point that our bodies do not know how to react to disease and illness, or to good health! We are eating things that are Genetically Modified (95% of all soy, corn, and wheat are GMO) which we are finding out causes our bodies to fail when fighting illness. Why take the chance of eating foods forced on us by the FDA and USDA that are questionable and could cause disease and reduce the effectiveness of our immune systems??!! The effects of soy on cats and dogs is being seen to cause G.I. and behavioral problems. Could it shorten their lives or lessen their ability to fight illness? Probably. Food companies (human or animal) are out to profit, and adding soy, a cheap filler is how they are doing it, at our expense.
Thanks for adding to the discussion, and I agree with your points
Thank you for letting people know about the dangers of Soy. I, myself, got hypothirotism from eating soy and so did my twin. We did not know how bad soy is and now we know!
P.F. - Thank you for all you informative videos..I'm afraid I already know Lewis has already passed, he has gone and is playing with other dogs across Rainbow Bridge. He will be waiting there for you. He was such a good dog he deserves to be happy and pain free.
Thanks Pat
I am glad Lewis is doing better. Thanks for the info.
Thanks
What a gift --Talking about Lewis
:-)
My dog had on going ear infections, the veterinarian insisted I feed my dog exclusively this soy based protein dog food , that they sell for about $60 a bag. I took the pamphlet and researched the ingredients on line and was disgusted with what I learned. I decided that I would no longer buy dog food and feed him strictly meat protein boiled. Also some carrots ,kale , chopped , lightly sauteed to soften slightly in coconut oil . His fur is white with a tinge of beige . He used to have brown stains all around his mouth fur on his face and on his paws they would be stained brown, Not any more. All stains gone.He is a Pomeranian cross Bichon , small dog ,so it is not expensive to buy meat on sale boil it and feed him some 3 times a day with a bit of veggies once a day. I was concerned about how much to give him but I just used common sense on how much you would feed a small child. Of course he loves it so much he will always want more . People think he is a puppy because he looks so healthy, He is eight. Sometimes I put a teaspoon of organic apple vinegar mixed in his meat. I also buy organic kale ,organic carrots, cook enough for the week , put in container in the fridge. Boiled pork cuts or chicken drumsticks also for a week.Of course I do not give him the chicken bone but I give him the cartilage from the ends of the bone. I also found mixing drops of tea tree oil in baby shampoo was good for his itchy skin of course no on his face.
andrew, you are great! hugs to Louis
THanks
thanks for sharing Lewis intro in the video!
Thank You
Louis is looking good, what a sweet dog he is!!
Thanks
I love your videos Doctor
thank you for your common sense.
You are welcome
Thank you Dr Andrew, not going to feed my furbaby that stuff!!
Made me cry to see Lewis, same body language my 60 lb.Taco Boy had. I know...... It's so dang hard.
Prayers for Lewis, You, and Your Family💝
Thanks Janice
I'm glad you share all these things. I am trying to eat better and have my dogs eat better with me. What you cover just reinforces the info I find that we as humans should avoid. Knowing that we could all do better if we would just read the food labels and do a little research to figure out what all this stuff is in our pet food and our food really goes a long way. I am glad you are helping Lewis with the cannabis oil. I wish more states would make it legal for health reasons. I think it is stupid to make it legal for smoking and not legal for the oil to be used for health reasons. Georgia (where I live) has passed laws for the oil for health but no one can grow it in the state. I have read your books and get your supplement for my dogs. They love it so much they will lick it straight out of the dish (even without food). I just switched to Fromm dog food from 4Health and hope my one dog who gets yeast in his ear will stop getting that. I wish I had the time and money to make a balanced dog food for my 3 dogs but working full time and having a family to support doesn't leave much time to make dog food. Thanks so much for you knowledge sharing.
Thank You Cynthia
Thank you for the great information about soy - blech! I appreciate all of your helpful videos and will continue praying for Lewis (and you).
Thanks Rita
Ur videos make me happy 😊 and I have a question .. can u pls make a video on luxating patella? We just found out our small dog has that and I'm wondering what are some things I can do for him aside from a surgery that isn't even guaranteed to work (home remedies and stuff that will actually work and help him) it's sad and unfortunate as he's only a year and half :(
Hi and I have done so here: ruclips.net/video/DpphBJAMSh0/видео.html
Lewis is looking good. I am glad to hear he is responding well to the CBD oil. Its even better that the CBD can cover him and get him off the narcotics which can tend to depress activity - give him better days that way with more activity. I have always just avoided soy in my pet's food. My dog had thyroid issues a number of years ago and I found some information that soy could cause thyroid problems and it happened that the food we were using had soy in it. We changed the diet and he now has normal thyroid function studies and does not require thyroid medications. Between that and dealing with another dog with Lymphoma (that went into remission with treatment and proper diet and never returned) what I fed my pets became something we started taking very seriously. Now I basically choose foods (commercially made and home made) that use ingredients that they would naturally eat if still wild and limit supplements to a good multivitamin and your Ultimate Canine and Feline Formulas. Doing this has alleviated allergies and kept them very healthy. Also good to check the ingredients in treats that are fed too - some "natural" treats are so called because they are mostly soy based - not a good thing in the long run.
Thanks Pam
thanks for sharing the info Sir
Thank You
👍👌
Please give Lewis a hug from me. With regard to your talk on Soya. Quite a few vets in the U.K. recommend Hills and Royal Canine - in fact you can buy them while you are at the practice. I use Lily's Kitchen. It's expensive - but worth every penny. She has a web site.
I also home cook for my dog - chicken and chicken livers - venison - occasionally beef
sweet potato, vegetables an occasional hard boiled egg. I used to give my labrador Arden Grange - another British manufacturer - until I found out it was animals carcasses - not real meat. I am certainly not saying I have got this right, but I won't feed them junk. Other friends use products like Iams and I will suggest they check as to whether they are using soya in their products. Thank you Dr. Jones.
Thank You
Thanks Thanks so much!
Welcome
Hugs to Lewis.
Thanks
Wow that dog food is what my vet doctor gives with a perscipsion ,but sents I moved to an area that I can't get them to send me there perscipsion so I have them on tast of the wild grainfree food roasted bison and roasted venison high prairie cainine.. my dogs have to be on grainfree food. What should I feed them.?.
Hypothyroidism is out of control in dogs. We must feed our dogs raw/home cooked diets to keep them in good health.I'm glad that Lewis is feeling better, my dog Rocky who also has fibrosarcoma is doing great on his many supplementsand a raw diet.I will continue to keep Lewis in my prayers.
THanks
Its out of control with people too. I just found out most of my female friends thyroids are out of control. Soy the main disruptor of it. Thats insane. 😑😒
Thank you for your services to humanity. 111♡ Namaste
Thank You
Sending many hearts to Louis. Much research should go into medicinal plants and I hope that scientists will focus their attention more on plants and other holistic means. Pieris Japonica is very calming to the whole system including the brain but has to be given in very small doses. I take one to three leaves per night. I had given Kenny only a quarter of a leaf which helped him at night and made him feel better and more relaxed. I am on Chromebook it does not have emoticons. Otherwise I would send Louis the same hearts as underneath.
Thanks
I'm slo unhappy that my vet told me to feed Hills science prescription diet to my diabetic maybe cushings disease dog, although I'm allowed to give him half raw Big Dog, I can't find anything in the ingredients that mean good food for dogs
Hallo. I am a fairly new subscriber and I am loving your channel. I hope your dog does well!! I have a lot of catching up to do but I have a request. One of my dogs is paralyzed from the waist down. She is one year old, was a stray dog (I come from Greece and we have very many stray dogs) and was found paralyzed when she was about 5 months old. I was told that she will suffer very often with Urinary tract infections, she already got an infection once, and she will have to take antibiotics for it. I was wondering if there are any natural ways to fight or better prevent these infections since I dont like to have to put her on antibiotics all the time. Thank you!
Hi Bessy,
The big thing is to keep lots of water going into her, keep the folds around her vulva clean using an antiseptic wash like chlorhexidine, and then you can treat the UTI's with honey - 1 tablesppon/40lbs twice daily for 5-7 days.
Thank you! Do you know of any supplements, any foods that I could incorporate in her diet that might also help prevent these infections?
So can I totally eliminate dog food for my pup and feed him meat and some veggies daily?
hey dr. Jones I have a question for you does Kibbles and bits have any soy in them that's what we buy for our dog
LIkely yes
Veterinary Secrets oh my gosh wow what kind of dog food can I use?
sir i have neo mastiff i give goat milk daily at one time is good or not .. nd i have questions is soya bean milk is good for my neo or not ?
What brand of dog food is the safest?
Hi Rose,
Go with a higher quality 'natural' brand - personally the best food is what you make at home, and raw. I have just mixed it up with my dogs feeding a variety
Thank you Dr Jones. My thoughts are also with you & Louis. We lost our boxer to brain cancer and our maltese to bladder cancer. Caregiving a beloved pet is emotionally draining but well worth the fight for their comfort and extra time with us. Praying Louis goes in to remission.
If Soy throws off the human thyroid why would it be okay for pets. They wouldnt eat soy in the wild. 🤷🏽♀️
How's Lewis's health ? Hope he's doing absolutely fine !!
Sadly, he crossed the rainbow bridge a couple of years ago. :(
Ohh..That's really sad 🙁
I've taken a new puppy ..I lost my 12 years old basset hound few months back😢and Now after getting my new baby home I would need your advice time and then !!
Lewis is looking good!
Thanks
Thanks for that video, I agree pets should not eat soy, it's not an animals nature to eat soy.
Can you make a video on pets with itchy skin, what kind of home remedy there are and what to avoid. My dog has itchy skin and scratching too much. He's a maltese and his skin is pink, I went thru his fur with a comb and I don't see any fleas or flea dropping. Thanks! I hope to see it soon!
Hi Cindy, I have one here, but I'll add more: ruclips.net/video/O6flWsUQ-II/видео.html
Thank you!
there he is poor dog. and wow that is really sad that companies would even put something that dangerous for your dog like soy in their food
Although soy is bad for the dogs thyroid it’s most likely what caused my thyroid problems bc it has been getting better since I cut most all soy out of my diet.
Yeah people will buy hills because their slogan is "science diet" 😂😂😂
I'm not a fan of tofu, either. I about gagged when you sampled it....
Funny :-)
i was told by a dietician that soy is a chemical, not a health food...
That almost seems to be the case- and now most soy is GMO
You are looking like Dean Ambrose from WWE.
Thanks? lol
CBD oil,? cool hope we lewis is keeping well man
Thanks he is
wow! what is good for people is often good for cats!? wow I cannot believe they mean that statement. I never heard that statement be made. Especially by a manufacturing pet food company. Oh yeah they're just in it for the money.
Yup
Thanks i fine ridiculous to buy this food for cats or dogs...........this is a occult violent act to the natural carnivore system of a pet like this.
भाई साहब हिन्दी में भी बता दिजिए। ये समझ नहीं आता
worst
The video is too long. You could have said what you said in two minutes.
OK
i don't think it was too long. many find what you say very helpful :) Keep us posted on Lewis.
12 mins isn't very long to spend on saving time and dollars later on in your pet's life... and making them happier and healthier now...
95% of this video I would have cut lol totally unnecessary couldn’t even finish it
🤮
