I saw one in Harvest Bronze Metallic and fell in love with the color. It would look damn good on a hunting rig.
I bought a 2023 colorado trail.boss last june in the pretty velocity blue color and has skid plate and 360 camera system. Love my truck.
My truck msrp was 44,700.00 so champion cheverolet in Johnson city,TN ordered it fully loaded.
17 mpg. Might as well just drive a full size truck
lol, my 21 V6 Tacoma Trd OR gets 16-21mpg. Yep I’m waiting on the new Tacoma
If you can fit a full size in a garage nowadays

Great video. I love the real world videos y'all have been doing lately. I had a 2016 Colorado that was perfect when I was single as a weekend getaway, camping, hunting and fishing vehicle. The backseat and small armrest became an issue after marriage and family. Great truck. Miss it sometimes but love our 22 F150.
I really like that color Tim.
Same. You know I’m a sucker for blue though.
This is the perfect trim level. Great for hunting.
Creepy profile pic. Bro untie those kids you have in your basement.
2023 Colorado Trail Boss is rated for 7,700ibs towing
Also you shouldn't rub dust on the truck thats how you scratch the clearcoat
I drove 2 silverados, 1 with the 2.7 L and 1 with the 5.3 L. The 2.7 was louder I noticed. 1/2 the cylinders, but twice as loud. Hmmm
That is the loudest direct injection noise I’ve heard from any vehicle. Crazy.
Lol My step dad never had heated steering and heated seats in his new at the time Chevy Bonanza 4x4 that was mainly used for deer hunting in Idaho! He never complained he just turned the heater up!
I plane old 1978 k 10 will always rule as a simple truck that worked for everyone
I wanted the TB just but found that spending a bit more and getting the Canyon Elevation was worth it. Better options and the front ground clearance with optional skid plates was near the ZR2 Colorado.
The elevation does not have front locking differential. It is more comparable to Colorado trail boss.
$41k = rip off pricing for such a base crappy vehicle
mine came with dampening under the hood. helps a lot. i dont mind the engine sound
No cruise control? No wayyy! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Insane cruise isn’t standard on $40k trucks
Tailgate storage would perfect for straps and jumper cables
Get a cap and keep all that stuff in the bed, plus you can lock it up. That ticking would have me worried.
Dang, I had to go turn up the thermostat after watching you. Damn you Esterado.
Happy T-Day!
The trail boss is obviously a WT with a suspension mod. Just buy the LT and put a suspension under it. In the long run the cost is going to come out pretty close and you get the heated seats.
Sounds like a diesel 😮
great points on the good and bad. That seat issue is a easy fix and hopefully GM Eng. are watching. Does any Colorado offer and/ or come with a locking rear as standard or as a separate line item that can be ordered from factory for most all of the trim levels? (thinking G80)
I believe the ZR2 does.
The z71 and zr2 have g80 locker
Was that front skid plate plastic? It sounded like it when you tapped on it.
That storage bin in the tailgate is perfect for jumper cables, tow straps, ratchet straps and gloves.
That's a good payload!
I am shocked that Cruise Control is an option as well.
I want more aggressive tires on the trail boss. (Meaner looking)
None of my trucks had lighting in the bed so I wouldn't miss not having ot. Just a personal thing.
The floor mats are a big deal.
Loud is ok by me. Ticking... Not so much.
I appreciate how you and Jill explain why you pick different things as focal points for review. (Like you did for the interior here). It opens up my personal view that is narrowed by my own use experience and needs.
Just the thought of Auto High Beams makes me cringe. How many people are going to be blinded by this feature before it recognizes the car coming the other way?
Overall it's a nice truck.
Nice rifle BTW.
the ticking is direct injection. just how they are
Maybe all the people complaining about the options can just buy an 80000 full-size pickup truck
Hey Tim,
Happy Turkey Day!
I really like you demonstrating headlights at night as many manufacturers lower trim level models take hits for poor performance from the insurance safety board.
The bean counters have a long history for screwing up customer needs Vs. profit margins and it seems to be getting worse!
GM seats are probably another bean counter issue or GM thinks it’s an anti asleep at the wheel feature!
I might have an exercise to help you with your rear end comfort.
RUclips has some great twerking exercise videos for rear end firming! ;)
It would make for a great sign off to end a clip!
As always stay safe and healthy.
Ron
I plan on trading my 21 Tacoma Trd OR for a new gen Tacoma, 2nd year out. Probably a Hybrid Max. Pro, Limited or Trd OR Premium. It will have more power, better mpg & no wierd GM problems. 😁
40 000 $ and no cruise control gm sucks
The nickle and diming (cruise control isn't standard somehow (sorry Andre from TFL) and the complete lack of certain options (LED headlights, bed lights, Heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc..) has definitely caused me to put the upcoming Tacoma ahead of The Trailboss (as long as the Taco's $ isn't crazy). I know Chevy needs a reason to justify the ZR2's price but come on!
Tacomas have always been crazy expensive
So the important question. Did you get your deer.? I got a 5x5 with crossbow using groundblind and 3 decoys. 23 yd shot
Storage wasnt good on the last gen colorado. No led lights in the bed eithe. Gm does anythin to cheap out these trucks
Storage bin would be good for TIE DOWNS.
I was going to buy a 2024 Silverado 1500 but, I have been reading about all the transmission problems they are having? Is this accurate information??
What transmission issues?
Not shifting smoothly, jerky….. there are several service bulletins from Chevy on the 10 speed! From what I’ve read, I am pretty sure I will go back and buy another f150 .
@@robertmatthew2146.....with the same transmission?! Lol
Nobody builds vehicles without air conditioning because people consider it a necessity and so is a heated steering wheel.
@ 10:20 It sounds like a diesel.... if that engine is the turbo four I am not impressed
Oh Tim, it's just the fuel injectors. Don't you worry one bit about that Chevy!
Andre from TFL Truck already owns one of these and he is not very happy...
Looks like good ringneck country....
Ha. I thought the same thing. My lab and myself are heading out this weekend.
👍
Looks like it needs fog lights. All that plastic and no lights
"I'm not sure why things don't work all the time" it's a GM lol.. Great video though.
Why does Chevy even put carpet in an off road oriented truck in the first place?
16:41 No you DONT have to go where you went to turn the headlights off, I own this truck, it’s that round yellow outlined button to the right of your finger on the main screen, you can do what you did but why when it’s on the main screen, my 02 Silverado I bought new and still own doesn’t even have a switch to turn headlights off, GOOD job Chevy for giving me that option on my Trail Boss 👍 most people don’t even turn them of anyways!
I do…
Are you allowed to shoot out of your vehicle in that state?
Nope.
Time stamp 6:15 starts the list if you want to skip the 6min intro
Damn 6 minutes of nonsense…
@@Pickuptrucktalk I didn't say it. But yeah I think you and others have a ton of walk arounds on the Colorado Trail Boss but thanks for your options and content
🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🛻🛻🛻🛻🛻🛻
🆒📽️👌 it's a nice looking 🛻💨
The content is weird. Yep
Tim ! Stop rubbing the truck ! Microscratches man !
thats a big ass if your grazing your cheek on the outer edge of that seat
