    • @deathmetalscottie
      @deathmetalscottie 6 лет назад +1

      That's kinda the point though. Mr. Regular is fully aware of his surroundings and knowing what that will do to a driving experience. This guy was so worried Mr. Regular was going to trash on his car that he kept driving the point home about how great it is, normally under optimal conditions. It's also poor taste to do a review in the midst of another review like that and set a precedent for the rest of the drive.

If I want a track car it's gonna be something that's not insured and that's towed to the track and strictly track use. Not some car that im paying monthly for and is owned by the bank I'm not gonna beat the shit out of it by tracking it.

      Edit - if you go to that dudes page, he uploaded his video ft. Mr. R back on Nov 30. That's a classless move, he should have at least waited for RCR's video to go live.

    The owner seems like the kind of guy who just recently started dating a girl and wants validation from everyone else that she's super hot. He seems like he's trying desperately to justify his $40k purchase over other models. I drive a late 90s Tacoma, and although I paid more for it than a comparable model of the same year, I'm happy with my purchase. I don't go around saying to people "well i test drove an S10 and a Frontier and a Ranger and none of them compared to this but please tell me how you like my Tacoma"

    • @TheCynicalSquiddly
      @TheCynicalSquiddly 6 лет назад +5

      I had a non-vtec Civic that I paid $3,000 for and I sold it within five months because it was so mundane. I cannot see myself ever justifying paying full sticker for a brand new base model Civic, let alone the big bucks for a Type R.

    To the driver, the fun of driving a car like this is getting a feel for how much revs to give so get max power without wheel spin. If you just want to floor the pedal you need AWD. The beauty of the current hatchback market is we have plenty of choice. I went for the Golf R because I live in the UK where the roads are wet a lot of the time.

    • @JerryKosloski
      @JerryKosloski 4 года назад

      @@CJax749 Where is the "purpose-built" part? 25% of it's weight is probably fake vents and plastic that has been textured to mimic carbon fiber. Plus, I've worked for Honda, I have driven them. Stop bring a fanboy. The Type R is a car full of gimmicks and a high-strung turbo 4 that's prone to overheating if driven like a sports car. It's only deserving of the compliment, 'It's a good car... for being a Civic'. But at $40K+ new, it's hard to even say that.

    • @CJax749
      @CJax749 4 года назад

      Jerry Kosloski
      Honda designed the FK8 primarily as a type R - it’s still based off the popular civic platform, but unlike the FK2 which was based off the basic civic, the FK8 was made to be a type R first.
      All other trim levels were then diluted down - savagegeese has a great video discussing the mechanical intricacies of the Type R and it’s amazing what they did.
      If you can’t see that then🤷‍♂️
      The whole design is centred around channeling air around the car to reduce drag and provide downforce; how can you not see that at least.
      If anybody is being a fanboy it’s you😂 I can appreciate Honda’s effort - when you drive an M3 do you say, “this is good for an overpriced three series”. If you don’t then you’re a blind sheep

My newest and current car is a 2004 Sentra SE-R Spec V, and it has a stiffer suspension than stock, so it's just rough all the time. No comfort mode! But I'm not complaining, I feel like fewer electronics means there are fewer things to break in a few years time. My other vehicles were a 1988 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5 speed swap, and a 1990 Miata.

      Yup. Exactly. My powertrain warranty is 5 years so as long as i don't mess up something with my driving, or like you said, modify something in a significant way, then your golden. I choose not to modify my car at all so i don't give the company any ammo to void my warranty. I've bought 4 used cars ever in a span of 1 year, and they all ended up with terminal damage (between 3 months of short daily driving and TWO WEEKS). Not to mention any mechanic ever tries to screw you and 80% of the time don't actually fix the problem you came in with. You better have the stars aligned for yourself if you buy a used car

You see all these city people who have to have the baddest ass sled, type snowpro XR blah blah ( made for sno-cross) and you drive them on a trail and they're hard as a rock. No give on bumps, no windshield so you're freezing your balls off. Even with the shocks on the lowest setting the machine is rock hard. I like my old 2000 Formula z 700. Best of the old frames before everything went to the racing chassis'. It corners like butter, just enough weight on the ski's to turn with minimal effort. Its almost as fast as the new ones but I can ride 300 miles a day and be smiling not frozen and in need of a chiropractor
