It just depends on where you want the landfill located. Do you want it in a dedicated landfill area. Or. Do you want your house to become the landfill. Choices.

Totally informative, you should do a video using the calendar method, five a day method, and box and banish method for decluttering.

Yep, first time I heard that kinda shift was The Minimalists "packing party" concept a few years back. You box everything up, then rescue items from the boxes as you need / want them. Everything left in the boxes after a few months (or however long you decide), is already boxed up, ready to donate.
Likewise the backwards hanger trick I heard from Peter Walsh - when you've worn and washed something you put it back on the hanger the right way round, then after (whatever time frame) you pull out the backwards hanger items and donate them.
This backwards method (like the new "hush your house" concept) have existed for a while, it's just the wording around it that has changed to spell it out clearer 😊

I don’t call myself a minimalist, either. I think of it as simplifying my life. It is soooo much easier to clean and keep the house tidy when there is less stuff to deal with.

I have a question that I need serious help with, my place has become so packed I cannot even access my storage room not even a step inside a walk in shelved storage room/closet. Most of the “stuff” I have is CLOTHES, over the passed 6 years (after a traumatic loss of my best friend) became very depressed leading to weight gain and then a medication I was prescribed, made me gain A LOT MORE WEIGHT, then lock down/Covid/quarantine came into place and with depression, not taking care of myself and no motivation gained MORE I’m double the size I used to be and after making some attempts to lose weight it became clear that I’m NEVER going to be as small as I was in my early 20’s and that’s totally fine, but I for the life of me cannot get rid of my “favourite” clothes which will never fit me again this past 6 months I’ve started to try and get back to ME and working on myself but the number 1 problem is my space my bedroom is what everyone calls my depression room has become so full I have boxes from moving here 2 and a half years ago, clothes in bags and stage containers in every corner over every room in my apartment making me so claustrophobic how can I break the attachment to these clothes and how much some of them cost/ how nice they are knowing they will never fit again? And 2 I’m adding more clothes every month slowly trying to get more then just a couple pieces of clothes I’m comfortable wearing in the process getting extra clothes that I order and don’t fit right or I never wear so they are starting to pile up also!!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS OR STEPS TO START WOULD BE SO HELPFUL I WANT TO DECLUTTER SO BADLY, I’ve gotten rid of a few big pieces that I had stored on my balcony (it seems all my old furniture or furniture I don’t use inside I put on my balcony to the point I’m not getting out there anymore and enjoy it like I used to and I hate it I JUST WANT MY LIFE BACK AND TAKE CONTROL OVER MY SPACE!!! ❤

Focus on what clothes you want to keep and use now. When your closet and drawers are 2/3rd to 3/4 full then stop and the rest of the clothes go. Get a plastic box that fits on your shelf and make that a memory box. If some of the old clothes fit there great, if not, Buh bye. Try this and see if it works for you. Different things work for different people. Take a deep breath and think how much you’ll enjoy your space.

Another idea you can try as well. When you buy one item, let 3-5 items go that you aren't using. Once you pair it down, use the one in one out rule. I know it's really hard. I went through breast cancer, and my body is so different now. I shed a lot of tears, letting some of my favorites go that don't work for me anymore. I'm still working on it. It's an emotional journey. I know you can do it too. Trust me on this. You will feel much better keeping the clothes that suit your now body. Don't be afraid to look into a support group or ask someone local for help. Depression is real, but you can make it through. If 5 minutes a day is all you can do, 5 minutes it is. I like what Dana K. White says. It's five minutes better! ❤ 🙏

In some areas, the police station has an area set up for these marketplace exchanges. I agree be careful. Lots of human trafficking going on, unfortunately. 😢
