Aussie heads. The V actually stands for Venturi , 2 V for two barrel carbies , 4 V for four barrel carbies. The 3V was just a marketing thing for CHI because it’s a bit of a hybrid
They were 2V and 4V from the start. The smarter people have been filling the floor of 4Vs to get some velocity. The 3V heads are far cleaner version of that. You do NOT need those huge heads on anything. I feel filling in the floors of even a 2V head would help. More so a 302C head.
@@evilbeetlekustomscreations4965 on the street less then 4000rpm they are better than the 4v. I use a 4bbl intake with small ports on my 4v heads with spacer plates and filled the ports to match the 2v intake runners
The 351c 4v was the only small block that wore big block heads. Comparable to a bbc rectangle port in intake port and valve size. We loved 'em longtime in Australia 😂🇭🇲👍
Beautiful heads, thanx for the post. Did that 464 Clevor with ported Chi 3V and sheet metal intake ever get on the dyno? I was hoping to see some numbers on that beauty.
It's nice when the heads come with great valve seats and that the tolerance stack comes in that close. Hope you are feeling better. Have a blessed Christmas.
Thats exactly what I asked for months ago. Some canted valve heads on Project JJ. Should be a great comparison to the GT40 heads. Big fan from 🇦🇺Down Under🇦🇺 here.
How much is one of those heads bear and what do you have to do to get an intake manifold, they are indeed a beautiful set of heads thank you so much again for another great video
Thanks for the video and showing details like measuring the installed height, and man your spring tester set up!--sweet. I noticed you said you shimmed a few with an 0.015, and your sharpie said you had 0.011 (residual) variation on one head and 0.012 on the other. While bracketing 1.840....but I thought the idea was to shim to get 1.840 (+/-0.001)? how many psi variation did the 0.011 and 0.012 translate into? Totally agree on running the outers only for break-in. Good tip! Just remind him to not rev over about 3500 or so with the light pressures.
Have you seen or used the MBE small block ford heads? If so, what do you think about them? I'm sure they are very expensive. Are they worth the money is what I'm asking myself.
Will these heads work on a 400M? I know they will bolt on but are there an intake manifolds, single and dual plane, that will work on the high deck height on the 351M and 400?
You will be stuck with using a Performer as AFAIK there is no other aftermarket intake for a tall deck engine. There is/ was 2 different Performers as well. One for early engines pre 73? and one with more emmision points for the later ones. I own a 71 Galaxie that had a factory 2bbl manifold with the top machined off and a 4bbl flange fitted. Made good mid and top end power with a 780 Holley. I have fitted a early Performer which is not quite bolt on as the throttle and kickdown linkages have to be modded. But low end and mid range is better as is the economy. Top end really does not worry me as it is a 2 ton car with fairly tall tyres and a 3.00 diff. Factory was a 3.25.
I'm running a pair of CNC ported Trickflow Cleveland heads on my 351M block. I was lucky and was given an old Streetmaster intake that I ported to match the heads. I know Edelbrock still makes a Performer for the 351M/400 & I believe Weiand still has one as well. Also you can run a Cleveland intake with spacers from Price Motorsports
Video motion isn't smooth watching back in 1080 or 2160, you may need better lighting ? Probably only need to record in 1080 at around 30fps for good results ?
Dragboss garage just got a company to cast 351C blocks i think with 4.125 bores. Now there can be a rebirth of hotrod 351C's!

I got a 73 Gran Torino with the factory 2 barrel so that means it's the 2cv heads? Can they make good power?

Thanks for the video. Even after all these years still love all that is 351C. 👍👍😎
Those were the heads of choice for engine masters for a few years.
Ford cleavland heads are awesome. Ive been waiting for JJJ junior to be back

Thanks for the video, Brent! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I have Cleveland envy.....
Me too… 😵💫
Thanks Brent. Always great content!
Brent, Your a Lucky Man...👏👏👏
Nice looking heads. Merry Christmas to you and yours 🙏

Hmmmmm!!! 351C ,,, with CHI HEADS IN THE HOUSE!!!! CMONN!!!!
Really nice set of heads, wish I could afford a set for my 351C. Would love to send you my whole engine!
500 HP, I can't wait to see.

Do the math…..spring constant is 367 lbs/inch.
From Ford the V stands for Venturi.
👍

8° flows 520's with a 2.39 intake yo
Why is this person using a flat tappet, solid cam in this lift range? Is the engine being used in a sanctioned class that requires it?

351Cs must be getting a bit scarce these days aren't they?
DBG has new Cleveland blocks for sale now
Plenty in 🇦🇺Australia🇦🇺 brother
Well, I have a few 👍
Can these heads work on a 351W block? As in a Clevor.
As long as you can find an intake to fit.
Any ball park on what these assembled cost?
CHI has prices on their website. They list prices for bare vs fully assembled, unported vs cnc ported and any combination of those options.
Just depends on the valves, springs, etc., but ballpark would be $3200-3300.
Show the intake side .What ,the whole reason to stay here for 13.25 !
Yer would of been good for sure
where's a look at intake ports
Not much to see. It's a standard 4V port opening.

Im not lying
Yo Brent. First comment!
Somthin is wrong with this video??
